Some commentator once wrote: "If I say that you have just peered through the lock of the door into a vast universe, you will probably not believe it, but what you have seen is only a pale shadow of what is hidden behind the door. You just discovered the most amazing voice ever. And this is not just my opinion. This is a fact. Get ready for a rollercoaster. Dimash is perfect in all musical genres - pop, opera, rock, R&B, folk, rap and whatever else you can think of. He is a composer, plays 7 instruments, sings in more than 12 languages, and his range is the whole piano and more. And in every octave he sounds perfect. Dimash is unique. He graduated from the music conservatory with pop and opera singing. He will soon receive his Ph.D. He likes to mix styles and genres, so in one piece you can taste all aspects of his voice. On top of that he is just 29. Soon will turn 30. So, a very warm welcome to the madness called Dimash. 😂 Just don't forget to turn on the subtitles, because the lyrics to all his songs are extremely meaningful."

This song is a pearl of the French songbook: It is a French-Canadian cyberpunk-rock opera called “Starmania”, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Gregory Lemarchal. The theme of the song is depression: In the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song, which serves to show the psychological instability of the afflicted character: From the chest voice to the head voice and then to falsetto, the author sought to show a broad need to overcome a moment of despair and the pretense of accepting to reach a higher perspective! Dimash, currently at his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who have departed this world! Original version - Daniel Belavoine - kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5-O16ahpbfRqKg.html

He started Classical at ~16 and graduated at 20 with a degree in Bel Canto. He trained as a tenor, his Classical teacher called him a tenor, but during those years, before classes, he would sneak in empty rooms of the school and practice with soprano arias. The teacher, when coming to school, would hear Dimash practicing, and then as soon as he went through the school gate or door, he would hear Dimash stop. Always meant to ask Dimash how knew that he had arrived at the school, but always forgets. Then, the teacher would walk up the stairs, and see Dimash zooming somewhere in the distance, from one room to the next, thinking that he would get scolded. The teacher never scolded him, but he didn`t openly encourage him either. But Dimash worked through the years of voice changing, kept his range, worked on the soprano range and tone of his voice. Probably because he was intent on keeping and perfecting as many tools for expression as possible. I think that this is what sets him apart among other male artists, his mind and imagination and artistic intent and "appetite". His mother studied with the same teacher, people call her a soprano, probably by register, not sure if she ever was part of an opera house, she sang more popular songs, in a semi-classical style, together with Dimash`s father, who sang in full pop-folk style. But, as someone commented, Dimash had her singing voice as inspiration, starting from the womb :) No wonder he wanted to use it for artistic expression, give to others the sweetness and tenderness that part of the range can transmit. Dimash is good friends with his teacher to this day, values his opinion the most, and through the years many times he asked him for advice in solving tricky vocal elements. Thank you for the video :) I love listening to your analysis.

Cecilia, you touched on the ability of Dimash to cause listeners to interact with him emotionally. I have been listening to him since the China Singer series in 2017. DK is at another unheard level as to performance and quality in crossing over into any genre. Many of us Dears appreciate that we are living in times that he is alive and giving. To me he is a "soul menderer" in that he enters your being, captures, caresses, and massages past the veneer of hurt and pain releasing in some small way to allow one to heal knowing there is purity and goodness in this world. Dimash is a welcomed relief in these troubled times and I have not even attempted to delve into the humanity of this outstanding performer. Thank you for your review. It serves him well.

Wonderful analysis. ❤ I like how you interpreted his expression based on the lyrics. I‘ve subscribed. 😊 I guess as an Opera singer you might be interested in his duet with Plácido Domingo: Au Fond Du Temple Saint. It was a last minute decision to sing this and they had little time to prepare. ( basically one or two days day and they only rehearsed once together) Domingo sang the supporting Baritone part, because he can’t sing tenor anymore (or so he claims) 😅 Still it turned out beautifully: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lo2hp8Wkes2eo84.htmlsi=PuPQO1SbboKt7RTk ❤ Another recommendation would be his newest Omir performance with his brother Mansur. Please turn on the subtitles, if you react to it. The music changes and contrasts with the lyrics. It’s very beautiful and emotional. This makes me cry a lot 😅 kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2x9udeBc8Wynco.htmlsi=8UR-3fggTOdIe-q9

So there may well be heaps of Dimash's getting around amusing our hungry senses, in all areas of life. So keep watch and raise your expectations to higher than the level of dreams, and enjoy the future that we are on the brink of.

This was a 3hr LIVE digital concert for his fans during lockdown ✨🤍✨ Thank 🆘 The song itself is from Starmania a Canadian-French cyberpunk rock opera written in 1976. 👼🏻 Gregory Lemarchal was a young French singer who was the inspiration for DIMASH to sing 🆘 “SOS d'un terrien en detresse" Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a young age, Gregory defined all odds and won the fourth series of the singing contest Star Academy. He became an overnight sensation in France and went on to have a successful career. He was known for "La voix d'un ange"- the voice of an angel. Gregory succumbed to his illness at the age of “23💔” This video is a tribute to his memory. 💔❤️‍🩹❤️ So that there in no confusion as too “WHY DIMASH” sings this song. It is in the “Tribute to Gregory” and his message. The meaning of the lyrics in Gregory’s life are what holds Dimash’s heart✨🤍✨ THE STORY BEHIND 🆘 👼🏻”Angel Gregory" & Dimash SOS d'un terrien en detresse 🇫🇷 French with subtitles kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqSftMiCgMytgpc.html IT’S WHERE DIMASH GETS HIS ✨“ANGEL WINGS”✨ The most impressive part is his ✨ “Honor & Spirit” ✨ ❤️2U&ALLU❤️🦌🦌💫🌎🕊️🇺🇸

Most of that you asking about his background is on youtube and the internet. You can search for that and learned most of what you asked about it. His grandmother was an opera singer as well as his mother, dad sings contemporary songs. He started on instruments at 3 or 5 and had professional help from then on. There are some on youtube when he was a teenager. He also has his own site which has a lot of his videos. As well as his singing, I would say that he has the best stage performances of any singer that I have ever seen or heard, his transitions are flawless.

