Didier Drogba is so overrated. Big game player and a Chelsea legend for sure but he doesn't belong in this company.

Wayne doing himself a disservice. Without a doubt should of been of the first two inducted. What a player he was and for so many years, can be overlooked because of his decline in later years but he started at such an early age at the top and that shouldn't be overlooked. As a Liverpool fan I detested him but some of the things he did made you sit back and just appreciate what a talent he was.

Kinda sad le Tissier was overlooked by most people. He was a one man army, singlehandedly keeping an entire club out of relegation for multiple seasons. Truly a PL legend in a different kind of way. I was wondering why he wasn't being mentioned in the 6 and then Rooney had him with his last pick. Seems like a no brainer, was world class over multiple years for club and country and arguably the best left back in the world for a large chunk of his PL career

The way Wayne talks reminds me so much of Sir Alex, obviously not the accent but just the structure of sentences and the choice of words he uses, the little comeback digs here and there, I know there relationship was rocky at times but you can really see just how much he influenced Wayne as a person as well as a footballing professional.

Wayne Rooney has taken SO much stick over the years, yet his stats are unbelievable! Always did what was asked of him, often unselfishly. He just loved playing football. He seems to be maturing really well and I’d love to see him shocking everyone with managerial or even just punditry success.

I think I agree with that. Although, Rio Ferdinand is the best centre half in EPL history for me but Terry captained his Chelsea side to numerous titles and Adams was immense whilst captaining arsenal to theirs so I understand those two getting the nod over Ferdinand.

As an Arsenal fan, i got to admit Ashley Cole should be there, he is so underrated. He was the best LB in the world during his prime with Arsenal and Chelsea. I will nvr forget the partnership with Pires and Henry on the left flank and his battles with CR was great to watch too.

Andy Cole & Tony Adams worth a shout. Cole is the third highest PL scorer in history and won a ton of trophies. Adams was an iconic captain for Arsenal. Most of the selections stink of recency bias.

I mean, I don’t think the rest of the premier league would appreciate if for the first few years of the hall of fame the inductees would just be United players, then it’d be half and half Arsenal/United, than half and half Chelsea/City. People want a balance, let it be so. It doesn’t smell of “recency bias”, but what you might propose smells of United bias. I guarantee you, those deserving of entry will eventually get a shout. They’re just trying to make it accessible for everyone.

Big up Andrew Cole Most overlooked talent in premier league history.

Two first on my list out of these 25 is Tony Adams and Ian Wright. followed by Schmeichel and Cech.. Last two is hard.... Paul Scholes probably get the first spot, and as a wild card i've allways had a soft spot for Teddy Sheringham. Almost picked Michael Owen, and Owen probably was the better striker, but the personality wins it for me. Tbh all of the 25 players are good enough to be selected, but for me the two that stands out is Tony Adams and Ian Wright. Was surprised both Carragher and Rooney choose to not pick Tony.

He’s a top player but I don’t think he was ever as good as any of the players who are in the HOF now and who were discussed in this video. Also, regarding his assists stat, yes, he’s got the most assists in the premier league but he’s also only averaged 6 assists a season throughout his career. You need to take a clearer look at these things.

Loving the subtitles for Rooney - John telly and tear on me (Thierry Henry)

Schmeichel, Scholes, Terry, Drogba, Adams, Le Tissier. Fowler and Aguero for close honourable mentions. Le Tissier, I fear, is going to be grossly overlooked in these inductions, but what an absolute legend he was! And while Toure was a monster for Man City, he can never go before Drogba or Fowler. There’s a great guideline from the Top 100 in the NFL that can be appiied: can you write the Story of the Premier League without XX player? I feel like that a great guideline that should erase recency bias and number of titles for a given team or player

Yeah, Cole was at one point the best LB on the planet, comfortably the best the English league has seen, only really bettered overall by Maldini and Carlos.

i say this everytime the Scholes-Gerrard-Lampard debate makes an appearance, but: Gerrard - the best midfielder. The most well rounded and influential, and the biggest personality Lampard - the best goalscorer, which is arguably the hardest thing to do in football. To get his numbers, while simultaneously carrying out the duties you would expect from a midfielder, makes it hard to disagree he is the best. Scholes - the most technicially gifted, and personally, my favourite. He is the player i would pay the most to watch play. He doesn't have lampards numbers or Gerrards full tool kit, but he does make my jaw drop in awe the most when i watch all three individually play the game. The things he does is magic.

Got to say, even though I dislike certain aspects of Ashley Cole's character. He's the only fullback that I've seen handle Cristiano Ronaldo with ease. Even till this day.

Le Tissier deserves to be there. The loyalty is a big part of his legacy. He's in a unique class in that regard but even more special when you realize he didn't start with a top team like Maldini, Iniesta, Giggs and Totti, to name a few. No, he stayed loyal to Southampton for 16 years despite offers from bigger teams.

How often does the hall of fame come around and is there any criteria for entries? I'd say 3 inductees a year or when it come around. Players must have played more than 5 seasons in the PL. Final requirement would be a 10year period since their final EPL game.

For me Van Nistelrooy would have surpassed Shearers record if he'd stayed in the Premier league. His goal ratio was unbelievable.He was the most lethal striker in premier league history and the only reason he wasn't picked as an inductee was because of longevity. My top 6 would have been Paul Scholes, Van Nistelrooy, Sergio Aguero, John Terry, Peter Schmeichel and Ian Wright

Gerrard over Scholes for me. Both were incredible for their clubs and had different qualities, but Gerrard literally won games for Liverpool on his own at times. He could also play in a few positions and keep the same level.

Gerrard won competitions (never mind individual games) for Liverpool, and that was despite playing alongside a fair amount of dross.

I can only think the people who say this never actually saw Scholes play. There really is no argument for people who actually understand football and saw all of these players. Outside of ex Liverpool players just about everyone from that era in the premiership says scholes was the best they played. Not that he was better than gerrard. that he was actually the best Anyone in doubt just needs to hear Henry talking about scholes and how one of the greatest ever premiership teams (the invincibles) had one tactic against united. And it was to stop scholes at all costs.

I can’t wait to see when we get to the point where players getting into the hall of fame is going to be hard to argue for like the nfl. So many players are going to be close and be in the hall of very good which will be sad to see

Drogba - best African import and a crucial player in one of the most successful teams of the modern era. Always delivered in the big moments. Tony Adams - Next best premier league defender behind Terry. I disagree with Aguero (for now with the options available) Andy Cole would be more deserving than aguero too. And I definitely disagree with Ian Wright especially on the basis that ‘he always used to score against Everton.’

Denis Irwin not even in the overall list...what an absolute joke. Him and Ashley Cole were the best ever full backs in the history of the PL. I'd even argue that Irwin had the edge on Cole due to his set-pieces and better delivery in the final third.

Irwin was good but he wasn't better than Cole. Cole was the best LB in the world for years is arguably top 3 LBs of all time. Irwin was brilliant and reliable but he wasn't a better player than Cole.

Not only was Irwin "right footed" one of the best left back's in prem history he was arguably just as good at right back. He like a modern day cancelo if he continues continues his form for the next 5-7 years.

Could play equally well on the right and left flank which Cole never did..Alex Ferguson said he was his best signing ever for a reason. Not diminishing Cole who was the only man to shackle Ronaldo in his prime. Irwin was more complete in my opinion though.
