The science was actually a really cool part of the show. It taught kids while still entertaining them. Centurions was an amazingly kick a$$ show, with even cooler toys.

Bruh, the Centurions were slept on SO hard! It was definitely ahead of it's time before t all the sciency stuff was exactly what made it dope. Smart soldiers with Lego suits that have guns & vehicles attached.👍🏾

The final plugs on science at the end of every episode of The Centurions aren't boring to me.

Having watched this in the 80's, I have to say that this was one of the better shows on air at the time.
This was the first cartoon I watched when I got cable. Forever classic
Centurions got me interested in studying science. One of the best shows from my childhood.

First watched it in the 80s. Didn't have a favorite, but I loved the concept and opening theme. Ruby Spears always had great concepts and intros, even if execution left something to be desired. I still think Goldie Gold and Action Jack was great in theory!
Saw this in the 90s. Jake Rockwell was my favorite.
I never had the toys, but loved the cartoons. I watched them growing up in the 80s. Personally, I found the science bit encouraged me to learn even more, so I could better understand what was going on.

I watched The Centurions when it first aired in the 1980's on WBNA TV Channel 21 in Louisville, Kentucky.
I started watching Centurions in the 80's. Those toys were so fun!

EXACTLY! I remember watching it when it originally came out. Then begging my Mom to buy me those toys at Toys R Us. But I forget what channel it was originally shown on though... wasn't it Cartoon Express on USA Network...or was it during the ABC Saturday Morning cartoons?
80's baby...baby! Saw the Centurions when they 1st came out!
This was (and still is) one of my 80's favorites. Between Transformers, Voltron, MASK, and this, I was in awe.
I watched that show in the mid 90s reruns on Kabel 1 in germany, in a time where you can't buy them anymore. But that don't stopped me rebuild them with Lego, mainly the technics figures
I was an 80s kid i love this show
I liked the science part, a lot, I always thought of this as the best series I saw during the 90s
First watched this as a kid in the 80s. Max Ray was my favorite for all his surface and subsurface gear! I just wish there was more to the show.
I used to watch the show all the time. I have 2 brothers and I had Ace McCloud and my younger brother had Jake Rockwell and my baby bro had Max Ray....ah, the good ol days.
My fave was Jake with Wild weasel and Detonator and Swing shot.
I still got my ACE McCloud action figure
i watched it in the 80s and still have the toys. my fave is Max Ray, because I love water.
pretty ahead of its time. I watched it in the late 80s but later got to rewatch it on Cartoon Network
I could NOT remember the name of this show and no one knew what I was talking about when I described it. THANK YOU!
Almost had the whole collection. Dope show, better than most.
I watched Centurion when it originally aired. I didn't even know it re-aired on cartoon network.

I remember my older brother had the toy of Max Ray. I was so jealous. I never did get my own, but I’ll always remember that awesome toy.
Damn this show kicked ass and I absolutely LOVED the science bits. I lived in Colombia at the time and watched the Spanish dub version.

Me too here in Puerto Rico.
Reruns in the 90s and Ace McCloud for sure.
I first heard of this show since my dad gave me a view master reel from the series as an xmas gift while the show was still on and in reruns as he loved watching cartoons. Then I saw it on cartoon network free preview on intro tv which is now retroplex. A toy line also came out too. The animation was done by sunrise who would go on to make hit anime shows and the theme song by udi harpaz was memorable and a song with lyrics is also on KZread
I am old, I watched the original airing and even got toys for Xmas. I was a max ray fanboy
Watched it in the eighties and Jake Rockwell was my favorite because I loved Detonator and Wild Weasel weapon systems.
100% Ace was my favorite
I WAS BORN IN 81' GREAT AND SIMPLER TIMES :'( AND JAKE ROCKWELL WAS MY FAVORITE I LOVED THE MOTORCYCLE SUIT!!!!!!
Do Dinosaucers!!
Great video! However, I have a couple of corrections to make. 1. The weapons were called Assault Weapon Systems. The Exo-Frames were the Centurions' uniforms, which the weapons attached to. 2. According to the writers' guide, Rex was from Minnesota, not Iceland. Depending on which bio you read, his exact birthplace was either St. Paul or International Falls.
It was in the 80's for me and my brother. The issue with growing up poor as a kid is that there's no money for the toys. But it helped with our imaginations.

