Hey Sir First of all i started watching your videos and have learned a lot and got lot of counter answers to be an agnostic athiest. Can you please touch a topic about people saying that it's ok you are an theist can you explain from where did you learn all of the moral values hope you understand what I am trying to say and explain me this so that i can counter my theist friends and relatives.. QM was arguing for Leibnizian contingency argument... He was right about saying that infinite chains can demand an explanation outside of them ... For example a chain a1 a2 a3....a OO is one chain But we can conceive of another chain b1 b2 b3 ..... b OO Conceivablity implies possibility which means that anything that we can conceive of is rationally possible and what is possible is not necessary... Now there are 2 / 3 ways to deal witn such arguments First is to reject the PSR Which is that everything that exists has an explanation for why is it the way it is... We can adopt a weaker principle which is like that Every non initial thing has an explanation for why it is the way it is ... The second way is tk accept that there's a naturalistic necessary being which is the initial singularity / state of the universe... This way the argument will now be about Stage 2 which is proving that necessary thing = God ( proving attributes ) Third way could be Hume edwards principle which says that once we explain all members of a chain then we would have also explained why chain as a whole exists... Reductio Malayalam have been doing great work in this area of philosophical atheism

Hi Vimoh I am very much influenced and agree with your thoughts. I have been a follower of many spiritual organisations in the past but none gave answer to my queries about so many things so I came to a conclusion that it is just man made and no god like entity exists or if it is then one can never know or prove it. But there is doubt that I have. It is about consciousness that yes we agree through our experience that there is something called consciousness thet exists and it can't be defined or proved as a physical thing like there is no way you can pin point that there is mind at a particular place in brain your thoughts cannot be seen on a monitor at most we can experience is the electrical activity in brain and try to understand the pattern. So what I am pointing is that consciousness/mind is bound to physical brain it is true for all the living beings includings plants yes the medium is different. So is'nt it not that there is possibility of something which cannot be explained by any physical tools/laws that we have but it exists. As we know cells in the body talks/send signals to each other and affect through different means to make the body work/live. But individually they can't have any knowledge/meaning of their existence and they don't know anything other than working.

QM… your argument is based on contingent beings (just about everything we can perceive, individually or collectively contingent across time and space). So for something to come into existence from non existence, it either needs to be dependent on another contingent being that inturn depends on another contingent being and so on, or ultimately a necessary being (exist without dependency theory) would have made something contingent to come into existence. Boom. Kahan se aaya types big question. Lets assume it was a primeval atom from big bang theory, a theory but substantiated with some evidence. We can argue that atom to be contingent being or necessary being. If contingent, again it would have come from something that came from something as so on till its originated from a necessary being. So, to simplify let’s say that dense primeval atom is necessary being. Problem with that : 1. Its impossible to prove that the atom (or anything beyond that) is necessary being (just existed without dependence)… its just an unsubstantiated unprovable belief. If we find means to prove it, then we know. But we don’t know now and people who wrote books of faith didn’t either had a way of knowing/ proving. They just believed. 2. Further impossible to say that that atom (or whatever ultimate necessary being) is conscious, all powerful, all knowing, intelligent, benevolent being. That is your definition of god. Contingent beings etc argument can’t explain that (characteristics) at all even as imagined unsubstantiated concept of necessary being itself. An atom could just be an atom, no smarter or conscious. You are smart. Just play devils advocate and argue from the other side with conviction and honesty… you’ll get to the folly of what religions preach.

QM - does infinity has an end or beginning ? So isnt theory of endlessly dependant contingent beings way less far fetched, than imagining a necessary being ? The universe could have expanded from primeval dense atom and in another effect like of a giant growing dark hole condense back into one... something that can be measured.

Hey @vimoh i think what dynamo coder was trying to say at 14:00 is that the shows are structured in a particular way so that they can call the theist people, let them make their argument and then shower them with counter arguments..... I mean its like they are made to ..how can i say...bully the theist people for entertainment i guess... I am not supporting the thiest here but i am trying to say is at some point these shows which should have been a place for rational and intellectual debate kind of thing... They at a pont become a centre for pleasing a persons personal bias and entertain the public.... Like isne toh iski band hi baja di Isne iski boti bnd kr di type of thing Whereas the original purpose should be sharing, discussing and debating about ideas.... This is my interpretation of what dynamo coder is saying.

1.) A perfect independent God has to be Omnipotent and Omniscient but both these terms are logically inconsistent and contradictory. So, any being can't be perfect which implies there is no such being completely independent. 2.) If there is a totality or set of some elements which satisfy a particular property does not necessarily imply that that set will also have that property. we don't even know whether that property is even defined for it or not. Saying that a set of real numbers must also be a real number is meaningless. Set is just a collection of well defined objects. Also property of elements need not to be property of bulk. 3.) Whether cosmological argument or contingency argument they both are based on some theories or laws which they assume to be always true even at the point of singularity when big bang was happening which is not true. The space time curvature at the point of singularity is infinity and we don't know anything about the nature of infinity. All the laws whether it's law of casuality or any philosophical rule, it can't be used to predict anything before singularity or in the singularity. Whatever conclusions you are making about the universe from no matter what premise it need not to be true.

