each cat is beautiful in its own way

We just adopted a cat with a missing eye. Any recommendations on how to care for her? There appears to be some seepage from the socket. This is new territory for me.

So I've had a pirate kitty for about 4 years, and as long as there's not other cats in the area you can basically treat your cat like a normal cat. If there are other cats around, your cat should be indoors most of the time as to prevent transferable infections. Also, your cat probably can't see from that side, so maybe don't surprise them if your cat is skittish.

My cat is getting his removed right now. he was scratched by a kitten i recently took in.

Mine had his removed today and for the same reason 😢 I feel so guilty and it hurts a lot tbf 😖

But my only question is that do they need special attention ? Do I need ti take more care of the other eye that is healthy?

After my cats surgery they gave me eye drops to put in the other eye while he is recovering

My cat got his eye injured in a cat fight and had to have a enucleation. The first week before getting the enucleation he would do walk circles to find his food and to get around places. Then he finally started walking straight again before the operation. Now after the surgery he is walking circles again to get around to places. Why is he doing it?

My cat also got his eye infected by a cat fight and he’s getting it removed. A bit scary and im worried for him. How did ur cat manage after the surgery and when do they take the stitches out? Do they also shave around the eye?

@@khvlil6803 they shave around the eye yes and I’m not sure how they cope after the surgery yet as mine only had his removed today and i feel so bad

I’ve noticed my one eyed kitten sneezes a lot and sometimes gags from the snot. We have a vet apt this week. Does anyone else have this issue?

Aristocat 12 Hi, i just sent my cat to remove her eye today, the total cost is around $900-1000, we also asked another vet and they asked for $1200-1500. We don’t have insurance for our cat so it is super expensive but we want to give her the best treatment we are also affordable. I know it might be the final choice for your cat to do the eye enucleation and it may get you very emotional, we all hope our little kids can get better sooner🐱

This is an update the kittens were taken care of and they both have their eyes and the vet gave them medicine to help with their eyes

A had a cat that looked exactly like the grey and white one Rip cyclops ???? - July 2022

my old boy has glaucoma....i can tell he's in pain and blood test showed nothing wrong...we dont know why he has it, the vet doesnt know. i read removal of the eye is probably the necessary step since it cant be cured...but we dont know how much a procedure like that would cost or if we can afford it. hes 16 years old...im afraid for him :(

is he in pain with eye not removed? On one drop for life? He eats and plays like before? Thank you

My cat may need her eye removed shes just been diagnosed with gluacoma

I have a cat that needs help his eye is all scanned over and he keeps sneezing. I need people like this woman to help me and him. I am willing to surrender him too. I would prefer to surrender him to a place and people like this. So I know he can live for as long as he can.

My Sandy had a growth on her third eyelid, and her eye was extracted. She blames me, like I punished her, but she has mostly forgiven me. i dread vet visit to remove stiches in 11 days.

Don't kiss your cat if they have runny eyes, it took me 2 months in beginning of 2020 to get over it...

My black cat “Hades” was attacked by a yellow lab who had her babies. Poor Kitty was just trying to lay with her pups and got bit. Now he’s missing a eye, i cant even afford going to a vet so I’ve been taking special care of him and now he’s doing much better!

But does the herpes pass on to humans?

i wish there was more information online to show how to naturally heal and reverse a cat's health issues through food as medicine. These surgeries are not the way!!! poor cat no longer has an eye.

Healthy food is very important, but no diet is going to address these types of issues. This surgery just saved my cat's life, and I am extremely grateful.

@@heathers1254my cat is too frail to have the surgery. I’m upset the ophthalmologist didn’t offer any other options other than laying her to rest or keeping her comfortable, but denying her antibiotics for conjunctivitis, to die. She plays. She’s sassy. She’s tired some days. She’s eats and functions well for being 17 1/2 and was going up to everyone at the clinic, making friends, purring. She’s not dying. Did you find a solution?

Some health issues are from genetics! My 8 year old cat has just been diagnosed with glaucoma and i was so shocked bc i thought older cats only get that and she only eats meat and drinks enough water, etc. But this glaucoma it's to do with her genetics and usually only starts to show when they are around 3-7 years old. It's truly a shock but goes to show not everything is in our control 🥲
