Just to make sure. There is no digital time illumator like earlier models. Just the led light that works more like a lamp right?

Watch Geek, I just got this watch and was soooo confused with the tiny words in the instruction book that I needed a magnifying glass to read. I came across your video and I must say that setting up and using my watch is sooo much easier! Thanks brother, you get 2 thumbs up! I’m about to watch your video on the GG-1000 Mudmaster as I was considering buying one. Again, awesome job with your videos!

I don't read the manuals, I look up your video first before even buying one actually and then learn every aspect from your knowledge relayed so skillfully in your videos. I've bought the GW9400-1 and GA700-A1 5522 (this video) and enjoy the experience so much more because of what you provide. You rock!! Thanks for you what you do and how well you do it.

Hi Watch Geek, thank you for posting such a professional informative video. I purchased this exact model yesterday and encountered an issue whereby the hands were not in sync with the digital display. As the manual which accompanied the watch provided fairly vague information I decided to check online. After finding and watching your tutorial video I was able to rectify the problem. Within minutes my new G-Shock was functioning perfectly. Thank you again ☺️

THANK YOU for taking your time to make my life and others easier . I am a retired power lineman I had the same Casio g shock for a long time beat watch I have ever owned it has been through a lot of abuse being a power lineman what I liked the most was it was mostly hard plastic ( not that I think it would have mattered if I ever made contact with a live power line ) but I did not want a pocket watch because they are all medal true lineman boots are have wood and no metal in them any way my old watch is still working but all of the plastic has dry rotted away I did contact Casio they told me they do make any parts for that model anymore. So my wife surprise me with this new model no 5522 I was like wow but was having a hard time settling it the hands was off I couldn’t figure what I was doing wrong and that was one of the first things you showed. I was like that got to be it . But I learned so much from your video. Thank you so much for making your video is it okay if I share your page on Facebook for my getting older friends to see where they can get help too . Thanks again

*_Another superb and phenomenal review WG!!! One thing that probably slipped your mind was the ability to exit any mode and return straightway to Home Time Mode. This is accomplished by the depressing of the C button or Mode for about three seconds. "TIME Hold" will begin to flash in the bottom LCD panel. When the C button is depressed long enough, you'll hear two succinct high tone beeps and you're back to HTM. This function is also available in the WVA-M640 Casio Non-G-Shock model. Other than that, you covered everything._* *_If I can get my hands on the GA-700-1A I'll be a contented camper. I have the red GA-700-4A as pictured in my avatar, the all black with grey accents GA700-1B, and the black and navy GA710-1A2. But man the GA-700-1A with that majestic RED contrast is awe inspiring._*

Thank you for letting me know this about the shortcut. The GA700-1A with the red accents is a very sharp looking watch. I like all the features that it has. Especially the one button push stopwatch. The one button push stopwatch reminds me of same feature that all automatic and manual wind chronographs had in them back in the 1960's and 1970's. I've had my GA700-1A for around 3 years. I purchased mine brand new and never wore it. Instead, I put it in storage when I got it. Well, I just took it out of storage a few days ago to start wearing it. This watch has grown on me so much that I ordered 2 more GA700's. The all black with grey accents GA700-1B and the GA700BMC-1A Neo Tokyo with the red and yellow painted hour and minute hands. I'm also thinking of getting another extra GA700-1A with the red accents and positive LCD display to have as a back up to the one that I already own. The three GA700 models that I mention here are my 3 favorite out of the entire GA700 line up. The GA700 looks very tough and heavy duty. The GA700's design is very tactical looking and it has a masculine look to it. It has presence on the wrist and is very light and comfortable to wear. I will rotate wearing all 3 of my GA700's with my three GWG1000 Mudmasters and my collection of Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawks.

@@georgeg1947 *_I hear you man! If you're enamored with the GA700, I dare you to give the GA-800 a try. The only difference between the GA700 & the GA800, is the 800 has Dual Time Mode w/ Time Swap - rather than World Time Mode -, Recall Mode from past and current SWM times, and no Target Time in SWM. Other than that, the features are akin, especially the shortcut to HTM. The profile of the 800 isn't as bulky and big as the 700 but it's still just as nice as the 700. The bonus with the GA700 is the second hand ticker. With that bonus you get the Alarm Mode off/on indicator & a Time Recall Mode counter indicator. I honestly don't know which model I like the best. I have two red 700s (GA-700-4A), one to work in and one as a back up. I've yet to acquire the GA700-1A with those red accents that you mentioned. In fact, I don't have one positive LCD screen 700. My other two 700s are the black and grey 700-1B that you mentioned and the black one with the navy accents. I thought I was buying the black and blue 700 with the positive screen but because of a delay in shipping, the seller also bestowed upon me a GA110RG-1A for my patience in waiting for the package to arrive._*

