Omg I know what you mean. I was (and still is) so sad when the movie ended. It's the part where they parted ways. Somehow to me at the time when I watched it, it was like they will never see each other again. Sadness. 😭 I love this movie. This is my favorite.

The animation during this sequence, especially when you watch it on Blu-Ray, is simply breath-taking. Castle in the Sky is not only my favourite Miyazaki film, it's my favourite animated film of all time.

eclipsesonic I just remembered about this and spirited away. I remember watching them close to release. I couldn't have been older than seven or eight.

I love the theory that Laputa, freed from the stones that weighed it down, becomes similar to a star in the sky, one with a thriving garden full of plant life, a thriving ecosystem of animals, and a peaceful robot that takes care of both. Love Ghibli so much.

I saw this movie when I was 7 on tv, never knew the name, turned to the channel part way through the movie. Blew. My Mind. For years (pre-internet days) wondered what that amazing movie with the long armed robots and the life-tree was. Skip to my first year of Uni and was walking through the local media store (HMV) in the city center, saw it in the DVD section and boom, immediately knew this was the one I had been looking for all these years. Fastest purchase I ever made. Still my favourite out of all of Studio Gibli.

Same here, but I did not like the re-released version with the extra music and different dubed voices, I ended up buying five different releases but did finally find the original dubed version I had seen years before and it's also my favourite movie.

To me it gives off an old vcr vibe the audio quality on those wasn't akways that good but i loved them growing up.

This movie haunts me (in a good way). The opening depiction of the fall of a civilization; the children exploring the ruins of their ancestors; this ending farewell to the pirates. The 3 scenes anchor the story beautifully.

Same here. After that it was Spirited Away and then Princess Mononoke. I will never forget the movie marathon on Toonami when I saw most of Sensei Miyazaki's films.

This song was airways so important to me as a child, and a year or so ago i recieved a studio ghibli flute book, when i finally learnt to play this i broke down into tears at the end. One of the most important songs in my life.

this is a song I could listen to on loop for hours, it is my childhood

I dunno,,, I watch this whenever I'm sad and it's just so moving. Especially this video, the sound quality adds smth to it

They've saved half of the Laputa, Muska's dead, not even his army and two spies. The peril's over, Sheets and Pazu won, along with the Air Pirates, farewell.

This is a bad quality video but the song is still so beautiful

Miyazaki films kick ass and my fave is the wolf princess but castle in the sky was super awsome I watch a Miyazaki film once every 2 weeks for fun even if its the same movie

This was the very first Ghibli movie I ever watched at the age of 18 and it absolutely blew me away. I remember sitting there listening to this and I just felt so many emotions. Absolute masterpiece

Me too! First it started wi5g just the Mitazaki movies. Then, as I was looking for the music for howl's moving castle, I stumbled upon the funny scenes of various animes which caused me to look into them and watch them. Thank you, Miyazki-san!!!

I love drawing anime and playing the violin, so these movies were always such a big insperation to me. I cried so much in this movie, and now whenever I see a really big cloud, I shout IT'S LAPUTA!!!:D
