This is my first attempt to recover gold.In this video I try to recover gold from 16 mixed ceramic CPU's.

    Do u use sulphuric acid to drop any lead? And if so when and about how much? Cuz I'm at the part when I need to filter out and rinse with water.

    Nope. The sulfamic acid made sulphuric acid if react with nitric acid.

    Sulfamic acid to neutralize excess nitric acid.

    So the bond wires are not disolved? Then what do u do to get the gold from the wires? Are u getting full gold expected return?

    Everything dissolved, only the ceramic left, and yes all the gold recovered.

    I'm about to do a batch 175g. Of small ceramic cpus one brand name is Honeywell and the other is Motorola I think.

    There are still values in the ceramic, you have to grind it in a dolly pot to get the wire grids. The reason you need so much SMB is you dropped dirty. You need to take out the lead and the silver before dropping the gold, you still dropped a gold alloy.

    Yep you are right, it's dirty gold indeed.But, in this video I just recovered the gold not refined.The "SMB" I used is potassium metabisulfite not sodium metabisulfite. Somebody says you need to crush them, sombody says you just need desolder the lid and the silicon dye, I don't know. But what I know my yeild was correct according to the gold content of each type cpu what I used in this recovery. Thanks for watching! 👍

    @@ogbullion ​ was your weight correct after refinement to .999? You only need exactly the the weight in SMB as the amount of gold to be dropped

    @@richardoconnor7162 I still have this litle button as it is.And I think its minimum 98-99 % pure just from the color and mirror finish according to sreetips. In the future I make a re-refining video, where all my recovered gold gets duble refining And drop with 2 different reagents.

    No, I don't recorded the silver recovery from this, only 5-6 gramms silver in this batch if I remember correctly.

    It's 38% nitric, there is no need to dilute more.

    @@raymondreyes8046 if you have 65% nitric acid you can dilute. I dont know if you dilute furter the diluted nitric acid work or not on the kovar pins.
