▬▬▬▬ Information ▬▬▬▬
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Based on the fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. A Game of Thrones is one of the most successful television series to ever made and continues to captivate audiences all over the world. Nathaniel Finestone The best part for me was definitely all the Jaehaerys stuff but I also really liked the end parts about the Deagonbane. I thought he was an interesting character and reminded me of mix between Bran and Jon at times. I think him being called the Broken King is definitely meant as a bit of foreshadowing for Bran becoming King in ASOIAF.
I think it's a bit of a stretch to say Taena's lying about the Redwyne twins. They could be flirting with Margaery's cousins in order to get close to Margaery; they can't court Margaery because she's married, so her cousins are the best way to be near her. And Ser Osmund doesn't specify who the twins are bringing gifts for.

The crack about the Golden Company "fighting for the losing side" probably has more to do with their 0-4 record in Westerosi invasions, rather than Stannis. (Either way, it's a downplay -- but that way it's more of a slam against the Company, "proving" his "loyalty" against Blackfyre rebellions.)

It is a huge stretch to assume that wanting to do nothing about the Vale during Tywin's small council is an anticrown position. Because of all the reasons you've mentioned there is no chance for Lysa backing up the Crown against Robb's case. So as long as the Vale stays neutral it's a success for the Crown. Doing anything may cause Lysa to start acting and that would probably benefit the North. It's better to "let her be".
And we're back

This is an interesting look back. I will say the two most suspicious positions Merryweather takes are the Iron Bank and the Golden Company. Mainly because he's lived in Essos for many years, he should be well aware of both the Golden Company and Iron Bank's reputations and M.O.s. The other issues I find less suspect, he councils inaction in the Vale and with House Frey, both of which makes sense for different reasons. The Freys it actually is good council, and in the case of the Vale, I feel it's more of an underestimate of Littlefinger and obliviousness to the Vale Lords. Also with the North I once again think Merryweather gives decent council. While he can believe Stannis to be desperate and on the brink of defeat, Davos is Stannis' right hand man and may have valuable information that could be used to defeat Stannis once and for all. I've always viewed the small council meetings as a way to show the differences in rulers from Ned to Tyrion to Tywin to Cersei. Hence why similar situations and problems are risen and different solutions are decided upon. Especially with Tywin and Cersei, that's why I think Merryweather coincidentally has some of the same views as his predecessors. To show when given the same options as Tywin how Cersei decides to handle the same situations. Its interesting to look back on not what is ultimately decided, but who is suggesting the solutions in order to find motive and common cause.
My interest in the series and the channel had been waning until this. This Cersei and Taena series is reminiscent of some of my favorite material on the channel. A triumphant return to form in my opinion. Keep up the excellent work Mr. Jacobs.

