It's from a religious hymn I think .I'm not sure. I also liked it and tried searching but couldn't. Chadwick Boseman mentioned it in saying thanks to Denzel Washington for giving him an other students a paid tuition. It struck me as well. I think for me it says when you can ..pass on your skills and goodwillro those who need it. The world is in turmoil and we must respect and uplift people.

Looking back, he really does look like he’s sick here. The way he walks and his weight loss. It’s so sad yet so inspiring. He is simply truly amazing.

I have to imagine Denzel was aware at this point of Chad’s disease. His face tells a thousand words and it’s really honestly heartbreaking.

Chadwick was so eloquent and had a beautiful way about him. This speech is one of the greatest I've heard coming from an actor. He just said everything so perfectly. RIP 🖤

I think Chadwick reminds Denzel of his young self. There is grounding (for lack of a better word) in both of them, a quiet dignity, the deepest of the deepest humility, that God placed in them. The fact that they acknowledge and thank God first, on each stage, without apology. It brings tears to my eyes, and I know that our Father in heaven is pleased with their worship.

Did yol notice how Denzel didn't clap with everyone else or praise himself after Chad said that he paid his tuition? well that's because when you give, truly give whole heartedly, you never take credit or scream "I did that" and only a man who knows God, can be so humble like that. So many of us need to learn that kind of humility. Also Chadwick is just the same. I really admire this in each one's Character-reflecting the image of Christ. I can't even tell you how many times I have watched this and rewatched it. His words are so prophetic and watching Denzel take every single word in was truly moving. I bet anything that Chadwick's words touched him more deeply than anyone else that has ever spoken his praise.

A life taken too soon. This is one of the best speeches I've ever heard. Concise, meaningful, and powerful. Chadwick rest in peace.

Man, what a tribute. Still hard to believe Chadwick isn't around he had so much to give the world

Denzel knew about Chads condition. Just imagine how strong of a soul and character you have to have to hold the tears and emotions in. Denzel is a role model and a legend as a human being.

"An offering from a sage and a king is more than silver and gold; it is a seed of hope, a bud of faith. There is no Black Panther without Denzel Washington." Powerful stuff. RIP Chadwick.

Knowing this young man's death was soon to come, makes this speech more moving than ever.

Perhaps one of the greatest speeches during my lifetime. What a heavenly treasure and gift from God he was. We got a glimpse and gone! A memory that’s a legacy that truly touched Billions!!!

Looking at this just breaks my heart. You can see how thin he was. Rest in Power, King.

The greatest tragedy, to my aging and aching heart, is that this young, well-spoken and supremely talented young man, will never have the opportunity to build a legacy that others will have the chance to build upon. His work was mind-blowing and humbling and damned near perfect, but if life were fair, and the world not so cruel as we all know it to be, he would, one day, have been sitting where the inestimable Mr. Washington was sitting on this night, and some young, supremely talented actor would standing where he is, singing his praises. Mr. Boseman passed away on my 58th birthday, and I wonder at the unfairness of fate, that he who gave so much would die so young, where I who offers so little, continues to breathe... Rest in power, young prince. So long as I breathe, you will not be forgotten.

I think Chadwick Boseman is one of the most under-recognized actors working today. I think Denzel knows it. He’s been turning out Academy Award worth performances for years with zero recognition. He should have been nominated for the James Brown biopic. But let’s not start down that road of shoulds... this was a lovely tribute.

soapnorm it’s not about awards. Chadwick first and foremost is a working actor. I’d take being a working actor over any award any day. Most actors aren’t even working actors. On top of that this man is playing in huge biopics AND got a major role in a the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE?????? This man has struck diamonds

lol "Under-recognized actors," is a reach because people recognized Chadwick before Black Panther. He was great in "42," "Get on up," and "Marshall." Just because he wasn't nominated for any of his performances doesn't mean he got "zero recognition." Hahaa

mali mall great point. I should have been more specific about recognition from the motion picture establishment. He certainly doesn’t need that to prove anything or be validated. Actually the academy should be proving to *him* that they are capable of honoring his talent!

Zack Zallie not over the death of my DAD which he passed away in August after learning he had Pancreatic Cancer in June of 2020. But trying to hold on for our GOD and JESUS CHRIST keeps me going, my DADDY and my Children. But thanks brother GOD forever bless.

Temitope Shittu I put him on the map, and made him a rising star. The movie itself, is just really choppy and the story structure is all over the place. I get that they where trying to break the formula of bio pics. But the execution of that idea falls flat. But like I said, Chadwick himself was great. The movie just didn’t work unfortunately

I miss Chadwick like I knew him. This is truly a beautiful and blessed black man

Every now & then I binge watch his interviews, movies, etc just to hear his voice again.... Man.... 😢

If I have never heard words spoken from the heart, they must sound like this. Words that can choke a man with humility are words like this... Kind and considerate words from one King’s mouth to another King’s soul. Words like these build universes, crush demons, and give angels wings. These words were needed. These words bring air to suffocating lungs.

Very true an amazing speech. If you want to see passionate speeches id recommend watching some Denzel speeches there amazing both men EXTREMELY well spoken and so talented.
