The visual style in the artworks he uses have also become way more uniform. In early videos they were kinda all over the place. I've grown quite fond of these cartoon portraits.

I don't think they fit the mostly serious topics of the book and the videos well, and they are often unnecessarily ugly - like even characters that are not described as ugly in the books look hideous in these pictures. But I understand that these are probably his only source of pictures for every (even minor) characters in the same style

Dude that's in the first book in the first qtr of the book. Clearly he never actually started writting with a five year time jump in mind. Initially he sent a plot outline to get a paycheck so he could write without working. That plot outline had a five year time jump but that plot outline was never the story he was going to write. So spaketh Martin. Despite what you might think this isn't contresial just alot of people get there information from KZread channels rather than actually reading the books or watching grrm interviews

That's incorrect if that's what you are referring to, it's from A Feast for Crows, which is book 4, just as it says ONSCREEN at the timestamp that I provided that displays the quote. I know exactly what he wrote in the plot outline, I've read the outline, I've read the books, I've watched the interviews, literally what the fuck are you talking about? Clearly you haven't watched the interviews, because there is this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/la1sy5WFcayWqdY.html where he states specifically that he had to throw away a year's worth of work on AFfC and start over on it because he had started writing with the five year timeskip and it didn't turn out to work well. Maybe next time before you open your fucking mouth and accuse others of not knowing what the fuck THEY'RE talking about, you oughta first make sure you know what the fuck YOU'RE talking about. Eddie F DnD took Gilbert’s story and gave it to Arya. Literally.

If Taena was one of Vary's little birds in Esos, then it stands to reason that Varys arranged for her to marry Merryweather while he was exiled. Varys then arranges for Robert to pardon Merryweather so that Merryweather will return home. Varys is now using her to manipulate Cersei. The whole situation reeks of Varys.

I think it’s interesting that Taena and her husband aren’t seen together much, and Taena’s son’s origin is very vague. Honestly the Merryweather’s reminds me of spies pretending to be married as a cover.

I like it when Preston analyses the books. No far-fetched theories or tinfoil, just some good insight on little things we might have missed.

Taena Merryweather has always intrigued me, I'm so excited for the rest of this series!

I just love how George R. R. Martin's work is so nuanced. And I love Preston's videos and theories on that work. They may or may not be right, but they are well thought out and thorough.

My brain kept reading it as "Tyene" (like the Sand) but NO! YOU meant "That Merryweather Bitch" (as I've been remembering her) from the BOOKS 😍! Thanks for reminding us about her, we needed to catch up. She's been doing Cercei so dirty for SO long and I LOVE IT 💞

I love A Feast For Crows so much! The Cersei chapters alone are some of my favorites of the series.

Preston thanks for another exciting video. The Taena/Cersei interactions were pretty awesome. I found it ironic that Cersei wanted Taena's son to become friends with Tommen so he would grow up with a "Ned at his back".

I reread Cersei IV, and Orton suggests that Cersei: * not get involved in the selection of a new high septon (and thereby forego having a High Septon that owes his position to her) * not get involved in Littlefinger's conflict with the Lords declarant (and thereby forego making him or them beholden to her) * start an alliance with The Ironmen for bogus reasons (that they are the "enemy of an enemy", when that enemy -- Robb -- is already dead), at the expense of risking pissing off the Boltons * not pay the Iron Bank, whereby they will have an incentive to back someone else * tell Wyman Manderley to send Davos to King's Landing so they can extract information from him (whereas Qyburn want Davos killed) * get rid of Jon Snow because he has supposedly allied with Stannis It seems to be that most of these are equally well suited for Aegon or Dorne to want Cersei to do. But points 1 indicate Aegon: if there wasn't any invasion coming, there is little point in interfering in the faith's selection process, as Stannis worships the R'hlor, so all of them are against him. But with Aegon's invasion coming, having a High Septon that in your debt might give Cersei an edge. But OTOH, point 4 suggests against Aegon: we know in hindsight that the Iron Bank decided to go with Stannis, and why would Aegon want that?

On point 4, it's possible Orton hoped the Iron Bank would back Aegon - Orton takes a hard anti-Stannis stance, encouraging offensive action against him. Maybe Orton hopes that if Stannis is defeated and no longer a viable candidate for the throne, the Iron Bank will have no choice but to go with Aegon.

If Stannis is indebted, he can in time be pressured to bend the knee. I count the Iron Bank to be on Team Aegon.
