Agreed I’m so sorry he didn’t make it to the 60th anniversary to perform it. It’s such a good song.

This is the greatest Bond theme of all time. It's also a testament to the genuis and versatility of Chris Cornell. He could go from being a Grunge icon to a Bond theme creator. He was the John Lennon of our time. Rest in peace, Legend.

He had the biggest vocal range in modern Rock music too. Really loved his music and fingers crossed we get another rock song for Bond 26. Who would you pick for the next vocalist?

@TheBondReport That's a good question. I never thought of it. I'd like to see what Corey Taylor could cook up for a Bond theme.

‘You Know My Name’ is energetic, youthful, angry, and masculine; just like Bond was in Casino Royale.

Way high on the list! Top 3 definitely. Chris Cornell is a legend and anyone who does not have this in there at least top ten if not top 5 does not like music! How can you listen to this and not pound your fist into the air!?

My absolute favorite Bond song. The lyrics are perfectly in-line with the movie, Chris's vocals are inspired, the arrangement with the bold brass and orchestra melded with rock, and the magnificent opening sequence...the song gave me goosebumps in the theatre and still does.

Great video! I'm grateful for the opportunity you've created to enable me to (try to) hear the song again as though I haven't heard it a zillion times already. Yeah, this is a totally awesome song. It's certainly the "rockin-est" in the entire series. "Live and Let Die", "The Man With the Golden Gun", "A View to a Kill", and "The Living Daylights" are all snappy tunes, but this is the first truly powerful rock number. Chris Cornell gives an amazing performance - his growling delivery of the final few notes is fantastic. His passing was such a sad loss. For me, the intro and the punchy brass make it a true Bond theme. As with "Goldeneye" a different sound was needed in order to usher in a new Bond era. I envy you being a drummer. I'm an oboist and there are so few songs (to be honest, there are none) that compel me to play "air oboe". Okay, so I have thoughts about the "voice" (point of view) of this song. I think this song is sung from the point of view of M. The lyrics sound like the advice and admonitions of a superior to an underling, a boss to an employee. "Just next in line." "I will replace you." "Are you willing to die?" In the course of the film, Bond learns M's real name - "You Know My Name". For me, that fits much better than any of the other speaker/listener pairings I could think of: Bond/another agent, Bond/Le Chiffre, Le Chiffre/Bond... In any case, it's a rockin' song which, like the film it precedes, is at or very near the top of my list. Thanks for the opportunity to listen to it with new(ish) ears!

I have always pictured a few different point of views for the lyrics. M being one of the top candidates. But also the previous agent that trained him to take the position of 007. Either way it’s is just suck a good rock song. And for some, it’s that hidden gem that they can throw into a playlist and many wouldn’t guess it’s a bond song.

It's probably in the top 3, but consistently! Like the other 2 shift around but You Know My Name remains in the top 3! David Arnold uses the song perfectly as the Bond theme substitute in Casino Royale. Woven throughout the entire score. Brilliant! As a Gen X kid, may Chris Cornell's beautiful soul be resting peacefully
