The grooves on the rubber band are not meant to stretch or extend. It's for ventilation so your wrist doesn't get too sweaty

First thing I bought this watch it was a beater ...now after a year I just love it ... cant go out without wearing it .... maybe that's the idea about casio beaters ...the relation becomes sentimental with the watch

This is my favorite watch. I personally don't think the strap is uncomfortable at all. I do like pairing it with a black camo nato strap too.

I'm not a fan of the plastic strap, either. I wore a DW5600 for 13 years and never found it be comfortable; but lived with it. Recently bought a DW-290 and swapped the stiff plastic strap for a thin NATO. It wears like a dream and my only regret is that I should have did the same thing with DW5600.

That's also the watch Robert Mueller wears every day. Great piece. It's among my Top 5 Casio Digital Watches.

Every time I buy a new Casio with plastic straps, I "form-fit" the straps to my wrist by immersing them in boiling-hot water for 10-20 seconds and bending them just the way I like them to be. I also turn the tip of the the longer strap (the one without the buckle) inward like a letter "J" so it won't stick out like a sore thumb.

Would it fit a 18mm or 20mm strap better?

Hi. Testing my luck to get a reply from you... I really like this Casio model in general, but that turquoise lettering it has just doesn't make it look sharp. Yours doesn't have that lettering. Did you use something to eliminate it, if so what was it? or was it just erased by being worn over the years? Nice strap by the way.

Some people have said it does rub off over time. I'm sure there's a way to safely remove it.

I believe a pencil eraser will do the trick. I used one to erase the lettering from my AE 1200. It's a very quick and simple method.

Found out myself. It is: 22mm Black/Red - Silicon Watch Strap / Band with Thread, Waterproof (02ST22BA03)

and the casio f30? There is not a single video and it is a watch that came out great. I remember the year 92. The buttons were made of rubber and weighed less than a feather. They are hardly found anymore. And new much more difficult.

a great casio watch the Dw 290 could be a bit of a Dw5600 beater i So wish the green print on watch body did Not rub off so fast maybe spray a very thin layer of matt clear coat would help this

yea, the strap is also uncomfortable for me. Presses down on my wrist too much.

It has a certain appeal to it. It's not very versatile and it caters to a certain taste or mood, I guess. Me, it depends on the price. If I can get it for about $25 I *might* get it. Thing is though, in my country it's around $40, and at that price I don't like it enough to pay that much for it.

You are not exaggerating about that watchband; it truly is unwearable for me. The localized pressure spots just throb after a couple of minutes. TGV described it as comfortable then promptly re[placed it with a NATO strap. Go figure.

If u were a true legend ud link the after market band so I could buy one 8-/

Almost all Casio watchbands are complete garbage. They deteriorate and break over time. The Watches themselves however are fantastic.