@@AtheismLeadsToIrrationality There is a very famous paradox for omnipotency that if God can do everything than he can create a rock so heavy that nobody can lift it and if God lifts it then he can't create a rock which is unliftable. In either case property of omnipotency doesn't hold. If God is omniscient it implies he knows everything whether it's past or present or future but it means that god can't change his mind (which again proves he is not omnipotent) because if he does change his mind it means he failed to predict his own choices which means he can't be omniscient ie all Knowing.

@@AtheismLeadsToIrrationality I m not only talking about scientific limitations. You are using god to explain the existence of universe. Which implies you are assuming whole universe as a contingent thing. Now there are two problems with this assumption according to me- 1.) Contingent of universe depends upon the contingent of it's elements. How can you say that all the things in this universe ( both observed and non observed) are contingent? 2.) If you are saying that universe is contingent then you are saying big bang and singularity is contingent. Which is a direct claim about it's nature but we don't know anything about the nature of singularity so, we can't be sure whether any argument we are using is even applicable there or not forget even about deciding whether it's contingent or not.

QM's argument if I understand is: p1) Everything that begins or contingent has cause. p2) The cause is something other than the contingent being itself. p3) Contingent beings alone can not be the cause of the existance of a contingent being or to put it another way the cause of a contingent being must include something which is necessary i.e not contingent. p4) A necessary being exists which is God. Now this argument has been debunked by many philosophers. I would put forward Russel's objection The p1 assumption is not true. Yes It is true that most of the beings that we have observed till now must have a cause i.e contingent but it may not be true for Universe as a whole. Because parts having a certain property does not imply whole has the same property. If all the bricks in a wall are small , it does not imply the wall is small. Parts of the universe being contingent does not imply whole of the universe is contingent. The Universe just is. Fullstop.

If physical things are something that is dependent on space-time then space time itself is non physical but exists inside the universe. And also space time or some aspect of it can be necessary and not contingent Space- time or some aspect of it like super string can be self explanatory and without cause.

How can you say space time or some aspects of it ( it may not be space time itself but some aspect of it) , or completely some different agent ( dark energy or dark matter we dont know yet , lets call it S ) can not be limitless , independent and self explanatory. The whole point is if God is necessary , why cant S be necessary. You have to give a consistent logical answer?

About what QM was saying, the existence of the Sun isn't necessary cuz we have evidence that the universe is older than the Sun, and hence, the universe existed before the Sun came to be. But the flaw with his argument was that he's using macroscopic things to present his arguments. They are contingent, no doubt. Proof: time right after the big bang. But the second premise breaks down here, there is no need for an external existence condition to explain them. These are capable of making themselves and if you want to talk about fundamental particles or energy, they are not contingent. Their existence is essential cuz we have evidence that mass-energy is conversed

Soren's entire argument was structured around his claim that having a PERSONAL religion is harmless. But that's not the vast majority of theists are like. All around the world they are trying to make policies based on their religion, so obviously atheists fight against it. He is taking their stance personally, and he thinks that the anger is justified but in reality it isn't.

Whatever you mention happens when people try to build a religion across the teachings of some people.... If you observe carefully, be it Christ, Krishna or Moses or Buddha... None of them in their teachings talked about forming any religion. Here muhammad is an exception because in Quran it is clearly mentioned that Allah (read Mohammad) has given you the perfect religion which was started by Abraham. So if we go by that sense, only Islam could be called as a religion to its fullest, all others are made up by their followers afterwards. So, a monolithic religion based upon outdated beliefs is going to rot like an age-old fruit after sometime as society would change. And i guess such a monolithic religion is something which makes people fight against each other.

I don't understand why Vimoh calls himself agnostic atheist. Agnostic is a useless title imo. Everyone is agnostic about everything. Nobody can absolutely prove or disprove existence of anything. Aren't religious people agnostic also. When someone talks about their take on god how can you be just agnostic ? You will say I don't know wether god exists or not that's why. But no-one knows, neither atheists nor theists. So what's the point in saying agnostic. When you're asked about your position you're expected to tell wether you live your life as though god exists or god doesn't exist. You can't be in the middle. In which case everyone is either a theist or an atheist. I don't get this agnostic thing.

Main problem kya hai pata hai tumalogo ko,tum log uss person se debate hi nahi kar rahe ho jo actual mein tumhe answers kar sake,tum log bas aise hi kisi kam knowledge wale ko pakad ke usase debate karate ho,aur usako low feel karaate ho, it's wrong,pehale right person se debate karo,itane bade sawaal lekar baithe ho toh uss level ke scholar se debate bhi toh karo

Atheist is nothing it just an trending word who don’t know about religion books and not want to believe it caused they’re never interested on it as they have only concerns for proving value of there own is just science which they only say what i see i believe ( Absolutely ok no hateful ), but where theist person is just opposite who belive on ancestries beliefs system or history culture etc, and belive in god is nothing to do with materials thing. Atheists are just opposite to theists. We deny god's existence because we don't have proof and scriptures aren't the proof of god. It's not a trending word it's a whole set of thoughts not beliefs.
