Honestly for the first time i'm really happy for a fighter who wins and when he won tonight i felt the same as i did when he won the belt, I hope he proves all of us wrong and holds it for a long time.

Oliviera REALLY proved himself this fight. Round 1 showed his durability and lack of fear. Round 2 showed dominance. He completely mauled Dustin and had him scared to even change position. Round 3 was just BEAUTIFUL. And there’s a breakdown of the fight on KZread. Basically, Charles noticed that Dustin pulls back when Charles was throwing his right hand. So Charles threw the right without trying to really land, but this caused Dustin to pull back and expose his hips. This is how Charles got that body lock and back control which gave him the green light for the RNC. Masterfully executed. A bonafide champion.

Olivera's grappling was really his saving grace after the big shots he took from Dustin in the first round. And his chin might be one of his most underrated attributes, there was no quit in him.

@@joemfahey yeah I know olivera is doing the same stuff in fights that kabib did. Staying in peoples face and making them fight. Pushing the pace and taking some damage but he is making dudes back up and ends up getting the other guy’s to gas out. If olivera is able to pressure Gathji and make him back peddle and become tired then yes he can beat Gathji. I hope Gathji can upper cut olivera and put him to sleep. Before Justin is out of gas.

Oliveira might be the one fighter good enough to entice khabib at this point.

Charles is the most complete UFC fighter offensively imo. He just has to work on his defense standing up, he gets wobbled too much in the first round, so heavy hitters always have a chance to pull a win against him. If he tightens up his defense, he's going to be there for a long time.

The way I found out about Oliveira is by ufc2 and found out how fast he punched and his amazing ground skills

Just about being company men. The sport even commentators now among casual fans just overran. Watching 20+ years to date never missing a card, it’s evolved and so amazing to watch especially watching Charles lose to Swanson in 2012-13? And such an amazing comeback and evolving, but it’s been harder for legit fighters bc it’s about whose more promotable. Rankings don’t even matter anymore they really don’t.

Charles is the most interesting fighter in the UFC right now. He’s fun to watch, plain and simple. Khamzat too.

Interesting when Oliveira TKO’d Chandler, just beat Poirier (and traded with him) and has the the most submissions in the UFC. You would be onto something with Islam, but I said interesting (fun to watch). I love Islam and I’m rooting for his success too, but he’s just not that fun to watch.

As a Poirier fan, Dustin was relying on power & brawling but it won’t get far against somebody who’s much sharper in technique & advanced in grappling. The fight could’ve went either way but we all got our answers. Dustin never slept on Do Bronx. Much respect from both fighters & I really doubt Gaethje would win either

You can tell just like Dustin said in the post press con he was very worried to scramble and give up his back and get tapped again. I also think that Hooker fight of him getting rocked giving up a round or two getting caught on bottom a little and still weathering the storm winning more later rounds made him have that same mindset here even though Charles and Hangman are different fighters it’s more towards just being able to push through anything for five rounds 9/10 times against the best. I couldn’t believe anyone that watched Charles vs Lee or Chandler could possibly question his heart as of recently. He’s taken his lumps but on this most recent streak he’s came out the other end in back and fourths just like DP has. There’s levels to this grappling game. Connor commentating on DPs ground game is laughable. He went for a sub ended up on his back getting smashed and his bjj game plan was illegal upkicks and grabbing the gloves while getting smashed. The whole top five would take him down and smash him aside from Justin who would choose to stand. I can’t stand when someone is so cowardly they try to criticize him off another’s mans win which they couldn’t do when the guy who smashed him twice.

I hope people keep doubting Charles because it gets me better odds 😂😂
