Such a sad, but gorgeous song. They don’t make songs like this any longer. Karen’s voice was a gift to us all. 🙏😊

Wonderful artist. After, many years of her passing, I still get sad that she is no longer here sharing her talent.

@@edgarcarreras3621 Hi Edgar thanks for your message. Unfortunately I do not take requests as I don't get paid for that service and I already give a lot of my time for' free' so people can watch 'for free' and I have to earn a living so will not take that on. I do not earn anything from all the work I do and play. That's why many channels go down the route of Patreon, donations etc. A lot of Barbra's songs are tough on copyright and I've had to fight most which I've already shown which is tiresome so I try and encourage people to show the content they want to see on their own channels if it's not playing elsewhere and they will also realise how hard this is. That's why I run my channel, my way ad no one pays me, and which people appreciate as it's good music and it's free. It would be nice if more people supported the channel by buying a virtual coffee now and again, that would be wonderful. And the people who do support it, have never asked for 'anything'.
Karen's voice always touches my soul. She had the voice of an angel, and she was loaned to all of us by God. RIP Karen.

Wonderful Karen ! A unique voice ! Best regards !🌹
For my list of great singers, which should and does differ from anyone else's list, Karen Carpenter holds a lofty position indeed ....... her effortlessness ( is that even a word ? ) is absolutely angelic, pitch perfect, soothing, and just plain listenable. We lost her to an insidious affliction waaaaaaaaay to early and I miss her to this very day. Not that my list should matter to anyone else but my list begins with Lara Fabian and Barbra Streisand and includes Ann Wilson, Whitney Houston, Karen Carpenter, Donna Summer, and only a couple more on the top tier with a few more, Thanks for, as always, your choices of videos ............... some I had forgotten about and some which are new to me which serves only to expand my world - you are " Psyche " to all but for me you are " Ecstasy "
This. My favorite song by them. I was 12 years old the first time I heard it on the radio, 1971. I was stunned, mesmerized, and in love. Ha. My first crush, Karen Carpenter. My bedroom walls were plastered with posters, album covers and etc. And she played the drums! Wooohooo! But what a song! And that voice! Not another one like it. Thank you for your comments and reaction.

Hello Ruben 🙋🏽♀️ (ooh nice name) - I have to say that I feel like an American, most people who meet me think I am 😂🤦🏽♀️ - that's before I speak! Thank you so much for your kind words - they're the first I've seen after waking up from a very deep sleep...coma 🤦🏽♀️. I run my channel my own way and not let marketing sway me like they do with 99% of channels - so only certain stuff gets played, but that's not me - I play what I want though sometimes it affects the views which are very important, but I'm in it for the long haul, so like you, people will trip on the Channel and see that it is still youthful BUT mature and people can just enjoy stuff without clowning around all the time. Anyhow I hope all is well in Texas - please keep safe and have a wonderful weekend. I attach The Carpenters Playlist on my channel so you can enjoy at your leisure - but have a look around the Channel - some good gems in there. Many blessings and hope to see you again when able as people are busy now that lockdown has finished. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🌹kzread.info/head/PLWQGjnqwg9JJ-9sJe2_7YFn2MASN9eUUv
Psyche, I could really tell was taking you there. Great reaction!
Hi Psyche!I'm new here in your channel...loved the way you react to my lady Karen...Yes!she's onenof a kind...no one comes close to her voice...i'm not born in her era, just 21 in age,a female like her but i fell in love with her since i was 10...i remembered when i first heard her voice back when i was 10,just then i was totally hooked and wanted to see this singer face...and yes,i was entranced with her beautiful face, especially her smile and expresses eyes...i love this woman alot and missing her in our era...please consider I'M CAUGHT BET.GOODBYE AND I LOVE YOU by Karen...sured you're gonna like it.
Thanks, Psyche. Was wondering when you'd get around to anothe Carpenters song. Nice thing about this channel is we get to listen to your bedroom voice before and after the selection...a two-fer!!! Did you notice that, unlike almost all pop or rock singers, who are breathing all over the place, Karen sang through two phrases on one breath. No one ever talks about this, but some older aficionados do, which is why the comparison to Frank Sinatra comes up often. The breathing around the phrases that allows for the flow of a thought in a song, without a big breath in the middle. This quality is especially noticeable in this tune. A note about your younger viewers. One of the things that allows them to appreciate artists like these is your channel, which plays the selections for them. OK, now I gotta go and download some of your videos into Adobe Audition, cut out the music, and splice together your intros into a pre-bedtime mood relaxer, so gotta go!!! You're pretty adorable. (If I've mentioned that before, just ignore because I don't want to be redundant!) :)
Beautiful!
Music at its best! Karen’s voice is effortless rich and clear Then with Richard ‘s talent in composition they made meaningful true beautiful music 🎶 Link of Richard and the Royal Philharmonic orchestra kzread.info/dash/bejne/l3umrreaptnReaQ.html RIP Karen 🕊 Thank you Richard 🙏🏼
Your a great listener and your spot on on your comments..I also hope young listeners discover these great artists of the 70's...music isn't music if it won't reach your soul.
First of all you are just beautiful. I'm so impressed that you let the song play without pausing.

Karen-very gifted.
Although this video was a PROMO (promotional video) she is lip-syncing to it....but the version you hear is the FIRST time she sang this song in the recording studio....her brother Richard wrote the lyrics on a napkin for her to sing so the version you hear is the FIRST time she sang this....she is a brilliant singer and her voice so suited to this type of song....a huge hit, hit #2 and sold over 1 million copies of this single...

Hi Mike - The Carpenter's released it first in 1971. Here's the details "Superstar" is a 1969 song written by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell with a songwriting credit also given to Delaney Bramlett[1] that has been a hit for many artists in different genres and interpretations in the years since; the best-known version is by the Carpenters in 1971." Hope this helps. Have a great weekend. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️ 🤗 🌹

@@psycheinc-theSLC Methinks my attempt at snark escapes you:-) I was poking fun at the clueless kids who have no idea who the Carpenters are (but they probably don't know Luther either right?). I saw a post the other day of Barbra Streisand's singing Don't Rain on my Parade and some idiot posted, "That Meet the Fockers lady is singing Lea Michelle's song!" ... LoL!~ You can't even make this stuff up.
