Little do we know, that misupload of the Stadia video was actually a meta joke about the Stadia not being what was promised

"Five Hundred And Ninety Nine U.S. Dollars." I'll never forget how those words echoed on the stage while everyone stared in complete silence and disbelief.

(I'm posting this comment again because this is where it actually belongs.) Pat seems to have mistaken Google for a tech company when they are, in fact, a data collection company. They make alot of tech but it's simply a means to an end; Collect as much bulk data as possible to fuel algorithms to more efficiently determine what consumers buy, and sell that data so ads can be more accurate. So it's super fun seeing Google not only flounder with Stadia, but also be so incompetent in managing KZread as to attract the attention of the FTC like fucking idiots. Shows how good they are at actual technology development.

When they were both handling the third party controllers, they did some amazing camera tricks and effects work with the miniature models to make it actually look like Pat is human sized. That's dedication right there.

Out of all the Stadia news, the part about needing everyone to turn off their WiFi is the most devastating part. They're right in that we would be actually moving progress backwards just to accommodate this tech no one needs it wants.

I'm looking back at almost every single launch controller for almost every single console colour being black white or grey. GameCube's purple controller is the only default controller I can think of that had a colour instead of a shade of white or black.

Gamers Nexus took the controller apart. He had to use a heat gun, liquid nitrogen and a dimel saw. The cover for the one big screw is glued down and it has 6 rigid clips inside. Google have basically made a one use controller.

Best part of it, at least according to Giant Bomb's video on Stadia (which admittedly was done shortly before release), showed that, for at least Mortal Kombat 11, if you want to buy DLC you would open it up the game, press the "go to store" button and then open the app on your phone and enter a code they show on screen to start up your DLC purchase

I love how Google thought they could make something like a Chromecast but with a much lower tolerance for latency when they haven't been able to get the Chromecast to work even 80% reliably and it's been out for years.

Woolz: I actually had that SAME FUCKING DREAMCAST CONTROLLER. And yeah, I was the little brother. One of those horrible triggers broke the day we got that controller and that was unfortunately the piece of shit I had to use to play Soul Calibur. Until you've actually held that controller yourself, you cannot understand just how useless those triggers were. Oh and the face button layout was needlessly changed too and made it even more confusing to use. Using that controller was playing blindfolded with rubber bands tied around your fingers.

I owned a pink PS2 controller with a shiny silver cable. I had it because it was 50% cheaper than the black controller from the same manufacturer at a local game store back in the day, and I desperately needed a controller as the previous one broke.

21:40 oh my god that looks exactly like the controller I had for my gamecube when I was a kid. After time the rubber on the joystick wore off and somehow dragged the plastic off a bit when it went and every time I would play it my thumb would get scratched to all fuck. It made my thumb look like it was shedding its fucking skin

I know this video is 2yrs old and I probably won’t get much in response to my question but I can’t be the only one who would, out loud, say stay-dia every time pat said stah-dia in some misguided attempt to correct him across time and space

y'know comin back to this clip, specifically watchin the bit where they're talkin bout stadia's pad feeling like a third party pad. I think those pads were so awful on N64 because it had 4 Ports. So every company realized families were scrambling to get a bunch of controllers, and realizing they can't afford 3 more 50 Dollar Official Ones. So thats where Madkatz came in, and we got the *slop*.
