Growing up playing D&D and reading fantasy books, this is a treat.
Very well done. There truly is magic in the world. Maybe not quite like in this film, but I see magic in the Spring when life begins again. But then life didn't die in winter, just took a nap. Enjoyed your film very much.
Creature was very well done, too...great strory, well shot..!
Not saying that we all have magic at our fingertips, but, we have forgotten how magical we could be. ;)

Amazing!!! I loved it!!! Only wish it was longer!!! Even a series!!! ❤❤❤
Exquisite. The puppeteering and CGI are fantastic and just the right mix of practical and CG. **Spoiler Alert** The damage done to the princess is as much a testament to the skills of the writer/director/actress as to the FX team that made it happen. Truly shocking. The ending hopefully leads to at least another chapter, if not several more *End Spoilers* You (the production crew) have created a real gem in this story. I personally hope there is more to come, and soon. Break a leg!

This was good 😊
Such a good film! This and other amazing independently produced fantasy films definitely help fill the gap while we're waiting for Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, and Ranger's Apprentice TV series to be released))
I'm glad it was short!
Dose this take place in the same universe as rise of the zerad, and if so before or after?
@BrotherhoodStudiosPro
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does take place in the same universe as Rise of the Zerad. It takes place afterwards. After the Elves (later called Scions) are pushed out of the world, magic users take over, but when the common people push back and overthrow the magic users, the magic users have to go into hiding. This is where Quest for Oriud takes place. We plan to develop a whole cinematic universe. We have another short, Deliverer, on the Brotherhood Studios channel, but fantasy is very expensive to produce, so we're getting more experience and building up our resumes with films like Last Three Days so we can build to the higher budget level productions.

@@ivancrowsworth thanks. Our first feature film, Last Three Days, came out in November. We want to build off that and do more films and television, working our way back to fantasy. If you want to support us, please consider watching Last Three Days and rating and liking it. The better this film does, the easier it will be to make the next one.
I loved it! Also the special effects, so well placed. Thank you for making this! Shorts are where the fantasy genre took refuge! Big streaming companies couldn't do a believable fantasy show (with a heart) if their life depended on it! (The companies only do sex, show effects just to show them and "plot twists" that make you shake your head. They don't feel and believe in their story. It's just 21st century people in costumes to me, no depth at all. Kills the dignity.) In case you value constructive criticism (if not, stop reading here): - Don't put the quiver on the back, that's a modern thing, it belongs on the side if you want to really use it "like back then". Archery was _way(!)_ different back then. - ranged weapons (like bow and mage) means they don't have to run to their comrades to help them, that's unbelievable. Especially because it makes their escape so much more difficult. - The mage's costume doesn't mirror a relationship with nature at all. In fact, it doesn't even show that he should be in hiding as well, since he's so unwelcome. Imagine Aragorn in comparison, who liked to be an invisible ranger, so he wore dark, functional clothes and he had a calm attitude, rarely any sudden movements if not needed. So it's easy to blend in with shadows and be gone without notice. You could argue "He didn't want to hide", but that'd be too energy consuming and nature doesn't bother with useless pride, it prefers what works well. - "the chosen one" is the most overused stereotype, right after "the magical weapon", which is usually a sword. It's not hard to find different reasons why a person is the one who's needed. The reason why Harry Potter has two close friends is to break up "the chosen one" stereotype. He can't do it alone, the others have to contribute constantly. There's always a reason why Harry has to face Voldemort alone for a long time, so it doesn't feel too much like "only the chosen one can do this". We tend to pick stereotypes because they are easy, but they are able to hold the potential of a story back quite well.

Thanks for the feedback! Made this is 2011, so have learned and grown a lot as storytellers since then! Haven’t done much more fantasy because of budget constraints, but planning on working our way back to it!

This was awesome! What camera did you use? I have always been interested in filmmaking but I can't decide what camera to start with. I can't decide between a DSLR, mirrorless, or the black magic pocket cinema camera. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner filmmaker? Thanks for any help you can give me.

@@andytopley314 great suggestion! This was made 10 years ago though, and the filmmakers have sense grown in their connections and knowing how to make stuff. On their newest project, they hired stunt coordinators and stunt men to be able to really sell the fight scenes.
