I know ❤ I had a Maine Coon when I was very young, and sadly I always "carried" (she was the same size as me) by the neck 😮. I can't believe she always just tolerated it with her little tongue sticking out. Why my parents didn't stop me I'm not sure 😅. But I did love her very much. My first memories are of her. She was my first and best friend, and I have loved (and actually respected) animals ever since.

Pavo, named after Pavarotti the tenor, because he sang when he purred! Pavo tolerated being held and carried around by her young daughters! Such sweet natured cats!🥰🐈🐈‍⬛

Why is it that tabbies are always the most affectionate cats? I used to have one (my ex wife has him now) and we adopted him because my now ex said it was meant to be because he was the only animal that wasn’t afraid of my chair and wanted to keep playing with me (yet she kept him when we divorced)

I feel sad for the day the cats are no longer with him 😔. Though I guess they can always adopt new ones but it just won’t be the same

This takes me back to when my kids were born. Infants are the IDEAL friends for cats. Their toys provide hours of entertainment, especially the dangling ones. They take frequent naps. And they always drop food!

My favorite part is she made it a point to make sure *everyone* was safe, not just the baby. Sometimes owners will forget the babies shouldn’t pull ears, climb on backs, etc. it can cause permanent injuries. 😢

Sometimes I think the proliferation of allergies is partly a result of moms in nesting mode over-sterilizing everything. If the immune system is not challenged regularly it goes haywire. No one wants their baby to be sick but if you keep their environment TOO clean, their bodies never learn how to fight off infections properly.

This is a win win. The baby learns to be an amazing human being by being surrounded by cats. The cats are getting use to little kids so they get more chances to be adopted by families with kids.

Wlbur reminds me of my first cat Frisky. She was a Orange tabby as well. I wasn't as young as your son when we got her but I was under 10. Very early on, she decided that I was her boy. When I went to bed, she'd be there within a couple of minutes scratching at the door. I'd open the door and she'd rush in and jump on my bed and would spend the night with me in my arms. God, I miss her.

This made my heart smile. Thank you for sharing. To have soo many cats and a newborn is beyond me, but what a wonderful family you have. Your boy will grow to be a kind and gentle man, just like the cats that you have and have saved. God Bless you for you kindness. Your son will make you proud and keep doing what you do. I have always had a pet cat as long as I remember, and my mom said when I was around 6 months old and was sleeping our home cat would always jump into my crib and sleep with me and she told me she never told me how to treat animals because as a kid sometimes they are not aware how to handle animals or show love and affection to them but mom says I was very gentle and kind towards all the animals and cats offcourse because It was cats who choose to be with me before I chose them ❤

Love this! I've fostered for 15 years and always had cats! My daughter's were older when we started getting them but they always slept in my kid's beds! They loved it! My son is a "cat daddy" now to 16 cats! We have 22, all rescued from the streets!
