Any thoughts on chicken livers for us people who live where fresh water cats only get about 8-12 pounds … ( Connecticut )

My 4yr old son caught a big toad and convinced me to keep him in a tank. We've been catching bettles, rolly pollies, wasps and also worms. But the worms were catching in our mulch are like nothing I've ever seen. They are very long and skinny, and they jump and bounce around like a nightcrawler on meth. I've been collecting them for bait, but I honestly think I found a new species of worm. They're like little snakes, on steroids, it's pretty awesome. Mr. Hopper loves them too.

I honestly loved reading that. Im assuming those worms are red wigglers. Real good for catch sunfish

The Flathead gods are shining down on you for sure. Those spawner male channels are cool looking for sure. Great video

I know when the cats aren't biting I always take out the trusty can of corn and check to see if there are some ole rust bucket carp. Catching a couple 20lb carp is a good way to pass time until the fish you want start hitting.

Wife and I were waiting to see the turtle start rolling down the bank,back into the water,like the time you and Josh had that one roll down the dam end over end. When Sabrina "wife" and I watched that,we both laughed so hard,we kept skipping back 10 seconds to watch it again and,it just didn't get old...

Little trick that always works with bait fish that dont want to bite. Freeline your worm no weight and no bobber. Use a big piece of worm slide up over your small hook onto the line for more casting distance. They will choke it everytime. You'll get alot more bites. The bait will sink so slow you dont have to worry about snagging on bottom or anything.

If not you have to come out my way and fish! There's MONSTER FLAT HEADS in the lake. Game warden said or 5,000 flat heads where put in there to keep down the white perch they threw in. Lol! It happens 🤷‍♂️

Well Spencer trying the new game of bluebell slip and slide ! Chuck the heads in and ground bait an area and drop a bait in for the turtle's or turd slurpers. I was surprised Josh slipped off early he fishes through all sorts of Chit! But proffs for sticking it out and getting a breakfast double!

Heck yeah Spencer, I’d probably fish in any weather too for a Flathead or two! lol! Come to think, I have fished in some pretty gnarly weather for flatheads, it was fishing at a few different paylakes whenever a daggone storm blew up! But to me it seems like they go to biting just before a storm and when the storm is on top of you! Anyways, good deal buddy!

I've noticed the fishing gets really good right on the edge of a storm system.. I notice I'll catch more fish during those conditions than any other day

Looks like the spot Josh went swimming for his Bluecat

Went out catfishing a few day's ago and ended up breaking one of my best rod's. Damn 62in gar jumped at shore, the line wrapped around the tip and it made a run and snapped it right off. Still was able to land it but that's what big fish do sometimes. I need to move around more, the flatheads just haven't been in their usual spots for me this year.

@@RiverCertified the floods moved alot of the wood out of the hole's I fish. And I have only caught 1 gar in my life until this year, for some reason I can't seem to keep em off my cutbait and livebait which mostly consists of bluegill redhorse suckers and the occasional drum. I haven't found any small bullheads either, all the one's I've caught have been in the 12 to 16in range and I've been eating those.

River Certified - What length of rod do you typically use for your flathead setup? I just bought the Whisker Seeker 9 and a half foot rod (per your recommendation, thank you) and it seems a bit excessive haha.

I use both. Got 2 7'6" and a 9'6" out right now. I feel like I have more line control in current from the bank with the longer one cuz I can keep my line elevated up higher.
