Cemlyn Bay - a day of wildlife Photography

At last summer has arrived so I packed my bag grabbed my camera and headed out to the Welsh coast to photograph some seabirds.
My point of call today was going to be Cemlyn Bay in Anglesey a fantastic location on the Welsh coast looking out across the Irish. There are many turns fluing back and forth, such as the Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns and Common terns, catching fish to bring back to their young nesting on the island.
Today I was going to be using some new Freewell Filters the V2 Magnetic Hybrid VND/CPL Kit that Freewell had sent me a few weeks back, I had just been waiting for some decent weather to be able to pout them into use.
They certainly did a great job and a new and vital part of my wildlife photography kit for video. If your interested in the product there is a link in the description below.
Along with the terns there are many other birds around and wildlife seals swimming along the coast, with Cormorants and gannets gliding over the waves as they passed me by truly a magnificent place to come on a day like this.
In the afternoon I headed off down the road to holly head and South stack to see if there were any puffins on the other seabirds on the sea cliffs, I wasn't disappointed sing for lovely puffins casually walking around the cliffs along with the razorbills.
With a short walk down the coast from South stack you also have the opportunity to photograph the choughs, gliding on the sea breeze along the cliffs.
A fantastic place to come for wildlife photography and seabirds.

Great video and a fantastic shot of the chough in flight, getting the exposure spot on with such a contrast between the bird and the sky wow!

You went to a lot of trouble to bring us this very natural film, Ashley, including so much of your beautiful surroundings as well as your usual expertise with slowmo and stills. Thank you again and again... truly wonderful.

Another great video, I love seeing what bird species we have in common between the UK and California. For example, we don’t have the Great Cormorant in California, but we have three others Cormorant species. We also have a number of Tern species… and yes, frustrating to lose that screw, it should be better engineered because we tend to lose things when we’re in the field..

I was at South Stack last year reminiscing of my youth when I did Dream of White Horses. Don't know if its my imagination but has the ND filter softened your footage a little bit? 9:10 no filters Looks sharp 16:05 with ND filters looks a little soft. Might be my imagination though. But you can't fault the weather. 🤣
