Yasss! ❤❤❤
Just made this little scarecrow and am so pleased with him. It was even fun painting him.
Hey Doug, I think your 1" x 1" series are awesome. It's so nice to have a bag of blanks and sit and carve anywhere. Really love all that you do, Thanks Doug keep the inspirations going.
Just to look at a 1x1 you wouldn’t think you could get that much detail carved into it. Very neat piece! Great video too!! Always looking forward to your next video!!
Linker is the Bob Ross of Canadian whittling... so calm and so gracious with his explanations... "..just drop it a whisker..."
Another wonderful tutorial again..... full of detail and character. Really looking forward to starting one of these guys. Thanks again for sharing your talents. 🏴😁
I’m new to carving and the way you do your videos it’s very helpful and I have learned a lot and it makes me want to carve more thank you
Love your tutorials Doug, this one is so detailed it creates a lovely time out while you carve away, ✌🏼🥰
I love the 1” x 1” series. It’s very informative and also quite enjoyable. I hope you continue with these.
Awesome! I have been waiting for another scarecrow. Thanks Doug!
Hey Doug I’ve probably said it already but you make it look so easy, great work thanks again! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Thanks Doug. This is what I need.
Thank you so much for doing these. I started getting into this a few months ago because of you and I absolutely love doing this as a hobby. Your videos are so easy to follow and you make such great looking carvings
Thank you uncle Doug! Really love this spooky scarecrow. Help me get in the Halloween mood. It will be a scarecrow carving weekend!
You have an amazing talent of creativity and teaching skills. Thanks foe makinf me a better whittler
I love the 1x1 series
Thanks, another great one. You and yours have a nice week.
I like your 1" x 1" shows. I also like the fact that you explain why you make a certain cut and at what angle. That is a huge help to a newbie like me. Thanks for that! Take care!
HUGE talent. Great skill. Artfully done. Immensely grateful.
Thanks Doug. Ive been sprinkling used coffee grounds (dried) in my yard and that has drastically reduced the mosquito population. Thanks again.
Love this 1x1 series. Thank you Doug! How about Pinocchio 😁😁😁
Watching this is mesmerizing 😮. Amazing!
Thanks Doug for another awesome idea and super fun carving video.
Yet another great video Linker, hope they keep coming. For someone who is literally having to build his carving tool.colection off what I sell from what I carve these help alot for inspiration.
Thanks again Doug. I love the one by one series and go ahead feel free to dump them on us, we do love them, you keep us carving.
I love your videos the best, I've copied many and my favorite so far is Larry's christmas tree. Made several of those. This is for people with bad hands like me. I use a bench hook alot and it really helps
I really enjoy the 1x1 series and suspect many others do too. They have been very unique and I have a full collection and enjoy them all. I will add my accolade to your long list of faithful supporters.
Nice one Doug, love these and yes, I do need time to catch up!!
Doug you are fantastic. Love your videos.
Hey Doug, just wanted to share my gratitude for your tutorials.. there very easy to follow, I can see the true love for what you do, which makes your videos so much more enjoyable. Thanks mate.
Great one. Merci!
Nice one...I remember the last scarecrow, it was fun. ❤
Love this 1x1 scarecrow. I think I like it better than the first one you taught us.
You are a great carver, and an awesome teacher! Your helvie roughing knife looks a lot like my recently purchased Rough Ryder sway back whittler (copy of case seahorse whittler). Amazing what you can do with the tip of that "big honker of a blade." Well, you more so than me...
Too cute.
I absolutely love the 1x1 series! Thanks for all your hard work!
Doug, Thank you for sharing your talent with us... Love your work!
Enhorabuena una vez más por tus trabajos y por el canal. Gracias, un saludo.
I just finished my first raccoon in the 1x1 series … I’m trying to catch up 😂.. I like to carve 3-5 of each one because at least 2-3 people, friends or relatives, always wants one…so I hate to see the break but then again I would like to catch up 😂.. thanks again for another great video Mr.Linker!! 👍🏻
what a super idea, he looks really good fun to carve, thanks Doug for the tutorial.
Love your videos. This is so detailed, I love it. Please do a video painting one. Only just got my mojo back after 2 years. Seem to have forgotten so much. X
Another great teaching from you Doug ..You just keep getting better ..I know the folks love it
My favorite one yet!!!❤
Thanks Doug!
Ive been gone for awhile,, i have to play catch-up on your videos,,, As always you outdone yourself ❤
Thank you for another great video and project, Doug 🤗 If you make another tools video, could you show us how you strop and sharpen U and V-tools.?
Dang you. My wife my will want one of these!
Thank You that was a great video
Hi, There are quite a lot of You tube sites not worth wasting eye time on. My top 5 sites are The Arms Family Homestead, Keeping it Dutch, Hidden Heights Farm, Mike the Scavenger and Doug Linker. What attracts me to the first 3 sites are the personalities of the families. The great mix of things they report on and the bucolic sites the first 3 are in. Mike is a Dumper Diver who keeps up a hilarious commentary as he works though the things he discovers. Finally Doug Linker, Canadian whittler who has a magic way of teaching the craft. All these 5 have an important similarity, never boring. I am a 75 year old Englishman and rarely watch television fiction and finds great joy in real life facts. Many thanks to you all.
Отлично как всегда!!! Завтра буду повторять))

