I'm genuinely impressed with their courage and strength to survive and do whatever it takes to make a living for their family and keep their community running. I can't begin to imagine what it's like tackle such difficult, complicated jobs with almost no resources and probably very little training. I'd challenge anyone in a first world country to try that. Kudos and thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't quite say "not trained.." Some of these guys started out as kids sweeping and cleaning up then were taught more by helping the elders. Its VERY much hands on and "Tribal Knowledge". They make their own tools to fit the needs they have to get the job done! Whether its "Right" or "Wrong' doesn't matter if it works.. and it seems to work. Works better than what I can do with Snap On, KZread, and a manual....
Good their very serious and carefully in job

It is a dump!!! Luckily they are working with all safety standards😂 i always wonder why it is so hard to try to work cleaner and a bit safer. I think lots of people list toes and fingers. “ fixing “ a transmission in these conditions: i wonder how long it will last😔just a shame of all the work. Totally unnecessar☹️

I'm sure Caterpillar would state in their service manual to find somewhere very dirty then open up the casing. Then bang the start on concrete steps and throw roller bearings on the dirty floor. Importantly when reassembling never use a Torque Wrench. Then maybe you can do it all again when it goes wrong after a short life.

Great displays of knowledge and skill. And, mentoring and apprentices. Watch carefully. A leader always emerges in these videos. He is the one directing the others and doing the hands-on work personally. Great opportunities for trade skills to be passed on.

impressive how 3, 4, 5, 6 people work together in the same piece, and everything goes well, the workplace if it were here in Brazil or the USA would be called crazy, once again they prove that what is in charge is the skill and ability in what you do, and not the dirt of environmental laws..! congratulations guys..!
I'd be dead by 13, growing up in this unforgiving environment. Somebody send these guys gloves, safety glasses, and steel toed boots.
I build Caterpillar transmissions for a living at a Caterpillar remanufacturing plant. Off a quick glance I just wanted to let you guys know that you do not need to put oil/assembly grease in-between every clutch plate and friction disc. You’re wasting your time and your oil. Other than that you guys did pretty good, these are pretty straight forward; no shim packs/endplay, no transfer case or torque converter, etc., so they’re quick and easy. I did notice you skipped all of the outer covers, plugs, speed sensors, valve assemblys, and the wiring harness. Did you just do that off camera?
thank you😅
The floor of this workplace 1:49 is too dirty, the floor should be firm and dry.
Great work
Anyone heard of work boots? Or maybe floors?
Great video, just stumbled across it as I have a customer wanting me to do a trans rebuild for him as well, one thing that would be very helpful in these videos is a quick reference to the puller sizes and what kind of tools you used to make pulling the stacks apart easier, great video thanks

No feeler gauges, micrometers, cleanliness, or assembly lube. Lots of hammering on bearings. No torque wrenches. 1920’s shellac for gaskets. Wrong tightening sequences and torques. Grunge everywhere. No hoists, just many sore backs. Astonishing. I’m guessing they give a 30 second guarantee.
