Has anyone noticed that her high belts have actually gotten more free/resonant as she's aged? She used to pinch the high notes a bit and now they are pretty resonant.

As she got older her technique improved. The biggest change happened after she recorded taking chances. On takin chances tour her technique was even better then when she recorded the album.

F5 seems to be her sweet spot. She sounds great in that area.
Celine's range is out of this world
I love Celine, the best female singer for me. I seen her last year in Scotland, she was amazing. I can’t even blow up a balloon 🎈😔 Oh to sing like that
D5 is really her sweet spot
I Love and will always LOVE Celine. She is one of my highest inspirations.I can't say how many times i've sang "The Power Of Love".Just an incresibly beautiful woman, with a blessed voice, thank u lord.I hope reads this,I wish to sing with her one day:);DHahaha.
Her G5 and the run following it was eargasmic in divas live
Celine Dion is one of the best singers on earth. Raspy low notes with some airy texture, nasal smooth and thick midrange, crystal clear resonant and powerful mid and upper belts, and smooth soft falsetto and head voice and perfect pitch all from a full lyric soprano
fantastic singer, she always touches my heart thanks Celine
i love how she hits her notes so effortlessly.....
Why do people insist on arguing in the comments. Give each other your twitters/facebooks/emails ect and hash it out there. But no you don't, because it's not that serious. Chill out.
Thank you so much for sharing such an informative video. Best to you and your loved ones during this holiday season and always. 🎄❤️🎁🎉🙏
I was watching a special program about celine in brazil, in 2001, and then I could see the recording session of "the reason".. I said to myself just after she hitting that Eb5 - "this the best singer i've ever seen." - and so, 'till now I didn't change my mind. She's da best!
The lady marmalade F5 is fucking amazing........
Actually,that's a 3 octave ,one note and 1 semitone. :)
It is ridiculous about how many of these celine stans will say she has a 4 to 6 octave range. I cant believe the ignorance of people and how they just act like they know everything. Nice video, great notes!
Sublime! Perfect in every way and still going strong. Love this woman :)
It was worth to wait for it long time. Amazing video Thanks.

I do not mind what trolls say about Celine Dion's voice, I think she has THE BEST voice in popular music.
5:17 My fav note lol
Wow I love Celine. She is the queen of high belts and long notes!
One of the best mainstream voices ever! Thanks for sharing.
I think she meant it's limit for her to sustain pure chest F5 for such a long time. Not just hitting pure chest F5 but sustained it with power like she did in studio ABM. And people say she struggled with E5 from ABM live performance. It wasn't all about key of the note, E5, but about whole note, it's lenght, power, transitions to vibrato etc.
i love that all the pics are from diffrent ages
Great job, I love the added notes! xx! :D:D
2:55 Her best belt ever
I came here to appreciate her range is. Some Celine stans in this comment section are so toxic. If you gonna compare Celine to Mariah, we would too. I'm just gonna say... that's such a short range.
THIS ladies & gentleman is what a true DIVA is! =)
Celine is The Queen!!!!
Your vocal range grows with practice, and I wouldn't doubt that perhaps 15 years ago that high F was the top of her chest range.
i love Celine's voice
Great Job, I realy like this!!
...and I just hit an F5. Wow. Thank you, Celine, for bringing my voice out of me.

Actually the most powerful belting voice is South Korean gospel singer SoHyang who can belt up to D6 in mixed-voice, but she loves Celine and is a big fan of hers.

Pete Flores you are absolutely wrong.
Celine is not perfect too, but as a belter, she butchers Mariah. In divas live 98 Mariah was scared and obviously overwhelmed by the powerful belts by Celine and Aretha.

I like Celine too but if you dint watch where Mariah explained it was time for Aretha to shine and Mariah literally played a roles like a background singer n not outshining the queen of soul. Saying Mariah was scared is totally your hate not fact.