Cersei IV is in my top 3 fave chapters in the series, and this analysis is just... 👏👏👏👏👏🤩🔥
Are you sure Horas and Hobber aren't flirting with Margaery? Her marriage to Tommen is unconsummated and can be set aside. Imagine, if Horas could marry Margaery, then King Aegon would write off Mace, Willas, and Garlan, in an attainder like the one Tommen signs against Edmure and the Blackfish in Jaime IX, ASOS. Then Horas could be Lord of Highgarden. I'm pumped to hear you talk about the Redwynes. There's a whole theory about them being Aegon supporters written out in a Quora post. The Redwynes are involved in so many suspicious things in the books: The cask of wine in Tyrion I, ADWD - suspicious. Varys' weird story about the Moonrunner - suspicious. The Lannisters keeping Horas and Hobber prisoner, threatening them, making Horas fight at the Blackwater - reasons for the Redwynes to hate the Lannisters. What does Paxter say to that? "Gods be praised!" (...) "A great victory for King Joffrey!" Kiss Lannister ass - suspicious. Testify against Tyrion for Cersei at the trial - suspicious. Shows indifference to the brutal murder of Rhaegar's children - sign of clear Blackfyre sympathies. Talk quietly with Mathis Rowan, a genuine Targaryen sympathiser, at Tommen's wedding - suspicious. Try to marry his daughter to a knight from House Lannister of no particular dynastic importance (yet) - suspicious. Horas and Hobber hitting on Margaery - suspicious. The big question is, what reason would the Redwynes have to support Aegon, as this is clearly in conflict to what Mace and the Tyrells want, which is to align with the Lannisters and slowly usurp their power through Margaery. To pull up a quote from a thread regarding a possible Redwyne-Aegon alliance: "aside from Highgarden itself, there is literally nothing that Paxter could want that Mace could not give him more easily than Aegon could." Well, that really hits the nail on the head, doesn't it? *Highgarden itself.* Through their mother, Paxter's sons are the next male heirs behind Willas and Garlan. Why shouldn't they want Highgarden?
@dorellanarange3614
4 жыл бұрын
Tyrells and Rewynes are cousins. Why would they want to usurp their own family?
@lasttoparty7570
4 жыл бұрын
For power, maybe? Like how the Freys trust their kin about as far as they can throw them. Like Arnolf Karstark was trying to goad the Lannisters into killing his grandnephew, Harrion - kinslaying via proxy. Or how Leobald Tallhart sent his nephew Benfred to his death fighting Theon, so Leobald could usurp Torrhen's Square. Family, in theory, should love each other, but in this world, it's sometimes all about power. Plus, how likely is it that the beautiful Tyrells show much love and appreciation towards their ugly ginger cousins? Olenna has been a Tyrell for about fifty years, it's doubtful she's still close to her birth family. Paxter would be naturally resentful of Mace for being an arrogant twit, and Horror and Slobber would be resentful of their cousin, the Knight of Flowers, being so loved and celebrated (while also being so gay) while they're constantly mocked. And the Redwyne twins would hate the Lannisters keeping them prisoner, and along with their father, hate the Tyrells for trying to make nice with the Lannisters.
@hi-ls6lt
Жыл бұрын
But wouldn’t Margaery technically have Highgarden before them? So they would obtain Highgarden through marriage? Just like how Sansa would be in line for Winterfell if Bran or Rickon could not inherit it. Because I think then the children may still carry on the name Tyrell unless one of the Redwynes does an Orys Baratheon and starts a new Redwyne branch at Highgarden.
He is returned!
I like how the first second make this look like a stalker making a tribute/marriage proposal to his celebraty waifu.
So Cersei and Taena are basically the ASOIAF version of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian
Back are we and
Not paying the crown's creditors ensured not only that the Iron Bank would support Stannis, but also that no one in their right mind would lend money to Cersei's government after that default. In a situation were Westeros' treasury was almost depleted due to the war, she basically lost any capacity of of acquiring financial revenue, believing that tax revenue alone would suffice her expenditures. To be precise, it is a common misconception that several people have here in my country, Brazil - and even some tax auditors and a minority of economists. Financial expenses and financial revenue are two sides of the same coin. But people insist on believing that a sovereign default would spare 40% of the national budget, instead of noticing that 50% of it is composed of financial revenue, that would simply vanish in that situation.
This is going to be a long week, waiting for Part 3.
I think you misinterpreted Orton's Ironborn solution. He wanted to backstab Ironborn later, not to make it *officialy* non-permanent arrangement. That's why he says the part about giving Bolton Lannister armies after defeating Stannis
Isn't it obvious? Orton Merryweather and Paxter Redwyne want to build a grand navy to accompany Wolverine across the Sunset Sea because not even psychics who know everything know what's over there. She's gonna need an awful lot of crewmen to satiate her bloodlust, after all...

6:56 Hold on one minute. I thought we concluded, years ago, that Lyssa Arryn wanted Tyrion to win his trial. When I re-read the books this became so clear. So Tyrion saying she needed to sorted out is another of Tyrion's follies.

GRRM: “You shouldn’t throw away your individuality and free will by joining a hive mind” Also GRRM: “History is cyclical and repeats itself, humans are beholden to the past, their actions are outside of their control”
Always look forward to your uploads.
Love the new series. Keep it up PJ!!
Been waiting for this since part 1 came out of a dream
I like these type of videos where he takes one chapter and dissects it with that patented tinge of Preston craziness.
I'm really happy the show's behind us, now we can focus on the real deal.

Sadly it looks like those books are never gonna come out... Come on Georges we know we can't rush it but man, 9 years now :(
The ironmen are still wary of the Neck/crannogmen they wanted everything north of the Neck.... i found that funny/very interesting. They and the Frey's are the only two people/houses/group that give them respect to the crannogmen/The Neck at 10:20.
PJ on blackfire rebelion ? Can't wait for this !
So this is yet another not a lonely song video.
