I still haven't fully processed that this is real.
A few weeks ago I decided to start a grind for a new hardest golden. I wanted to really push my limits by going for a relatively big difficulty jump : my hardest goldens were low t3s (of which I have 3), so I went for a low t2. Glyph is a banger, and so is the D-side, so that's the level I chose.
The difficulty is pretty evenly split across the map. It's slightly backloaded, but most maps are. I would rank the cps like this, from hardest to easiest : 5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
My progress on the golden started pretty normally. After about a week of learning and doing all cps deathless, I started doing golden runs, but mixed them with bigger segment practice since I knew I would have to get more training on the later cps before I would have a chance to get the golden.
Before this session, my PB was the first room of cp3. Earlier in the session I got a small PB by 1 room, but this PB continued into a 5 deaths run with 3 deaths to final room. That was already a huge achievement (my previous lowdeath was 9). A bit later, I was about to end the session but still wanted one more cp2 entry since I felt like I was unlucky with that cp. This "last cp2 entry" is the run you're watching.
So yeah. I fluked almost 60% of the map.
I never imagined this would ever happened. This was day 10 of a grind that I thought would take me at least twice longer. I had never even done cp4+5 in a single segment before (despite spending most of the last 2 sessions on that segment). When this run beat my PB I was happy. When I passed FAF-7 (one of the hardest rooms of cp3) it was already a huge PB. When I reached cp4 it was an incredible fluke. When I reached cp5... I couldn't even process it.
Only when I reached the chase section (EX-9) did I start considering that maybe this was *the* run. Still, I could have very well died to the last room, which is imo the hardest room of the map (mostly due to the demohyper into downdash into rev wave at 18:17). But on that day I was gaming like never before.