Celine Dion é maravilhosa pra segurar notas ❤
8:46 she did a bit of scat singing like that in On ne change pas on the Star Academie show in 2012, although it was a lot lower and it's one of the prettiest things I've ever heard. It was during a huge medley of her songs but it's like the second song in the medley, so it's easy to find and listen to. I wish she'd use her head voice and add stuff like that into other songs because it's always great when she does it.
These high notes are vocally taxing, you can see and hear her struggling at certain points.
Sem dúvidas a melhor cantora de todos os tempos.
INCREDIBLE *--*

she is great!

wonderful video i mean this is just pure rich talent from someone who not only sings and performers but truly lives her music. :) Just to ask does anyone know the song she is singing on her second Bb5 note, I cant get that part of the video out of my head it was so perfect. :)
The first 2 A5s was from the song "It's a man's world" live at Taking Chances Tour
@CDionLive thank you!
Yes.
Damn, she is amazing!
A New Day Has Come
Question for singing experts what are the different categories of these vocal types Alto Mezzo High soprano
Nobody can do it like Celine
Oh God ... She's amazing ... Like Whitney Houston ... they two are the best singers in the world !
adore her
i love head vocie;;; very clear !!!!!!
Yep.
Queen
3:51 :o Dear God ! >.
@CDionLive thank you so much :)
I've taught some voice, yes. I'm no extreme expert, but I'm pretty good at voice identification. As for Lara Fabian, I would say she is a soprano, but a fuller lyric type than Celine's. There's not quite enough power in the high register to be considered a spinto, but it's a lot more than a light-lyric. Her breaks also lie about a semi-tone lower than a usual soprano's, so she's somewhere between a lyric and a spinto soprano. It's sort of a "mixed" voice type.
@94sweet The song is "Fever" and yeah, it's from Vegas
Astonishing. Lucky for me, I've managed to be able to hit some of her notes, like the F5 at 4:58. Also, I can hit "My Heart..." quite easily, and I can ALMOST nail "All By Myself". Need to work on it, though.
queen.
OH GOD SHE'S THE BEST
it such a thrill
EXACTLY! It all depends on how a note is sang. Of course there will be some notes that sound more heady, and some notes that sound way more chesty. Not all of Celines notes above Eb5 are head driven, as obvious by this video.
Exactly!!
@bunkai23 yes i did... i also want to hear celine hitting those notes...if only i can find any ill post it here to show that celine also Can hit those notes..
thats true!
@bma121089 that excerpt is from a live performance of the song "THINK TWICE" from her THE COLOUR OF MY LOVE album {1993}.
Mans world.
Lol! Thanks! I feel like, it's evident that she doesn't have to mix, but it's good she does as she is in such great shape vocally. What I think is silly is saying she is always headstrong in her high mixes, which isn't always the case. Anyway, doesn't matter. This is a nice vid, Isn't it? :P
@corrazy Love Can Move Mountain and Call The Man.. I can't remember where she perform them though
what a relevant question!! :))
in a way you are right because falsetto does tend to sound as more monotonous in color/dynamic but the thing is properly trained operatic female singers are known to produce pianissimos with the help of falsetto, and they actually know how to 'blend' or even out the passagio so there is no break and instead sounds seamless in tone production.
@scramasboy I was not talking about the whitney of today i was refering to her in her prime.
Hehe, exactly. I'm Celine fan and I really know her songs, interviews, performances etc. but I've never heard interview with those words about Xtina...
Yes, but it also says discovered by VARIOUS sources which means it is also shown on other websites.
The first song "Have You Ever Been In Love"
thanks :D
i like her A5 for some reason
yeah tell'em
Are first and second F5s from this video head-driven too? IMO first F5 was chesty, good and with vibrato, and it was few months ago.
@mikestratus1 it's "I surrender" from the live dvd concert from Las Vegas.
Inapologize for the earlia disagreement. And I thank u for this vid.I'm using this video to help me with my range and vocal control.
@ benladeenful,if you watch that performance of knock on wood, you ll see that she actually hit 2 E6s,the first one is hit after a belted Eb/E5.she jumped one octave higher.
Lowest note was A2. Her producers said when she was singing the song 'Naked' in studio that she hit a B6 in super head voice but was unable to be heard from back-up singers. Also she was sick when she sang that song in studio.
Love Can Move Mountains
The Bb5-C6 were heavily based in head. They remind me of my own voice when I'm imitating Patti Labelle lol! Great video, great voice, great vocalist :)
