Wow the Caterham is fantastic in the corners. This was a really interesting duel.

Almost every time people in expensive cars drive like 80 year olds, i can pass ferrari's on the track in,an tuned alfetta gt, its quick, and made for racing but an ferrari is too, alot of peeps just dont know how to drive or are to scared for racing their bought racecar

+Emiel Kort Mostly the last bit. I remember doing a charity event a few years ago in my racecar, I did 3 lap stints and in those 3 laps I would pass ALL the Ferrari's. I wasn't running full slicks either. My racecar is a partially shed built bmw e30.....

Theyre purposely going slow so these two guys can play for the video. For chrissake ! You dont really think this is a real race and that this guyactually beat the Potsche? Watch any other video like this one and you'll see the same thing happening. Its just for us to have fun pretending.

The track is great. That is why it regularly hosts Formula One, GP 2, GP 3, Formula 3, and pretty much every series under the sun.

With so much downforce it is terribly bad on cornering vs the excelect chassis of the lotus seven

@@leokapaslg . Downforce should HELP it . Understeer is the Porsche problem . Slow in , Fast out works great for them . Steer with the Right Foot . If you know how to .

En terme de puissance la 934 n'est pas mise "minable", dailleurs dès qu'il y a un bout de ligne droite elle s'échappe. Donc dans ce domaine on ne peut pas dire que la catheram a le dessus sur la porsche. La catheram est plus agile car bcp plus légère, elle peut bien performer sur un circuit lent, par sur un circuit style Le Mans, je suis moins sûr qu'elle s'en sort aussi bien.

Whilst I love 934's and that may be the case 2:58s shows a driver pushing too hard to get away after deciding to not let the faster driver (on that day) by. Thankfully he did eventually. Any videos of the 934?

That is an optional, but also correct, line through 1. I agree on the Caterham! Not a lot of them here in the US.

If it must be a Caterham R300, you will pay a premium but there are alternatives, Westfield Megabusas e. g. or used Caterham Fireblades.

Congratulations, if it had been the Caterham 620R, the story would be another, very well for the Caterham.

Stefano was most definitely the better driver but the Porsche had the advantage in sheer muscle.

Caterham name the model by bhp per ton so R300 engine is closer to 170hp since they weigh just over 500kg

C'est quand même dingue que de voir une auto qui à 280ch et bien est capable de mettre minable une autre auto qui elle possède au minimum 480 ch. Je suis conscient qu'une 934 qui est né en 1976 ne peut rivaliser (au niveau châssis et non au niveau du moteur) à une Caterham des années 2010. Voila une bonne vidéo qui montre l'évolution des autos sportives.. Merci pour le partage..

1.8 litre Rover K series. 180ish bhp. 360ish bhp/ton.

Did a great job against that Porsche! You were losing on the straights but cornering great. He had more traction he could have used in cornering as he never lost any traction, while you were using all of yours. Very nice work!

Great drive! No aero aids on the Caterham, but still better through corners than that massive 'whale tail'.

Surely a 280 hp Caterham is an R560.I take it it's a further tuned Cosworth Duratec?

Hoho, imagine how it would be like to drive this car with a 4 rotary Mazda engine under that hood, that would be pure adrenalin, complimented with the screaming, high pitch sound from the 4 rotor capable of easily making 1500 bhp!! That would be a little much though, but 1200 should be plenty if that car weighs about 600 kilograms, each bhp would then just need to pull 0,5 for every kilo :D I seriously want to make something perfected with that car, I've got work to do :)

480hp @ 1100kg. And that 480 was many, many years ago when it was new ;)

I don't think this caterham have 280 bhp. If has 280, isn't r300 ( numbers on caterham represents bhp/tonne ) ,or if it's R300 doesn't have 280,.....when top one it's 620R with 310-315 bhp and it's in Bugatti or Lambo performance on 0-120 mph

wow. i'm not big on cars or driving, but i can tell the Caterham driver is definitely better just by that fact that he was able to keep up. and "keep up" is an understatement. Caterhams are pretty sweet cars, and i just mean appearance wise. that's not even taking into account how they are to drive.