I grew up poor myself putting sugar water in my cornflakes cause we didn't have milk but it worked out cause being in front of that floor model wooden tv for hours gave me piece of mind
I saw marathon of this when I was little visiting Bangladesh.
I loved this cartoon as well as C.O.P.S, Brave Starr and Sliver Hawks. The science and tech in these shows made me curious resulting in me becoming a particle physicist studying quantum mechanics. I still have these and a lot of other shows on DVD and revisit once in a while. I had a awesome childhood and miss being a kid watching great cartoons like Thundercats, Transformers, He-Man...I bet you all don't remember the Comic Strips and Darkwing Duck. My first early cartoon viewings growing up in Canada were Rocket Robin Hood and the Mighty Hercules....yes im that old lol.
On cartoon network, and my favorite was Max!!
I loved this show as a kid
I loved this show on Cartoon Network as a youngin!!!
I saw them on Cartoon network. I’m not old enough to have seen them in the 80’s. xD But I still remember that cool intro to this day. :)
I first saw Centurions on Cartoon Network, Max is my Favorite Centurion, and it's still one of my favorite shows of all time. I first saw Centurions in the mid 90s, 1995 if I recall correctly. And just a few years later I saw one of my favorite animes of all time, Outlaw Star
I still have my Jake Rockwell minus all the cool accessories and helmet. It was one of the coolest Christmas gifts in 86

Guys! Your show is now my favorite on whole KZread! You ROCK!!! 🔥🤘😎 Such a cool information about all! Thank you so much!
You are probably just being a troll to drive people to comment, but come on. The scientific elements of this show were a big inspiration for lots of people. The toys were fascinating, and the show made it clear that there were real people that got to use stuff like that. Many of my friends and colleagues chose STEM careers; because we wanted to be like Jake, Crystal and the others. Thanks for reminding me to cherish the childhood influences that inspired me to push back the borders of ignorance.
I first watched it on CN and my favorite was Ace McCloud.
The toys were incredibly awesome, I had all of them but I barely remember the show
The CEnturions and Swat Kats were my favourites growing up.
For christ sakes!!! Can SOMEONE PLEASE get me some vinyl of the bgm's for these 80's cartoons?!?! Specifically Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, The Ruby-Spears produced Superman, and Centurions. My god, there's so many more! I need them all😭😭😭

I agree. I'm sorry to the host-- you were fun in the other video I saw-- but this one threw me off. The running joke in the beginning is that the show has science and science is confusing. Honestly, even though I didn't understand it all, I loved it. But I liked the latter part of this episode more that focused more on the trivia
I'd love to see this series for the science. (Yes, I'm a geek I'd probably be Krystal...)
This would make an insane movie now. I would make it an existential movie about man and machine with a shit load of action and scifi. Starring Idris Elba or the Rock as Max Ray, Jon Bernthal as Jake Rockwell, and some pretty boy actor as Ace McLeod, someone like Ed Skrein or Scott Eastwood. And Jessica Chastain as Crystal Kane who I would make more like Doc Terrors old lab partner who has fundamental differences about technology with him and she develops the eframes that then get militarized but were meant to be something else. He wants to replace humans with cyborgs to eliminate disease and all kinds of stuff and she wants to use tech to help people but not replace them, etc etc etc. And Hacker would betray Jake's army unit who get mauled by traumatizers and he gets injured and is given a chance at payback by Max Ray. I would have this whole sequence with Jake in WildWeasel and Ace in Skyknight trying to stop Hacker from stealing a component from a futuristic bullet train at insane speed with straffers and so forth. This stuff writes itself.
Nothing could wake me 5:00 am sharp than Centurions - these were the times 😊🤘wow it's a proud feeling that so many of us here watched this as a kid and I envy those who even owed toys 🤣

I had all 3 Ace McCloud,Jake Rockwell,& Max Ray luved em
Think one of my favorite exo-suit would have been Ace McCloud's 2nd suit the stealth fighter suit.
Defenders of Dynotron City! Battletoads, Attack of the Killer Dinosaucers, Denver The Last Dinosaur, Marshal Bravestar, Defenders of Moo Mesa
Wow I love the 80,s
the best part is when Hacker and Doc's cybernetic halves united and formed a more competent villain. And when Ace and Crystal finally hooked up
Rex Charger - sour John Thunder - bitter Jake Rockwell - sweet Ace McCloud - pungent Max Ray - salty
I watch the cartoon when it aired out of the reruns and my favorite was Ace, he can fly, and i like the colors. Eventhough i liked jake as well because of the different kinds of weapon configurations he had.
I got into _Centurions_ during CN's early years, and my favorite really has to be Ace.
I looked through all the videos and I'm surprised you guys didn't do an episode on Bravestar or The Inhumanoids.
