    I quite liked the first Cars film but the 2nd was very disappointing, the 3rd was a big improvement.

    I had no idea how they were going to make the first Cars work. I mean, there were the old looney toons with anthropomorphic cars, but how do you pan that out to an hour? I was suprised though, the visual design used to pay homage to the bygone american car culture really did kind of work. Could have used some Big Daddy Roth, but it's Pixar we're talking about. So, Cars 2: Cars in Europe? They should have just payed homage to Jacques Tati and called it a day.

    CARS had the best selling toys of Pixar. it wasn't made for them it was made to sell a lot of toy cars.

    I'm sure thousands of people have asked before me, but why can't you guys include the actual trailers we hear? I know that copyright issues are a strange thing, but other reviewers like FilmkritikTV (German) show the trailer material. Is it just a matter of money across the table?

    I've never liked Pixar films. They're terribly boring... But I did like them as a child.

    (...Continued) Recall the short scene in the park with the flower looking at its own reflection on Toasty, or the "Worthless" car dump scene, or even the early scene where Blanky imagines his master coming back still a little boy. The sadness in these scenes pointing to the passing of time, and even the loneliness of death is really quite over-whelming. I personally find "Brave Little Toaster" one of the greatest animated films ever made.

    Where are the humans in Cars? Who builds them, are they built? If not it means they're born when a mummy and daddy car love each other very much. Do you have pregnant cars? If not there's a factory where they are making life. Are there seats in these cars or a brain?

    @BigBoss7777777 The phrase "necessary evil" springs to mind. Cars 1 did amazingly at the box office and sold tons of merchandise, and Cars 2 will likely do the same. This gives Pixar a financial cushion to make stuff like Brave, a film about a ginger warrior princess that's coming out probably-soonish-can't-quite-remember. Stop moaning and let them make a bit of cash. What harm does it do you? They'll still be making good films. They will still be Pixar. Just with more money in the bank.

    Pixars only mis-step, Cars. Why didn't Monsters Inc or Bugs Life get a sequel instead. Anyway won't be seeing this as i didn't particularly like the first one.

    Took my niece. Had to leave after half an hour due to her complete boredom, and she was right. Terrible, incoherent film, best avoided. Unbelievably, it's actually worse than the first Cars movie.

    it is not pixars fault, they have finally made a weak film but they were forced to do it by disney who wanted the needless sequel because of the money from the merchandise. its a disgrace, how do you ruine the best and most consistent film studio by forcing them to make a crap film? the film pixar wanted to make was newt- but were not allowed. now you see the trailers already for brave(an original pixar film). they know this was a big mistake

    Pixar are officially sellouts. The ONLY reason this sequel was made was because they sold like $4 billion worth of merchandise for the first Cars (no i'm not exaggerating look it up). I've lost all respect for them.

    The "Toy Story" films were designed for more mass appeal, while "Toaster" kept it simple and pure. But the real reason why "Toaster" is superior to the "Toy Story" films is because it has a deeply tragic almost metaphysical depth to it that. It's really at heart a film about the time and death. Such a disappointment. Car 1 was probably the first (and so far only) Pixar film which I was bored watching, Cars 2 looked like it had better potential, so sad to hear that they've messed it up again. Pixar, move away from the Cars franchise, clearly it's not working, bring on 'Monsters Inc. 2' or 'Return of The Incredibles' or something :)

  • @Vebinz
    @Vebinz13 жыл бұрын

    @WinterXL I have not seen "Toy Story 3", but from what I read it is more like "Toaster" than the first, but still the first borrows strong elements, which isn't surprising given that Lasseter worked on "Toaster". I'm just bothered that people fawn over the "Toy Story" movies while the far superior and more meaningful "Brave Little Toaster" is little known.

    The film’s well acted, stylish & is intriguing, however the film’s unfocused, poorly directed, poorly written & predictable. (42%) (2/5 stars) (mixed)

    Well to be fair, "Toy Story" itself ripped off "Brave Little Toaster", so Pixar's whole empire is founded on lies and deceit.
