Because wearing a Ceasefire pin to such a huge platform would show clear support for the cause and spread awareness. Also imo boycotting is only effective for consumer stuff like Starbucks, Boycotting a popular event like Oscars where you know lot of powerful people are going to be present isn't really meaningful tbh...more likely it'll give impression that the star is too scared to speak out against Israel.
