    Richard Harfield designed you mean at most the frame and shape of the plastics, cause the rest of the design .... and assembled you mean bolt on some big parts already assembled in italy (forks), china (engine, fairing, fuel tank, fuel pump, seat, airbox, instrument cluster, radiator etc), germany (injector, gearbox, ecu) etc ....... so, even by your definition ...... I would love you to truly make a spitfire and blast the sht out of the fat overpriced messerschmitts not bolt them in UK and put on a false flag. but i'm a nobody so i dont count ....... kzread.info/dash/bejne/YqKbp7aRqKyboMo.html :)))

    One main thing that CCM took also very seriously is the low seat option of a 31inch height! they do care about short riders! were Japanese manufacturers doesn't seem to think of. i would buy , but dam it there's no CCM Dealer here!

    Indeed. And that’s partially why it didn’t work out for them. But that caused CCM to go in a totally different direction and become a manufacturer of poser bikes that only pretend to be what they’re called. Example: ‘Scrambler’! Ludicrous, yet now everyone seems to be all damp panties over them!! What a shame. I’m in the process of designing a modified CCM 604 frame based lightweight adventure bike with a BMW F650GS Dakar engine that I’m converting to carburettor for simplicity. Arguably, that’s what a real adventure bike should be. Any dependence upon electronics that can go wrong at any time (such as EFI and suspension setups), but can never be fixed at the roadside are a huge liability. Many prevent the bike from even being started! Pointless so-called ‘climate’ legislation has killed bikes as they should be. No new bikes today are worth buying because they have early obsolescence built in. Ride safe.

    MCN's production is so poor when you compare their videos with US and Australian magazines. They really need to sort out their microphones. Nice bike though. I heard orders will shipped in March 2014.

    Nice bike, however at Seven gran and a bit for a base model it's a bit trumpy.. That ancient Bema engine is rubbish, it would be nicer with a Rotax lump, which we all know are bomb proof. The price would have been in the stratosphere then I suppose. No need to dump my old XT 500 yet which still rumbles on...

    450 will struggle on roads if you have a lot of luggage or a pillion. Although its probably still far better than the silly 1000+'s for the majority of situations.

    This bike could be the best compromise possible for an adventure bike, but the engine is too small and probably not so reliable for long trips. Probably a Ktm 690 Enduro with a confortable saddle and a good windshield is even the better choice...

    This is an all alloy 130kg bike for carring You and your RTW gear. Not ment to be ridden TWO up with a fat lady on the back. The 450 is more than capable on the normal roads - on longer trips one does not need more than 120-130 KM/h top speed anyhow. Sad to see though that people still expect something like that from true adventure bike. (not mammothism). The 17 litre tank could be better though.

    Ccm make race winning off road bikes, they have top quality frames, brakes , suspension and fuelling so it's going to be more expensive but also better and more reliable, if you're going round the world I know which I would prefer.

    So you'd rather go around the world, hundreds of thousands of miles, on one of those 270kg busses that the call "adventure bikes" then? Rather you than me. Give us a call when you drop one and need an extra two peopl to help you pick it up. The reality is that serious adventure riders usually prefer smaller bikes. Yamaha WR250 is a bit of a round-the-world trip legend.

    8k? too much

  • @apoapsisperiapsis
    @apoapsisperiapsis11 жыл бұрын

    Yes, really. Most of the current adventure bikes are nothing more than road tourers with off road styling hues. Far more people do world scaling adventures across countries without tarmac roads, on bikes like the a dr350, than on bikes like the 260kg triumph explorer, which is wholly inappropriate for such a task. Hence why CCM opted for the 450. The GS's they used on the longway round were completely inappropriate too, as they found out when claudio bought a shitty little local russian bike.

    BMW engine copy by Kymco hey... What can we discover... if we dig more... perhaps another "agreement" to use original British brands in order to implant their wonderful Xing Xong crap, at lower prices (or not) depending on the brand name.
