Casio need to make watches with these interesting kind of sensors again!!!!!

with the solar system on the faceok. haha. thermal solar gprb1000 rangeman. hahaha with a heart beat sensor lol... i wonder if casio themselves has every model ever made.

Casio used advanced environmental micro sensors in series production before anybody else for the retail market. With such powers and global distribution it comes rather easy to wonder what refrained them from making a comprehensive device, basically a smart-tablet, probably something resembling a modern smartphone, with LCD touch screen, environmental sensors, receivers, transmitters, serial ports and most of the features of their watches, calculators and personal organizers combined.

In thermo scanner mode, hold down the A button (top left) until the emissivity value starts to flash. Then press C button (bottom left) to enter the unit setting mode. Then press D button (thermo scan button) to toggle between C and F. Press A to exit.

Nice looking watch!!!

Looks in good shape. Similar to my 28 year old Casio Thermo Scanner Watch DPX-300.

Found you by chance good video this watch would be great for fishing because of the moon faze and the tide faze very nice and helpful watch.

Checkout the WS210 and the WS1300h. Theyre built for watersports/maritime use and they're a lot slimmer and cheaper since there's no temp sensor. The WS-1250 doesn't have the moon/tide display but does calculations for them in the background and tells you when the best times to go fishing are. Casio definitely makes something for everything.

Looks like a nice watch. Have you ever measured the temperatures it reads with a regular thermometer to see how accurate it is?

I still have a SR-100 scan watch....time to put a new battery in it before it goes bad.

Hi, I see at min 4:54 you press the thermo scanner without pointing any surface, and the temp output is 20.4 °C. Does this mean the sensor is able to measure the ambient temp also? And if so, is it accurate? Thanks

+lopiipol In a word no. If you don't point it at anything in particular it measures the average temperature of objects in the distance. So in a room when I pointed it in most directions it read 16.2 deg. If I pointed it upwards it read 18.3 - obviously the ceiling is warmer than the walls because heat rises. When I took it out at night an pointed it at the sky it registered an error.

+ChromeFreeDisco Thank you very much for your answer; I'm searching for a watch that can be reliable when measures on wrist without being affected by its temperature. It seems no one today is able to do it: I saw some old models from '80s with the sensor in the upper part of the watch (like the Casio TS-100) that can be more accurate than the modern ones in which the sensor is assembled directly on the circuit board, but following some comments they seem to be anyway not very accurate as they appear. Thanks once more.

So how much was this Casio New? I had a 1993 $399, Casio DEP-600, Scuba Dive watch that logged up to 20 dives, it took the water & surface temperature. It was to big to wear as an everyday watch. :-)

It think it does not measure air temperature. It only measure the infrared wavelength. Can it measure air temperature also.

Can it take a persons temperature to see if they are sick? That could be very helpful with Covid-19 maintenance.

If your car wasn't firing on all cylinders, you could identify which exhaust outlet was coolest, so which was the misfiring cylinder.
