i like that he doesn't hide any of the imperfections at the end. you can see the faces with 6, 4, and 18 have imperfections on the numbers and on the faces numbered 15 and 7 you can see imperfections on the dice itself. gives it some character and lets you know it's not some perfect 3D printed object made out of perfectly consistent materials. a person made it out of a stone. cool that it doesn't look perfect.

Fun fact! Topaz is naturally quite clear like this. The many varieties of colored topaz we see in stores is induced using chemical/biological reactions. One of the most common is to irradiate the stones, (This is why if you were to take a Geiger counter into a jewelry store, any colored topaz would register as having a very minimal radiation signal.)

Have you ever considered leaving a half finished die in the stone? After you get your initial flat and finish cutting in the geometry of the die, leaving it in the rest of the unfinished stone and only polishing some of the faces to give a “die trapped in stone” kind of look. It could be stood up as a paperweight/desk bauble and I think it would look incredible

Its a human trait that has existed all the way back to the Palaeolithic era when people were knapping flint into tools by breaking of just the right bits that at the final hit you get the tool shape popping off in one piece. The ability to visualise just which angles you need to process (whether by percussion like flint or grinding like here) a block into the desired object is just incredible. Plus really cool that its stayed with humans for so long.

I'm not into these things but still watching this video felt more entertaining and enthralling than anything I've recently seen on the platform. What an art of beauty, such talent. You did a fabulous job with both making this beautiful dice, but also with how you edited your video. As you walked us back through each stage as the music swelled, it was like watching the end of a movie when the main character reflects on their life, satisfied, and dies peacefully. It was very lovely. I hope you have a prosperous new year and thank you for sharing this.

That is the most beautiful gemstone and the most beautiful dice I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. I would be afraid to play with that to be honest. It looks like something that a starlet would wear around her neck on the red carpet or at some fancy gala. Outstanding!❤
