I've been watching your videos for about a year now. I'm glad I did. This process also works really well in purifying copper. I needed pure copper for a project and this allowed me to use junk copper I acquired legally from many different sources. Thanks. This is a lot easier than the other more energy intensive method of melting the copper. Im not even sure if melting it would purify it either because it was alloyed to begin with.

3:30 lid on a beaker reducing speed of solution evaporation near 4-5 times returning most part of liquid in the form of dripping back condensate 4:45 Evaporate solution up to slightly damp or completely dry crystals of chloroauric acid. And don't waste muriatic acid to rehydrate(redisolve) the crystals, it's better to use distilled water for this purpose.
@sreetips
Жыл бұрын
Gold dissolved in aqua regia shouldn’t be boiled. It should be evaporated slowly to a syrup then rehydrated with HCl. This is how I learned it from professional refiners on the goldrefiningforum.com - the lid on the beaker prevents gold droplets from flying out of the beaker. Of course, the best way to denoxx is to add just the right amount of nitric so there none in the gold solution.

So much for any Ir in that dental alloy. Very clean filter step. Good work! Ooo. But then you have color in the post SMB step. The Ir can complex with the HCl to form IrCl4-2. You might have dissolved it out of the puck, to send it into your Au waste volume. When you recover the Au from that waste Au stream, boil off most of the water and keep the liquid volume after you SMB treat that. That condensed liquid volume should get added to your PGM filter paper workup, once that’s all been calcined and taken up by acid. (Chuckle). ‘ Sunday going to meeting’ melt dish. 1 g difference? Ir…
@sreetips
Жыл бұрын
I’ll add that waste to my stock pot. In there the Ir will cement out onto pieces of copper. Then it can be recovered, by me. And refined, by someone else.

A gold cell? That should be an awesome video Looking forward to it
Super excited for the next video!!
Superb!
Sreetips when you said " Anode for an electrolytic gold cell " my jaw dropped! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!
Skukum little bar! Really looking forward to the gold cell video too. 👍
Forbidden Alka-Seltzer; Plop Plop Fizz Fizz oh what Aqua Regia is!
How cool would it be to see a heist film where they just use this technique to smuggle gold
A beautiful gold bar, watching the whole process never gets old. I'm looking forward to this gold cell, I wonder if we'll see pretty gold crystals like what the silver cell makes. 👍
That was amazing. What a trip, thank you
Oh yes!, I can't wait sreetips for the electrolytic gold cell, I was waiting for you to do another video like the old electrolytic gold cell you did, I'm excited for this one!,👍🏻and this video was amazing, thank you for your great video's from Ireland 🇮🇪!!!.
Yay for the electrolytic gold cell! Can't wait to see those gold crystals! 🤤🥇
Fascinating!
Woo! That turned out great.
I am so excited to see a gold cell! I’ll count this as my belated birthday (27Apr) gift.
Love your bars
Excellent.
Its amazing how pretty the gold is after refining
Thanks for another awesome video sreetips! I just can't get enough of your content. I'd love to see a placer gold refining series in an electrolytic gold cell (if that's even possible... Idk)

Working up placer Au wouldn’t be much different than him working up his scrap jewelry. I wonder if you’re talking about working up Au from a hard rock mine. THAT could be a much different thing.

I live close to the base of the Kennecott copper mine and they crush the ore and dump it over an acid resistant layer then spray it with acid to leach the metals out. What acid would they be using?
@williamfoote2888

@@lvstofly it’s not acid. It’s sodium cyanide.

@@sreetips Both methods are correct. i learned my variation from "Francois Pellier" channel. He is private analitic chemist and refiner. He uses dosens of recipes and work with all kinds precious metals bearing materials (ores, scrap elecronics, scrap jewelries, jeweller wastes, old coins, etc.)
Cant wait for the next video!!

I don’t refine gold. I have melted a whole lot of gold. That’s always satisfying. I love watching your videos. Have you ever packed that gold powder into the mold and then melted it? I would love to see a bar done like that.
Fantastic
solid pour good job. You don't boil in so4 after to clean of borax if it carried over
Hi Sreetips, are you planning any of your gold/silver recovery’s from your paper storage/stock pots? I know it’s a bunch of work and a lot of supplies, but would love to see it. Also, would love to see a garage/workshop tour and makeover Reno. I’m a long time fan and just curious, no pressure.

Working on it
So much for any Ir in that dental alloy. Ir…
@sreetips
Жыл бұрын
I’ll add that waste to my stock pot. In there the Ir will cement out onto pieces of copper. Then it can be recovered, by me. And refined, by someone else.
First 👍's up sreetips thank you for sharing
It would be cool to see you buying at the place where you were going to get the metal. The whole process I mean.
