    Two way Wiggins is so crucial. His drive, dunk, floaters, rebounds and defense are incredibly important. With Celtics's defense without drop affecting Curry, Wiggins is so clutch. Game 6 Klay pls take us home. Let's go!!!!

    Even with Drop coverage on Steph and doubles or traps Steph still had an off night game. Missed some wide open shots and bunnies but what he did on defense and using his gravity to creates chances and space for his teammates was great. That lead to other guys getting wide open looks

    I think people are expecting Klay to go off in game 6 just because of history, but it will be a monumental task if he does. I predict him to get 25 at best. But being clutch is something we can expect.

    Weird way to put it. Teams have limited resources which they deploy strategically. The Celtics defense was specifically designed to stop Curry from scoring points himself and you don't get something without giving something up. The reason they've been trying NOT to run this defense is because you still lose.

    I wouldn’t be so confident if I was a warriors fan. The Celtics have shown time and time again through grit and grind in the playoffs that we should never underestimate them. All it takes is for Tatum or Brown to go off and Curry and Thompson to choke in Game 6 to force a Game 7. And if it gets to that game 7, it’s every man for themselves. Curry has had his history of folding in big time moments and is not much of a closer so I’ll be very excited to see what ends up happening in this great legacy defining series.

    Wiggins being the number one option in Minnesota for a while really shows during possessions in these games. Step backs, post-ups, fadeaways, pull-ups, and little hooks. He really is like a suped-up Harrison Barnes. Great secondary shot creator, excellent defender, and great rebounder. He’s even missing wide open jump shots like it’s 2016 (half-joking). In this thread: Lots of people who still don't get it. The Celtics changed their defense to take away Curry's points and make other people score. The problem is, you have to overcommit resources which leaves a lot more space for people like Wiggins to free up. The Celtics have been hoping not to have to do that this series because you don't have to be a superstar to score at the NBA level with 4x4 spacing, but Curry has been demolishing them trying to play straight up.

    @K Kwill lol... With all that you said, it's really Boston's turnovers that have done them in, particularly POT... If Boston took care of the ball a lil more, the Cs would have won atleast 1more game so far... Problem is, the Cs are playing GS like an Eastern Conference team, that has a All-star wing or slasher... Instead, Boston needs to play 1big and move Tatum to PF position... Immediately, this creates more space, and also gives Tatum a better match-ups in the game... Further, GS has no answer for Rob athleticism at the 5, if the Cs just looked for him more, outside of lobs... A couple of drop off passes to him, that allows him to just elevate over the defense, would really cause GS some problems! These changes, I believe, would completely change the series...

  • @coreyorr8071

    @coreyorr8071

    2 жыл бұрын

    @K Kwill Never said that... However, Boston's turnover problem has been well documented... So it's not just GSs defense that's causing the problem... With Smart starting at the point, we don't have a traditional guard that can break down the defense and survey for the open man... This leads to Brown and Tatum setting up the offense too much and iso ball that leads to bad possessions. This is further complicated by not having great spacing with to 2 bigs playing... However, the Cs have been outstanding defensively with this unit, because of the positional size and switchability of this unit... But facing GS, the Cs really don't need the positional size advantage as much, especially since we are struggling offensively... But you are right, Boston has been falling for Fool's Gold, with the 3 point shot! That's why I think they need to go smaller and more athletic to create more opportunities in the paint and get JT on a better match-ups...

    I think Wiggins took the spotlight but many guys came clutch when it mattered. Poole going off late in the third, make the buzzer beater and Klay going off in some key moments of the 2nd half, playing aggressive defense. Draymond also scoring in the 1st half and playing great defense throughout the game. Curry also played elite on defense and using his gravity to get others easy looks. Boston literally put a defender on curry's face and accepted to defend all half-court 4 on 4. Curry just got a little bit back and get his defender out of the zone. All this situation really turns into a phenomenon. this only works in the first half of the game. after a while, you have to give up this tactic and bring back the 5th defense and hope that curry doesn't find his rhythm in the remaining short time. Otherwise, the rest of the team somehow finds a way to beat you. Even this was a match where gsw had a hard time finding a finisher at certain moments. Boston may not be this lucky in game 6 if they continue to give up 5th defender all game long.

    You can find on KZread one of Curry’s college games where the other team double-teams him for the whole game, even when he didn’t have the ball! So Curry just ran to whatever part of the court the ball wasn’t on, drawing away two defenders, and the rest of his team crushed the opponents by playing 4 on 3 for the whole game. Curry will gladly step back and hand the ball over to whoever’s hot, he’s never been a ball hog. Throwing extra defensive resources at Curry just means he’s helping free up the rest of the offense.

  • @bayJBE

    @bayJBE

    @@ijustyap Yeah, but they missed opens 3's. I think it is safe to claim that wiggins could make 2 or 3 3-point shots. But he couldn't make those shots. Also even though klay hit 5 3-point shots but could hit more. Or Steph may be better next time even if they defend him that well. So that means at least adding 10 more difference. The problem here is that the strategy lowers the ability to defend the paint or pass angles.Because the other 4 players can move much more easily in such a field, which is something that a team playing motion offense will happily accept. Lets remember how clevland defend curry when they get the championship. They made almost same thing. They had no as good guard defender as boston has right now so they doubled curry in first half of the games. Rather than what Clevland did, Boston put a guy near him in almost every position. But at one point they stoped this strategy and began to defend others too. Because there are little time left, curry strageled to get his rhtyme even there isn't second defender on his face anymore and others couldn't make shoots as much as they did at the beginning of the games since they were defended more tightly. I don'ts say it's a bad strategy. I just thing you should know when to leave it and rely on time left.

    Good breakdown. You didn't say enough about Wiggins though. The idea that Curry's gravity created all of Wiggins' opportunities is an overstatement. Wiggins impact on game 5 tipped the series in GS' favor. Playing both sides of the ball impressively. Hopefully you are doing a video on it.

    To be fair, Wiggs has always been consistent when it comes to being aggressive and helping Steph. But compared to the first 4 games where the defensive prowess of the Celtics stopped a lot of his shots, game 5 became relatively easier because of Steph's influence. Of course, Wiggs deserves a huge appreciation for leading the team in scoring when Steph couldn't but the game changer here was definitely still Steph, even though he had an off night. I think that was the point of the breakdown.

  • @denniszenanywhere

    I doubt if you saw the video. He's not saying ALL of Wiggins' opportunities, he's simply saying Curry's gravity opened up his teammates, especially Wiggins. It's the formula used before with Harrison Barnes and Iguodala, then with KD now with Wiggins. It's a great formula and it opens up the 3rd scorer in the team -- the power forward position.