This song was part of a “digital concert” Dimash provided to his fans during the COVID-19 pandemic when so many were crushed that he had to cancel so many concerts. Dimash really loves his fans. Dimash is the most complete voice in the history of music. Right now you haven’t seen anything, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you keep listening to him you’ll realize why he’s the best. I’m not just saying it, experts from around the world agree there is not and there was no other voice. From an Italian man named Unico Unici, I leave you this reflection of what Dimash means in music: I have known Bel Canto [the Italian-originated vocal style that prevailed throughout most of Europe during the 18th and early 19th centuries] since I was born. (Dimash was trained in Bel Canto for many years.). Let’s make one thing clear: Dimash is not only good in this or that field, in this or that aspect of singing, Dimash is the sound field, Dimash is the totality. This is no longer about octaves (7 and 3 semitones known by now), whistle registers (as you have heard), or even more than simple, huge vocal technique, Dimash has an historically epic voice. To be clear, his voice is like what is called in biology a stem cell. In this sense it is a “mother voice”. Any type of tissue can be generated from this cell. Its transitions are such that the transition no longer exists. Dimash does not sing the different genres (opera, rock, pop, also rap, jazz, neoclassical, crossover etc…) Dimash already has, from the beginning, all the genres. In his case the musical genres are nothing more than a coloratura, an inflection, a decline of his general voice. The same applies, of course, to all your voice recordings. This also leads to the fact that he sings in several languages (16 languages). The different national languages are nothing more than subspecies of their general senority.

Thank you for giving vent to so many different aspects of Dimash and everything that he does as a vocalist and performer. Also, I thank you for giving credit to the original composer and lyricist. The adjustments here made to this song is in itself also incredible. Dimash has so much experience that he is able to work on a piece in extremely limited time and come up with his incredible vocal rendition and performance. In short, he is a true master vocalist. Taylor, this is my first time listening to a reaction video of yours. You had such a lot to say, so there is a lot to take in but your entire reaction is 100% worth it. It has so much depth in it as well. I truly love it. Well done. Gregory

Welcome back CECILIA 😁 As opera singer,You self cud post review on Dimash? Dimash Qudaibergen/Maestro PlacidoDomingo(83 old)-Pearl Fishers Duet, kzread.info/dash/bejne/lo2hp8Wkes2eo84.html&start_radio=1 This is a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo. He dreamed from then to now to meet and work with the Maestro. This was part of a program called Virtuosos, which supports young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge on the program by Maestro Domingo. I know he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are all do proud of him and hope all his dreams come true. Dimash learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal.

Димаш готовил эту песню не один год. Он спел её первой на конкурсе в Китае. Это самые первые слова песни, важные. Почему я живу, почему я умираю? Je vis.

Welcome back! If you would like to see the progression of Dimash singing SOS, there is a video that shows him singing it from about 2015-2021, It's very interesting and you can see how he gets better and better. It would make an interesting but very long reaction. Maybe you could pick the oldest version, a middle version and a recent one and discuss them. 🇨🇦

Nice to see you back! What you said about opera singers being forced into "assembly line conformity" is interesting. Dimash did a duet with Placido Doming in December, and some opera singers as well as some vocal coaches complained that he wasn´t singing fully operatically. Yet his part sounded extremely beautiful of course (apart from the problem that Dimash doesn't know French so that his pronunciation was rather bad; but who cares if a voice is so outstandingly beautiful). For this reason I would love to hear your view of Dimash´s performance. I think if expression and beauty calls for it, a deviation from the strict rules of operatic singing should be welcomed.

Welcome to Dimash´s world His name sounds: Dimash accented “mash” and accented /´gen. He is from Kazakhstan. He uses techniques from opera, modern lyric, ethnic, glam, hard rock and pop environments. Registers don´t apply to his voice. Not only male voice, no female voice, no alien voice: Dimash´s voice. He connects to the lyrics and adds textures to his voice accordingly. To get the full meaning look for a subtitled version of each; so next time you can react to these videos of his signature songs with english subtitles, good image and sound: * Dimash - Greshnaya strast (Sinful passion) by A'Studio kzread.info/dash/bejne/iW16zqaGc9KefLg.html * Dimash - Love is like a dream (Alla Pugacheva) kzread.info/dash/bejne/qoB5s9yfobLFnJM.html * Dimash- Olimpico WorldSkills Kazan 2019 (Ogni pietra) KZ_RU_GE_EN SUBS kzread.info/dash/bejne/eax6z5KgnbbAkrQ.html “SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.

I would love to see you react to Avi Kaplan. Avi is a classically trained Basso Profundo and became the bass for Pentatonix many years ago. He remained with them for 6 years before having a complete mental breakdown from the overwhelming schedule the group kept. He left PTX in 2017 and has spent the last few years. writing and living in his cabin deep in the forests of Tennessee on his 1000 acre property. The place he writes, and heals. He finally began touring in 2021 but then covid hit. Back at it in 2022 but took 2023 off to rest then back at it later this year. He released a new solo single about healing. Avi Kaplan Healing (Kaplan) kzread.info/dash/bejne/n6SEt8mom9bNado.html Love your reactions to Dimash.
