Considering Top Gun released in May of 1986 and Galaxy Rangers debuted in September 1986, I think you're giving the film to much credit for inspiration. You don't dash out a quality animated series in 4 months.

This cartoon deserves either a continuation or a modern remake. Heck the plot of this series is so good it might even be able to make the jump to a live action adaptation. A smart company would jump all over this property.

Yea, I remember watching this as a kid. If Kevin Feigie knows what's good for him, he should by this IP immediately. A Live action Galaxy Rangers movie, produced by the Russo brothers and directed by Taika Watiti is a sure billion that doesn't affect the MCU. It's got that 80's retro vibe. A band of misfits. Spaceships. Cowboys. Strong female characters. It's got a black nerd, who is also the comic relief . Funny aliens for Instant merch. Enough obscurity to be hip but not sacred to any army of rabid fanboys. It's Star Wars without the baggage. It's also quite patriotically American while being inclusive and diverse. It's "fast and furious" in space. It's got rock. It's got EDM.

This show came out when I was nine years-old, I loved it. It probably will never get rebooted because it was a stand alone show without any association with a bigger franchise so the mainstream fanfare and popularity just isn't there. But thanks to the internet and DVD, the few fans this show has can relive their childhood fantasies over and over again.

5:54 "-carries a small portable computer named Q-Ball-"... uh, the portable computer is called a CDU, or Computer Diagnostic Unit. Q-Ball is an actual character who is the brainiac in the goggles you had on-screen in other parts of the video. He's BETA's head scientist and in charge of the Longshot Research Facility built into the walls of the Grand Canyon, featured in a handful of episodes. This is supposed to be an informative video, and you messed up on the details.

Also, your presenter/writer got hung up on the 'hummin' thing, which shows they didn't really watch the show, because by that point the audience would have been familiar with that mispronunciation being how the elephant-like Pedulonts, particularly Geezy, pronounce 'human'.

I remember watching this classic anmie series on Chicago-area cable-TV, but I think it was called 🤔, " Sabre Rider and The Star Sherriffs In The Sky !. " Is this the same series ?

the female characters on Bionic 6 and Defenders of the Earth were also the ones with the mental powers. the female character on the Cheers spin-off, Fraiser was psychic when the series started, but they basically got rid of that when people actually started to watch Frasier. Oh, and Jenny on Buck O'Hare and the Toad Wars.

Definitely one of my favorite shows but they need 1 ep that has Zack get his wife's Psycocrystal back to rescue her.

Just for the record, cueball was not docks handheld computer. Cue ball was the scientist that invented the series 5 implants and worked at beta Mountain

Western in space? I know Bravestarr released in 1987, but I think the space western cowboys concept was done better. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Galaxy Rangers.

Animated space western = Saber Riders and the Star Sheriffs (a Voltron styled show), although this one does come close. There's also Space Adventure Cobra, but that's straight up psychedelic.

My favorite american animated TV show from the 1980s part fist full of dollars, part star wars, star trek and a touch of everything else. with a great soundtrack. sadly only 1 season and basically no merchandise support.
