Have Your original AK47 / MP5 / AR15 / M16 / M1911a1 / receiver (base frame) - scan them with #d scanner. Then use a 3D Printer and print each piece at 103% in plastic. Make runners and gates out of Styrofoam: bond them to your printed part using glue. Then use a 1:1 ratio mix of plaster of paris with extra fine building sand. Mix water. Once submerged with the foam runners protruding. Dry. Then burn the plastic out. Next pour aluminum. No machining Just Light sanding and polishing

@edwyrd Thank you for the awesome complements man. I really appreciate it. Yeah my dads shop is in his basement. The stairs are spiral. It was a good way for us to save space in the shop. They were reclaimed and only had to make some minor fabrications to make them work.

Hi! Have you thought about casting a table for your bandsaw? That would be easier to work on than balancing it on the tiny blade support.

Thanks. Yeah I know what the throttle body spacer is. My brother keeps wanting me to make one for his 351 Windsor. After you cast the plate you can drill and tap it for NoS nosle!

Got into building akm's about 5 years ago and done a fair amount of talking smack on cast parts. Getting into 3d printing fdm and thought lost pla casting with 7075 aluminum might be the only possible solution to making a front trunnion for a vityaz build. Thoughts? Enjoyed your video and subscribed

Yeah thats definitely awesome, especially the fact that your father is willing to help. I have to admit I'm a little jealous of your furnace/foundry, I'm trying to build my own propane fueled furnace but am having one hell of a time with the refractory. I'm using "EPK clay" mixed with styrofoam bead.s And an old bbq grill propane tank as the shell. I guess im not getting the ratios correct because once it starts to dry it shrinks and cracks beyond belief. Anyway thanks for the video!

I do have a small table that came with the saw but its such a pain to take on and off all the time. I frequently go between cutting vertical and horizontal so i just suffer with the small cutting surface in the vertical position.

What Alloy are you using? Properties Of aluminum, and tendency for corrosion can vary greatly...

@spinesales It's frustrating getting that far into a project only to get stymied. Sadly, that's how most of my projects seem to end up! Keep up the good work.

@steelcappedstrength Thanks buddy. Im sorry your having problems with your refractory. There is a company called BudgetCasting Supply. They have good prices and free shipping. A friend of mine has a a BBQ tank as his furnace body and he get awesome results. If I can ever help in anyway to get your casting going let me know. Thank you again for the great comments!

  • @AngeredKabar

That was supposed to be a rear trunnion? Nice attempt. Never really thought about sand casting my own parts before but it doesn't seem too expensive or difficult to tool up for.

You really should not use gloves while you use the band saw. If the blades are dull they pull your fingers and arm in...
