    I believe that big deep skillet it really a "Chicken Fryer", I love my cast iron and happy you do too! Finding lids are a real problem. Sometimes I clean them up with white vinagar & a brush, then a wash & season once again. Have fun!

    I agree these pans are the best! I use soap lightly if I’ve cooked something that was heavily seasoned, so as to not have the taste residue left behind. Then I reseason with avocado oil just once. I only wish I had a wall where I could hang mine, as you have. Happy Christmas Mrs. Val and Mr. Sweet Hunter.🙏

    How you clean cast iron in between seasoning, but after using?

  • @ourforeverfarm

    I actually share what I do on the video. But everytime you cook you are seasoning. I wash, dry, dry on heat, then I usually oil mine again. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.

    Val, I have my mom’s iron skillet sitting in my cabinet right now, oh how I remember her fried chicken and fried taters the best! Got a couple questions…how often do you have to season it and I have a flat top range since it’s so heavy kinda scared to use it. Can’t bring myself to part with it, and now you’ve made me want to try and cook something in it.Merry Christmas sending love and prayers your way!🫶🙏🎄🎅🏻🤶

    Everytime you cook in it, it seasons it. So if you don’t cook in it often, you would need to season it often. I’m with you on the glass top stove. I’d be a little scared too although I see many KZread’s that do it. But. You can cook on the oven with it!!! Try spatchcocking a chicken in the oven. That would be fun! Thanks for watching.

    I have a question. I have a lot of cast iron skillets but have t used them much because I don’t know how to clean them after I’ve cooked in them. My grandmother used to jump on us for washing her cast iron after she cooked in it. How do I clean my cast iron after cooking something in it?

  • @ourforeverfarm

    @ourforeverfarm

    Exactly like I did in this video just not as extensive if it’s been cooked in because they are seasoned. I wash, rinse, dry, put in warm oven or on an eye to warm it to get it completely dry. Then put a little oil in it. Eventually it will be done easy because as you cook, your pans will be seasoned from the good. Make sure to turn the eyes or oven off when you are finished. Thx for watching. Hope this helps.

    How often do I need to season?

  • @ourforeverfarm

    @ourforeverfarm

    If you cook often and keep it oiled you will be good. Cooking seasons it. I usually add a little oil after I wash it.

    Was that a cold oven? Or is there a certain temperature for the oven?

  • @ourforeverfarm

    @ourforeverfarm

    I turn in on 350 when seasoning rough pans and leave them in there about 20 min. That’s when the pores in the skillets open when they are warm & absorb all that seasoning up. When they are cold they don’t absorb or release. Thats the only time I use soap. Now if I’m drying a seasoned pan and I have a warm oven turned off, I will see on there to dry. Hope that helps.

    Why don't you clean those bad ones with steel wool? Then go through your normal cleaning and seasoning?

  • @ourforeverfarm

    I explained on there that u prefer not to use Brillo pads or steel wool because of scratching. I was taught that by my Grandma. If it works let me know! Thank you for watching.
