Videos like this prove how effective it is to save your change.
in over 10 years I've filled 3 - 5 gallon water bottles like this. and each time the total was approx. 2600-2700+ dollars worth. I just don't use any change throughout the day and empty my change each day into the bottle. It's a little tough to do now that a lot of purchases are done with Debit/Credit cards. It sure still is nice to have a rainy day savings. I had 2 filled up that I cashed in just over 2 years ago. Cashed them in to pay bills because for 7 months straight my Wife and I couldn't work because we were dealing with her cancer recovery. The 2 bottles came out to over 5200$, it was a Life Saver.

Friend of mine did this in a glass 5 gallon jug. He only put dimes, quarters and nickels in it. It was almost full and he accidentally broke it trying to move it. He rolled every coin and took it to the bank. It contained over $7000.00. Dude went and bought himself a new 4-wheeler.

Wow! Can you imagine if that had the $1 and$2 Canadian coins. My hubby and I have done sooo much with our change. Heat pump, new steel doors and windows, travel trailer to name just a few. If I were to buy something for $1, I will give $5, just to get the $4 in coins back. It adds up very quickly. Bev
Is it just me or was watching the coins fall oddly relaxing! :)
I filled up a water bottle like that with quarters. I believe,; if I remember correctly, when I cashed it in was $6 thousand dollars.
Meanwhile, the toll booth that I pass through each day gets jammed with 70 cents.
I have coin jugs but I separate and put pennies in one jug and the silver coins in another. Thanks for the fun video... Usually the coin Machine would reject old coins and other Country coins. Hugs from Australia.
Crazy how you can get your money back by buying storage units and finding a LOT of stuff. My uncle-in-law had a storage unit filled with a BUNCH of star wars and star trek stuff that was still in sealed boxes and someone bought it before we could go in and get it all out, but who ever bought it was probably really happy about how much all that stuff was worth. Lol.
Those last coins count, they all count!! “Honey there’s a quarter and a penny left in there.” “Doesn’t count.” 🤐😂
That was so cool to watch. I definitely would've been the one to TRY and wrap them..
Never take loose change for granted. Great Job guys. :)
Omg that was awesome. I would not guessed it would have been that much. I agree, don' t cash your coins in somewhere that will charge you. That defeats the purpose of savong the money.

It’s so hard to not use the coins even though there’s a coin shortage because of this virus “Cough Cough” My father did this but his was a glass jar and then he put one together for my older sister and it was a old wood cigar box he didn’t do anything like that for me and he passed away 11 years ago on the 21st of this month. I’m trying not to spend my coins I told someone very important that I’d save for emergencies but I truly haven’t yet but I’m hoping this is a start I have to find somewhere to hide it lol knowing that living in a apartment it is hard to hide it. Alima Wilson depending on spot price of silver per Ounce, quarters weigh 1/5 of an ounce, so today the spot price is 17.70 a quarter weight alone would be worth $3.54 and that’s just the silver weight that’s valued, they can be valued by where it was minted, condition and rarity of the year of a silver quarter. Silver dimes are 1/14th of an ounce each so you can do that math.

My Aunt and Uncle saved three large water jugs of various coins back with I was young, and I helped my Aunt count and roll the coins that took us a week to do as banks didn’t have the coin counters back 50 years ago. Nonetheless, I seem to recall one bottle having $3,500+ dollars and the second one having just under $4,000 dollars because it contained more quarters. I’m sure that money came in handy for them as he was an oilfield workers who had been laid off during the gas crunch of the 1970’s, and lastly I can’t imagine how many silver quarters and dimes we wrapped in those coin rollers because we didn’t know any better in those days.
