The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August as the Idol Bus traveled covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag The Next Idol cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also for the first time in “American Idol” history hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

The only reason they saying it is bad is because they can not sing or are just jealous. And just want attention. Carrie Underwood is a talented and a great singer.

Carrie should have won Idol on her audition day. But Idol couldn't do that. They needed the whole season to make money. They tried to include drama into that season, but fans knew Carrie was going to win all along.

Love her outfit, and this performance!! Definitely a summertime anthem!! I love that Carrie sounds the same live as she does on the radio!! I feel that this is not the case with every artist.
I like the look of the audience as Carrie walked to judges table. She was taking advantage of the fact that there was a person name Katey at the table and Katey had no problem assisting Carrie.

Lionel would probably have to do it. Carrie is simply to humble to ask Lionel to do a duet with her. Carrie would say she isn't a worthy duet partner for Lionel.

Carrie caught the audience completely off guarded by walking to the judges desks. Judges knew Carrie was going to do that. Which is why Luke was trying to keep a straight face when Carrie started the performance.
As all three judges said. Carrie is the best example of turning Idol winning into career as a singer successful. Music industry isn't going to come and get you. You must prove it to them, you can do it. Music industry in Nashville didn't want Carrie at all. Carrie by how good she is, force Nashville hand. Nashville wanted her fan base of 20 million fans, but didn't want Carrie. And Carrie's fan base said no Carrie, no fan base. Which is why Nashville musical brass are still pissed at Carrie to this day.
All three judges know how good Carrie is.
American Idol competition was planned for pop genre but Carrie changed that. Now it is all genre competition.

She literally had a baby a few months before this. She even made an instagram post about it. I would understand why she would still look bloated but no she wasn’t pregnant here
