My Favourite Player of All Time: ● Fabregas was 17 years old during virtually the entirety of his breakthrough season of 04/05 and made 33 league appearances (24 starts) in a side just off the back of winning the previous seasons league without losing a game, finished 2nd in that current campaign and won the FA Cup. Just let that sink in. Absolutely frightening 😲. ● Youngest Arsenal goalscorer: (16 years 212 days v Wolves Dec 2003) Youngest Arsenal goalscorer in League: (17 years 113 days v Blackburn Aug 2004) Youngest Arsenal goalscorer in Europe: (17 years 217 days v Rosenborg Dec 2004) ● Only he and Evan Ferguson have 10+ goals/assists to their names as 18 year olds in the Premier League era who weren't from England. Had to get that one in as an Irishman 😄. ● Statistics show that in the five years prior to Fàbregas's departure from Arsenal, Fàbregas created 466 goal-scoring chances, made 86 assists and scored 48 goals, all three statistics topping those of new teammates Xavi and Andrés Iniesta, despite both having made more appearances in the same period. ● 09/10 League Season: Apps: 27 Goals: 15 Assists: 15 Who knows what numbers he would have finished with that season if he'd avoided a few niggling injuries during the first half of that campaign and not fractured his leg to Barca in March and been ruled out for the remainder of the season. I've no doubt that he would have comfortably broken the record of 20 assists in a PL season and in all likelihood would have 20+ League goals to his name alongside it. All from CM at 22 years of age in his second season as club captain as well it's worth noting. ● All time leader in history of assists for Spanish national team. ● Most assists as a CM in the 21st century ahead of the likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Iniesta & Xavi. ● Only player in PL era to record 10+ assists in 6 separate seasons. ● 2nd All Time Leader in assists in PL history to Ryan Giggs, who spent 9 and a half more seasons than him in the PL . ● Made captain of Arsenal at the tender age of 21 as well. He was absolute magic.

David Silva . He was just special.
I’m biased as a long standing season ticket holder at City. What I will say is in all the games I saw Silva play for us, I reckon you could count the amount of bad games he had for us on one hand. Even in some games against prime Barca and Madrid, he often looked better than everyone on the pitch (maybe not Messi). He even got MOTM in a game Ronaldo was playing in, in Ronaldo’s prime. Fabregas was a premier league great too though.

More ability to control and glide is a perfect description of fabregas. The way I look at it, silva is a 10 and a great one at that but he is limited in the roles he can fulfill. Fabregas played 10, 8 and 6 across his career each to a ridiculously high level. He glided through teams as a 10 and an 8 and as a 6 for Chelsea as a seep lying playmaker he just set the tempo and created stunning goals with 40 yard passes spraying left and right. He was outrageous and because of their similar ability but fabregas' additional flexibility I'd edge him over silva.

As an arsenal fan, lifelong, its Silva. Cesc could not win us games on his own but cold definitely find the slimmest of lanes. Silva could see the opportunity that could be and would work in the smallest pockets of space to create those lanes and then execute on them.

@matteuspittmann2720 You're obviously forgetting the 3-0 win over Villa on 27 December 2009. Wasn't fit to start, came on in 57th minute with game at 0-0, scored a beauty of a free kick from 25 yards or so which he curled into the top corner, scored the second goal less than 10 minutes from the end & had to be substituted a short time afterwards after injuring himself in the process of scoring that goal. Look it up. So much receny bias in these kinds of debates whenever these comparisons are made. He was only 22 at the time as well.

Silva achieved more with his club but Fabregas was the best player in Arsenal for a good few years, I'm not sure if Silva was his team's best player even once? First it was Kompany and Toure and Hart and later it was Aguero and De Bruyne and Sterling, City was always stacked with talent since they were bought by Abu Dhabi of course they were gonna win more titles. Also different player, Silva was always dangerous from the flank but Fabregas dominated games from the middle and is literally one of the best passers football has ever seen, in addition to being a good scorer.

As a City fan ye he was our best player. He was the one setting up Kun soo that takes it for me. Watching City tho, Silva best attribute was the way he dictated games all over the pitch, where as cesc was more central. Silva probably has twice as much skill also not to mention his tight dribbling. They had identical careers but the fact silver dictated games way more takes the cake for me. If Silva was out we was naked. Nothing would tick and he also NEVER dropped form. Started week in week out for years, not to mention he carried a Souless Timid City to wear we are today, where as Henry more did that for Arsenal. Silva Carried a way heavier load and played with abit more style. For me he takes it then if nothing else separates them.

I think you are only just saying that AFTER David Silva got his statue and recognition but not before that. That was why I said 'was so underrated.' I mean when we talk of the top 5 foreign greatest midfielders of all time in the prem, David Silva doesn't really get that much of a shout. Also, it is easy to say that after he left Man City. There weren't a lot of people talking about him during his time at City. I mean he is a big-name player and a legend. So why wouldn't people be talking about him a lot compared to other greats like Gerrard etc? That sounds like Silva wasn't given enough credit which he deserved. I mean he is like that guy who does all the hard work but doesn't get enough recognition for it at the time. Kinda like in a team (office related), the person who does the work makes success possible but it is the team leader who gets all the recognition for the team's success.

David Silva was class but Fabregas for me. Fabregas could play deep, box-to-box, no.10. He could do a solo run and score a goal; he could do freekicks, he could carry a team as a captain, he could do the dirty work - on top of being a playmaker equally as gifted as David Silva.
If only Wenger had brought Cesc back.. Imagine him playing with Ozil.. Both in their prime
Different players but both great. Silva is beautiful to watch but no one dictated a game better than fabregas and had a better final pass. A Toss of a coin this one.

Spain produces a lot of players that have a good touch and mastery of the ball, id say thats why they're a little bit better than England and why those players come to England and doinate the midfield, or look at debruyne , a attacking midfielder thats creative and good on the ball, and can dribble too aassist and score , these players boss in england, and perhaps are more produced in other countries. Because england still seems to value physicallity too much , and not enough technical development, the ball mastery, and bossing midfielders around, like Spain or other countries, look how many spain has produced, xavi iniesta, the best of that generation, but cesc, silva, xabi alonso busquets, so many others its a cultural thing and futbol is a beautiful game you play and with good feel for the ball and touch and quality you will get far. Techinicality and feel for the ball always wins. technical mastery feel for the ball and elegance. Che
