To everybody arguing and insulting each other, every civilization is interesting in its own way, and arguing about both civilizations could continue through decades, and will bring us nowhere.

@@InAeternumRomaMater alphabet romans "brought" was invented by phoenicians, whose city of carthage was razed by romans. Carthaginian senate was copied by romans and what made meditteranean a great agricultural and trade land was also carthage. Look about it, the book by Mago about how to efficently farm was converted to latin and greek around BC 500.

@@hayattayat I knew you would say the Latin alphabet was invented by Phoenicians. But that's not entirely true. The Latin alphabet is descendant of the Etruscan alphabet, while Etruscan got influenced by the Greek one. The Greek one got influenced by the Phoenicians, but the Phoenician alphabet as well got influenced by other including Egyptian Hieroglyphics. If you are going to drag the Latin Alphabet that is descendant from the Etruscan one all the way to Phoenician, then so can I do all the way to Egyptian Hieroglyphics. And the Senātus Rōmānus had absolutely nothing to do with Carthage. The name Senātus comes from Latin "senex" meaning: Old man, which translates as "assembly of the elders". Since the Italic tribes that formed when the Indo-Europeans came those "assembly of the elders" took place and continued all the way until the foundation of Rome in 753 B.C, it had nothing to do with Carthage.

@@InAeternumRomaMater Also Rome in its history, destroyed Carthaginian library, which we could have learn so much from. Carthage explored west coast of africa and britain by sea while Rome didn't even know how to even navigate through sea. Rome also destroyed libraries in Egypt, which is a shame. Now tell me who is more civilized? Late Romans ( byzantines ) also destroyed great cities and buildings in Syria and Anatolia but I actually blame Christianity for it, not Romans, which were originally pagan. So Romans might be civilized only when compared to celts, germans etc. Not to meditteraneans. Meditteranean people were inventors of civilization, literally.
