    Doctors can't explain all possible issues. When you buy a car, the dealer can't explain all possible future issues you might have. If you need a car, you need a car. If you need better vision, surgery is often the only way.

    My cataract surgery was 2 months ago. Vision was adversely affected immediately. Had laser removal of sme scaring and extra reounds of steroid and NSAID drops. OCT scan show macular edema . Next, perfusion studies. But I am extremely anxious about any more proceedures. I just want my vision back. This is really taking it's toll on me.

    I’m in the same boat. Botched cataract surgery has left me with floaters and blurry vision in right eye. I also had uveitis a month ago, prednisone drops helped at that time but still not completely clear. I also was diagnosed with cystoid macular edema (CME) .. & now hear muffled sounds from the right ear, my ear is clogged as if i it has water in it. Maybe I can only hear 20% from the affected ear. Was referred to a retina specialist by on OD. This is very frustrating. Poor vision and now compromised hearing!!!

    Been 11 weeks since my cataract surgery. My central vision has become hazy with a little glare. Saw my eye doctor today. I was diagnosed with baseline macular edema. I'm also pre-diabetic. He's put me on Bromfenac 2 times a day and Prednisolone 4 times a day for 5 weeks until I see him again in about 5 weeks. Here's praying it will heal. Thank you for this video. I think your helping out many people here. You've reassured me some. Praying everyone here in comments the best.

    7 weeks post-op. I have developed macula edema, and I am being treated for it. I feel as if that eye is half-blind. I struggle reading. I'm a teacher, which is why I did the cataract surgery over the summer, so as not to interfere with the school year and to have better vision in the upcoming year, which starts in a few days. Looks like I'm in for a challenging year. Unless this thing corrects itself, my job could be in danger. However, your video gave me a lot of hope. I need patience. Thanks, doc!

Should I be concerned about the immediacy of the symptoms?

    Two years ago I had cataract surgery on my left eye. After two days I developed cysts and my sight has been hazy and distorted ever since. Especially central vision. I have been going to an eye specialist since they first developed. I am scared to get my right eye worked on as I have cataracts in it as well. My vision in it is 20/40 without glasses. I am diabetic and 51 years old. My a1c is right at 6.8 that is down from 9.0 a year ago. Take care of your blood sugar. Your eyes will thank you.

    After cataract surgery (both eyes) I noticed bowing when looking at a straight line. It bowed "up" in my right eye and "down" in my left. Needless to say, sharp focus was affected. My surgeon dismissed my concerns, saying it usually goes away in a short time. That was 2017. So far no change except for a whiteish floater in my left eye that swims opposite to my eye movements. I've been advised to see my ophthalmologist for assessment as I have also developed diabetes.

    I had cataract surgery 6 weeks ago. I am on eye drops 4 times a day. I can not see much because of blurry vision. The other eye surgery is on hold. My eye still hurts and feels like I am wearing a contact lens. Had YAG but not better yet. Am told it WILL get better but I am struggling to care for myself with one eye.. Driving is scary. How many months will it take until I can see again I don't know. I felt incisions and poking during surgery but nothing else. Dreading next eye surgery and hope it will be worth the complications rather than diminishing my eyesight permanently.

    You said heat waves as a result of cataract surgery results in the swelling of the macula. I’ve got cystoid macular edema in my left eye more than 4 months after the surgery, but I’ve got it immediately after I put moist heat pack on my eyes to treat meibomian gland dysfunction. Is it possible that I got CME as a result of the heat from the moist heat pack?

    Is this related to poor vision in the morning after sleeping? In my case on waking I cannot, for example, read the led clock on me dresser. It was clear post-op for a several weeks, but with the edema this problem came on, too. In an hour or two I can see somewhat better. Taking Prednisolone drops now, 1 week in, and maybe slightly improved, but the morning thing remains. Male, 55, type 2 with fasting typically 100-120, obese, treated hypertension (so normal pressure with meds and exercise). Not seeking medical advice here...I have a doctor already for that, but wondering about the odds of occurrence with these comorbidities in similar patients.

    Good info.thank you, Dr. I had a brain MRI 4 weeks after cataract and 3 weeks after emergency vitrectomy surgery (same eye) to prove to the Dr. I had no strokes. I woke up the next day with severe diplopia and went to the emergency room. Could the strong magnetic field of the MRI cause this? Or could it simply be dry eye from all the medicines (Gambigan. Prednisolone, Cataractive plus too much hydration drops)? I was reassured the MRI would not affect my eye vision. Is there any hope for my vision to correct itself?

I am experiencing cloudy vision, a significant diminished visual acuity, and a ripple or wavy effect in my vision as if I was on some hallucinogenic drug., a color shift in my vision, and black “floaters”” in my vision. @@rellysullivan8964 I have been informed that the results I indicated were not the result of my cataract surgery, but rather were complications from the previous macular hole surgery. These complications were made aware to me as a result of the cataract surgery and therefore were why I attributed them to the cataract surgery. These complications were eventually lessened or completely eliminated over time. The color shift In my vision was the result of still having a cataract in right eye that was eliminated when I then had cataract surgery on my right eye. The ripple or wavy effect

  • @thomascarmody9705

    @thomascarmody9705

    Жыл бұрын

    Sorry, to continue: The ripple or wavy effect eventually diminished to the point of being a minimal distraction. This may be due to my brain eventually compensating for the distortion rather than an actual physical recovery. My uncorrected vision after all surgeries is 20/40 in my left eye and 20/30 in my right eye (distance vision). I was informed by my second surgeon who performed the cataract surgery on my right eye that the macular hole surgery was a very successful outcome and it was not uncommon for results leaving a 20/200 vision post surgery. Obviously I can’t make any kind of recommendation for you, but I will say I am happy that I had it done and that I had it done in a timely manner. Wishing you the best.
