Lyrics:
I used to float, now I just fall down
I used to know, but I'm not sure now
What I was made for
What was I made for?
Takin' a drive, I was an ideal
Looked so alive, turns out I'm not real
Just somethin' you paid for
What was I made for?
'Cause I, I
I don't know how to feel
But I wanna try
I don't know how to feel
But someday, I might
Someday, I might
Mm, mm, ah
Mm, mm, mm
When did it end? All the enjoyment
I'm sad again, don't tell my boyfriend
It's not what he's made for
What was I made for?
'Cause I, 'cause I
I don't know how to feel
But I wanna try
I don't know how to feel
But someday, I might
Someday, I might
Think I forgot how to be happy
Somethin' I'm not, but somethin' I can be
Somethin' I wait for
Somethin' I'm made for
Somethin' I'm made for

I'm a 54 year old male who wouldn't call himself a fan of contemporary music, but watching this haunting Oscar performance completely overwhelmed me accompanied by tears running down my face. One of the most beautifully composed and written pieces I've ever heard in a very, very long time leaving an indelible mark. Was happy for their well-deserved win. They've gained a new fan. Well, as a singer, I think she was really scared or stressed, and that impacted her breath support when she started the performance, but she became confident after looking at her brother. And yes, people think hitting high notes is difficult (yes, some are indeed), but singing in that style requires a lot of breath control to remain on pitch all the time and avoid nasality or straining. She did a great job without in-ear monitors on top of that.

This song really moves me. I was a happy child, but after my teens and coming of age I just rarely felt happy. Always felt lacking, and not good enough. Never did find my place in the world or with anyone special. Now that I’m old, I’m finally free of all that striving, and now I’m happier. Strange how that could be. I don’t suppose that’s uncommon though and many people feel exactly as I have.

I did my job as a provider and paid my child support and alimony. Health insurance. We went out to dinner all the time and she came over but we never really connected again. I miss her more than anything in my life. My soul hurts. Its a pain i cant explain. I love you kid and always have your back. Only the best wishes for you. This song I heard the day she left. Jesus loves you ❤️ so so much. It is his desire to be with you. He longs for you. All you have to do is repent and give up all sin to follow him. His word says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." If you are going through anything, he is right there waiting for you, constantly waiting for you to come to him. God gave up everything he loved through his son Jesus just for the chance that you might love him back. He is waiting with open arms. And time is short. These are the last days. I say all this because I care and don't want any of you to perish and neither does he. Please turn to him and repent now while there is still time. He loves you. The God of all creation actually loves you. There are things that don't always make sense in this life, things that cause us to blame God, and believe me I've been there too over some extremely heart-wrenching situations but he is a God who will never leave us nor forsake us so long as we stay with him. He is the complete expression of love. Just give him a chance. His heart longs for you. He chose you when he planned creation. You are not a mistake. His thoughts towards you outnumber the grains of sand. He died for you. The God of all creation let himself be nailed to a cross and suffer for you so you don't have to. Please make the right decision to repent and turn to Jesus to receive salvation now while there is still time, because it is almost the end. All you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth and say "God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of your Grace. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please forgive me God for all my sins and please come into my heart and my life Jesus. I confess that Jesus is Lord and I make you Jesus, Lord and saviour of my life in Jesus name. Amen." Also be on the lookout for the mark of the beast soon to come. This will be something that ALL will be required to take either on/in their right arm or forehead and will be necessary to buy and sell things and essentially live. No matter what, do not take this mark because those who take it may be beyond saving.

Her voice is so soft yet skillful. Many criticize her because it sounds like shes just whispering, but its so hard to sing in this tone and still be technical with her vibratos and all.

Those who say she sounds like she's "just whispering" are tone deaf, deaf-deaf, or are simply mistaking her for Dido. HA 😁

I for real have no idea how she can sing that without crying. It brings me to tears every time I hear her sing it. And it's both happy and sad tears. Her voice just hits that spot omg it's so insanely BEAUTIFUL. Sheer perfection!

So true. My voice would be cracking up mid-song, if I were her. Due to the lump in my throat, triggered by thinking about the lyrics
