Maybe consider having work aways 3-4 times a year to help with projects you know can't accomplish on your own. It's looking so much better just having these wonderful folks come for a week. Great job to everyone involved!

"A burden shared is a burden halved" and for you all it has been multipled and divided into many smaller fragments thanks to your wonderful friends. Chateau basement area would make a great private apartment for a couple or small family who needs their own small kitchen while visiting/ volunteering. Good job all! 😊👏👏👏👏

Amen! I come from a very large family of believers. One of the main principles I learned through my parents, aunts & uncles, was the fact the "many hands make light work". It is so true. Even when members of family would fall on hard times, everyone would chip in grocery items & whatever financial funds they could afford, to help them back onto their feet. Also remember, when others can and do offer assistance I know it can sometimes feel weird or maybe even unnerving if you don't really know them. However, if you don't let them help with what the Lord has put on them to assist with, you are actually depriving said person of the ability of having the joyous heart one gets from helping others. Be Blessed & Continue To Be A Blessing To Others!

Love the fireplace in the “shop”! Thank God for these mission minded volunteers. At Chateau Leland’s she has volunteers quite frequently . You’ll enjoy the terrace in the warmer weather. You could hold venues there. Great idea for those bedrooms in the basement.

This is just a lovely example of how much can be done with people helping. How fun and exciting! And satisfying!

Have you considered having a volunteer couple living at the chateau as caretakers whilst you are back in Canada? They could continue to look after the gardens and just keep an eye on the interior in exchange for free accommodation.

Beautiful progress and what a blessing to have so much help. One “trick” or cheat with the ivy choking trees etc. is to cut the base of the ivy stock. This will stop further growth and kill the ivy above the base. Blessings to you all.

I so understand about feeling distraught over the renovation going slowly. I'm 3 1/2 years into renovation my A-frame in North Carolina that I thought would only take a few months, lol. Every little job gets a step closer to the end.

God is great. He sends His helpers. You will need them all the time. The guest helpers will be rewarded equally. Keep asking for them to come. God is opening doors and showing you His intention to keep your work going at the chateau.
