Every time I've heard her voice since she passed, I've been slammed by the tragedy of her death and the loss of that fabulous voice.

Yes,, and it's actually quite bizarre that she faced accusations of not being a very charismatic live performer, and that she and Richard, urged on by new management, felt compelled to introduce more gimmicky numbers to their later live shows in an attempt to add more "pizazz" or "oomph". I hadn't watched this particular show for a few years, and the one thing that jumped out to me when I watched it a few days, 50 years to the day after it was first transmitted, was how engaged Karen was with the audience. I also love the way that she made subtle changes of intonation and phrasing from the recorded version of the songs, meaning that we got the best of both worlds: her marvellous voice and peerless vocalisation, but at the same time an entirely fresh version of each of the songs, all of which added to the impression that she was singing "just for you".

Karen is so beautiful and the best singer ever. Even better than Andy Williams, my second favorite! Karen could be a top country singer too!

Her voice is like silk! She could’ve sang the LA Phonebook and it would’ve been magnificent! I wonder if she ever realized her beauty and talent! I could’ve dated her In a heart beat!

only 2 singers give me the chills. Karen Carpenter and Ann Wilson. There is a lot of pain in the songs. I wished that she reslly knew how much we all loved her

I really love "Mr Guder", strange that this song did not get as much momentum as many others by them - I think it's one of their finest records. And Karen on drums is such a treat!!