@Eudtg Laery, I already have two GA-800 G-Shocks with the positive lcd display. I like GA-800 very much. Both the GA-700 and the GA-800 are excellent models to own and wear. I ended up purchasing a total of (12) twelve different GA-700 G-Shocks with different colored dials with both positive and negative lcd displays. Mostly with the negative lcd displays. I’ve been wearing them all in rotation. You can say that I went crazy with this model and that I went on a binge with the GA-700. I love the GA-700 model with the shiny orange dial and black/orange hands. I also like the tan military model as well as the model with the gold hands and markers with the black dial and yellow positive lcd display. I basically went nuts over this model and ended up buying most of the GA-800 models except for the white, blue, red, clear, and shiny black bezel ones. Meanwhile, I also dug up my 7 year old all black Suunto Core from 2013 that’s been sitting in my sock drawer for the last 6 years and I ordered a new battery and battery hatch gasket for it so I can bring it back to life and start wearing it in rotation together with my collection of GA-800’s and Citizen Skyhawks. I don’t know what it is, but I really miss the all black Suunto Core. I’m getting drawn to this model. I haven’t worn it on my wrist now for at least 6 years. The all black Core was very popular among Special Forces personnel back in the mid 2000’s in Afghanistan and in Iraq. The all black Suunto Core is a very nice looking watch and it’s very noticeable when worn on the wrist. It’s like spotting someone wearing a 1970’s James Bond Rolex Submariner. You just cannot miss it on someone’s wrist. It cannot go unnoticed. You don’t see this particular model being worn on people’s wrists anymore. Maybe that’s why the all black Suunto Core has become such a conversation piece. It’s a very beautiful and sharp looking watch and very noticeable when worn on the wrist. I recently accidentally found an excellent deal online for the all black Suunto Core for really cheap money for between $100 and $128 each before tax, so I ordered 6 more of them to have in my collection as backups just in case my 7 year old all black Core breaks, gets damaged or gets lost/stolen. Four of them cost $106 each and the other two cost $135 each with the tax included. At this cheap low price, I couldn’t help buying more than one Core watch. Especially when the all black Suunto Core model is listed brand new for between $190 to $200 and more on eBay and REI Sports. Sellers on eBay are asking $85 to $200 for the Core in used condition. So I think that the $106 and $135 that I paid for this particular model brand new is definitely not a bad deal. I saved myself between $510 to $600 combined on all 6 watches. I felt that it was a good idea to have more than one in my collection before this particular model gets discontinued or becomes rare/scarce to find. I will at least have an extra 6 brand new NOS all black Suunto Core watches on hand for future usage if needed. I’m currently also looking to purchase 1 or 2 of the Core models with the positive lcd display to have in conjunction with the all black models. After this purchase, I’m going to refrain from purchasing anymore watches for the remainder of the year or even longer. I have too many watches in my collection and I don’t have anymore room for more. I want to be able to wear and enjoy my GA-800 collection together with all my Suunto Cores, Citizen Skyhawks, Citizen Eco-Drive chronographs and my various divers watch collection. If I do make anymore watch purchases down the road in the long run, it’s got to be for a watch that’s unique which will catch my eye just like the GA-700 and all black Suunto Core did.

George G *_I hear you man!! The Swiss made Suuntos catch my eye too. Never owned one though. I’ve only seen the black negative models in person. I don’t t know if they were the Core models that you asserted or not. The only thing I don’t like about them is the glass/crystal appears to be flush with the bezel. I don’t even like Casios with that profile. I prefer a recessed crystal with the bezel serving as a sentry to the glass so it won’t be readily scratched._* *_You have a hefty timepiece collection. I find myself having insufficient storage in watch cases too. I don’t reason aright to say “desist buying watches Eudtg”. Rather covetousness overwhelms me & says “you just need more watch cases for more watches, silly”. 🤦🏾‍♂️_*

@ Eudtg Laery, All the Suunto watches are made in Finland for the exception of the Core model which is made in China. The Core that I own and the other 6 that I ordered are all with the black negative display. They all retain the original 2007 design. They all have a recessed mineral crystal that’s embedded below the black aluminum rotating bezel. The crystal is not flush with the black resin watch case or with the rotating bezel. It’s recessed deep below the aluminum rotating bezel making it hard to scratch the crystal. I don’t like flush crystals that are exposed either. The Suunto model that you are thinking of that has a flush crystal is probably one of the much newer sport models that have gps in them or their computer dive watches. All of the current Suunto sport and dive models all have flush mineral crystals on them just like the Casio watches that you mentioned. The Core is the only model that has a recessed crystal. If you do a search on KZread or eBay, you will find the model that I own. The black rotating bezel on the Core has silver numbers on it that show the degrees of a complete circle from 0 degrees to 360 degrees. There’s also two oval luminous pips at the 12:00 o’clock position on the aluminum rotating bezel. As for storage, I have a few watch cases but I don’t have the room for anymore watch cases, so I store my watches in bureau drawers and end table drawers cushioned between socks, undershirts and t-shirts. I try to keep them spaced apart so they don’t rub against each other so they don’t get scratched.
