    Carrie was going to sing her current single, but Carrie gave to the audience request of this song, Carrie totally shocked by the length of standing ovation after she was done.

    Country music brass didn't want this song to become a blockbuster hit like it did. Because they so badly wanted a way to stop Carrie from coming into country music. They didn't want a reality show singer to change how they ran country music industry.

    She is one of the biggest stars of any of the country singers. She is one of the best country singers and songwriters. Before you say she didn't write this song, I know this.

    Hillary Lindsey, one of the co-writers for this song, was very happy, Carrie grabbed it. And I am happy that Hillary Scott of Lady A passed on it.

    Simply put Carrie is fan made artist. Idol opened the door. Carrie's talent got her going, and then fans pushed her the rest of the way.

    Carrie said she used that criticism on Idol to get better and motivation. To her, it was like getting kicked in the butt. Carrue was like I will show you and she did. All of those false stories that The Globe, National Enquirer and Star actually fueled her fire. And it came back to bite in the butt. Because those three wanted to interview Carrie after she won and she politely said nope. And she did in front of regular newspaper people.

    To think she was just a normal person like so many of us that had a dream and one day she decided to audition for a show called American idol to go and win American idol and became one of the worlds biggest country music artists. ♥️♥️♥️

    Another reason is her father. Her father treats her the same way before she won Idol. Meaning her celebrity status means crap around him. Like if she went to see her father today. He treated his daughter not Carrie the singer.

    Hillary Scott of Lady A said she passed on it, because she didn't think the song wasn't strong enough. Carrie showed yes it is, in the right singer hands.

  • @row759

    That was the main reason audience wanted Carrie to sing this song to give that standing ovation and the next presenters actually gave the audience the extra time for that standing ovation. I think it also pissed ACM brass, because they didn't want Carrie in country music at all. ACM brass belief that Idol couldn't produce country music singers and Carrie shattered that belief.

    This song would be so appropriate in this time of Covid. I didn't watch CMA last night but this would have been a great closing song with different lyrics perhaps with a group of people singing.

  • @row759

    Nope, Carrie's first standing ovation she got was when she first appearance at CMA, when she sang this song. It was fan's reaction, when CMA agreed reluctantly to allow her to sing. Fans were saying we want Carrie to be in country music, when CMA brass and radio stations said no.

  • @row759
    @row759Ай бұрын

    Years later, fans explained why such a long ovation. Two reasons, first fans telling country brass Carrie isn't going anywhere and second, fans telling country brass basically shove it, where sun don't shine. Country brass hated Carrie into the extreme back then because she broke all the barriers or myths about reality TV.

  • @row759
    @row75910 ай бұрын

    Carrie said never understood why she got that long of a standing ovation by the whole crowd and odd part is next presenters let happen. Presenters saw what was happening and stopped. I guess someone told them to keep going and they didn't, they stopped the ovation and knew what was happening and let it happen. That ovation happen for a good two minutes.

  • @row759
    @row759 Жыл бұрын

    Nashville bigwigs are still pissed off at Carrie to this day. Carrie busted through their invisible barrier. The barrier was no reality TV show singers in Nashville. Carrie busted that barrier. What Carrie did also, was get support from veteran singers like Reba, Loretta, Dolly and Brad, Keith. They knew how good she is.

    I miss when she used to sing about substantive things from the heart. Now she just feels like a hit factory. I missed the soft genuine Carrie not the Botox lip plumped skirt up to the waterline.

    I am also happy that Cherie, Carrie's backup singer didn't try to do what she always did. Try to out sing Carrie. So, Carrie didn't have to go up a couple of higher knoches to above her.

    Everybody in Nashville, particular country brass like the song. The song wasn't the problem, country brass hated that a reality singer was singing it and turned into a blockbuster hit. Completely screwing their plan to block Carrie from entering into country music. They wanted Carrie's fan base of 20 million fans bur not Carrie. Carrie's fans said no Carrie, no fans, country brass gave in, they were desperate for those fans. What happen surprise brass was country radio station exploded Carrie brought an explosive of fans listening to country radio.
