I’m from New England. And IF the Boston Celtics win the NBA finals, it should absolutely come with a huge asterisk. Let Boston play without Tatum or Brown, or in some circumstances both 😅… and see how well that goes. It’s not Boston’s fault, they have to play who’s in front of them, but to play every single team without their superstars is incredibly fortunate. The Celtics SHOULD win the title; and over the years people will probably forget why they did or how. BUT…in the here and now, yeah objectively speaking; why would they feel proud about what they’ve“accomplished” when every other team is not even close to 100%

The mavs are killing the t wolves in the pick and roll. They just don’t have the versatility on defense to guard the one two punch Luka and kyrie bring. It allows the mavs to completely control the pace of the game. The Celtics have the bodies to switch , to rotate and defend the lob. The flip side of that is the mavs can’t defend the Celtics. The Celtics in 6 and only because they will probably have a game or two where they inexplicably don’t defend on the perimeter. If the Celtics go to the level they’re capable of they should honestly sweep or take it in 5. This is not a knock on the mavs either. Luka and kyrie are amazing and they really do have the ability to hit really tough shots on a consistent basis. I just feel like the worst matchup for the mavs is Boston. More so than any other team.

Celtics would be the 6th best team in the West, behind Denver, Minn, Dallas, OKC, and Lakers. They will probably win the first game of the finals and probably one more. They swept Dallas, got swept by Denver, and split the other series. But the April 3 blowout of OKC was a throw-away game for OKC. Mavs in different form now than Mar 1 against Celtics. Lakers were in a lot better form in late season; just ran into the wrong team. Nuggets against Celtics would have been a sweep for sure.