Nice fall carve
Hi, Doug. I started whittling/carving about a year ago and then stopped a couple months in after breaking the nose off of a little guy that I had put a good bit of time and effort into. However, I've taken it up again recently and this time, I am more patient and less pressured to "be perfect" and enjoying it tremendously now. Your easy-going manner and fantastic videos are a huge part of my new patience. I particularly benefitted from your comments in the introductory video to the 1x1 series about getting back to having fun. Thanks for what you do for the hobby!

You could always glue it back on sir. I have also broken carvings and it is frustrating but thankfully glue saved the day!
Another great little project and video. Always fun to watch.
Thank you for the tutorial.
These are fantastic Doug!!! Great job 👍👍
I love your videos. You are such an inspiration, and I have no vision. I need to watch your videos over, and over. Any chance there's an angel carving in your future? Not much in the way of angel carvings out there, and I'm not doing a good job on my own. Thanks for all you do .
Thanks!

Thanks Cory!,
I just did the scarecrow, but i notched too deep on the hands and he is deeper than he is wide. Ready for round 2!
I'm super interested in what's been going on with your woodland? These lil guys are cute a as...💚🇬🇧🌱
Thanks for another great video. Hope you got to enjoy your Jeep this summer. It sure went by fast. Are those blocks still from that large block you cut up at the beginning of this series?
Outstanding, thank you Doug for all your guidance, you ever think about doin a book?

Doug, thanks for the great video. Was wondering if you could show painting techniques for something like this, it just seems very complex, in some places it seems like you used a wood burner. Thanks again for the great videos
Love all your videos. I've learned from you for most of this year. Am making little men for Christmas presents for my ten grandchildren. Are you ever going to do female figures?
Hey Doug, love your videos. I have been looking all over for videos for Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, and other nativity scene characters. Why don't you offer them also? I would greatly appreciate it because your vids are so easy to follow. I get better results from them. Keep up the good work! Thanks. Tom
I like that ruler, where can i find one?
Doug. I’m a slow carver but the 1x1 series is a big help!! What do I need to do to show that. I sit on a parking lot many times after work waiting for a ride. These video’s really help whether I’m watching or carving!! Thank you!!
great idea!!! this is worth doing in a 4x4x?...
I notice when you are rounding edges off of the Scarecrow. You don't cut off the left front corner on the front side of the body part?
I tried this one and it's TOUGH, gonna have to get a lot better before I can nail it.
Is there a way to use the code if we are already subscribed to the magazine?

Well no ,it’s the incentive for new subscriptions
Hi Doug, The wood you use always seems very easy to cut. Maybe a little easier that what I have. Is it kiln dried or fresh? I strop my knives before I use them, using the method you've recommended. I know that a sharp knife is key to success.
Hey Doug, how do you sharpen your knives? I thought mine were sharp but when I carve they don!t cut any where as good as yours do. I do like all the carving videos that you do and think your doing a great job for starters and carvers who have already been carving, Thank You very much!
😁👍🏼
Doug, loving the 1x1 series! Is the small angle ruler something you made or is it really available?
Простите, задам вопрос : Вы сами изготавливаете себе нажи для работы по дереву? Простите если Вам его задавали и придётся повториться.!

Doug, I love the scarecrow and am working on one but the basswood that I bought on ebay is rock hard! Well at least as hard as maple or walnut I'd wager. Where do you buy your 1x1 basswood? and does it get harder the longer it sets before being used? Anyway, thanks for the amazing 1x1 series! You rock!!

Tutorial is for you to make your own
I have to say it. I wish it was profitable enough for you to make a living off of carving and selling all these different 1 x 1 x3 1/2 characters. I know I'm not the only one who would be buying 1 or two of each little character but also realize they wouldn't sell so quick at $100. ea. 😮
I love these carvings and made one myself. Thanks for the tutorial. How would you go about making on that looked like a woman? I'd like to make a girlfriend for my little guy. TIA.
Отличное видео! Благодарю
