This is not meant as a mean or snarky comment, only a reminisce and a tounge in cheek comment...I learned to cook watching Julia Child in 1968 and up until she died. She NEVER apologized for her ingredients and just told you what to put in her recipe. No substitutes, never, if you don't like it don't use it talk; and we were all accepting. My point is, make it your way and if a person has an issue, they shouldn't eat it or they can tweak it themselves. You are being so nice and considerate making other recommendations. I wish we still lived in the Era of civility and everyone could be polite and just watch and enjoy. All said with love and I just miss the simpler times when you got a person's recipe they way they made it, because you wanted to share the same with others. Keep cooking, eat your meat and enjoy your beautiful thoughtful life.

Every Christmas Eve it's our family tradition to have lasagna and every year that's my one cheat. Over the years I've tried different keto and carnivore versions but none of them really tasted that great and it was extra work for me to make my own that I could have along with everything else to prepare and honestly I wanted to spend more time with family ❤ So thank you so very much for this amazing recipe!! Absolutely LOVE your videos. Currently I am someone that needs to lose 75-100 pounds and right now I am just strict meat and eggs. That being said, I was curious if you feel like making some of your carnivore recipes (that look incredibly delicious) might slow down weight loss. I am sure that you are still reaping the benefits from eating strict carnivore health wise, but, I was wondering if eating some of CCN’s recipes might be better once you are closer to your goal weight. Keep doing you Chris, you’re making so many people get healthier and feel better that may have been on the brink of despair in their lives.
@ChrisCookingNashville

Hey thank you so much! It’s possible the dairy on some of my recipes may slow weight loss, but that’s really dependent on each person. I don’t eat this kind of stuff daily, and if I did I wouldn’t be surprised to stop losing weight. That being said I just try to feel my best and put good things in my body and let it do what it wants after that. If it’s to a point where I’m not feeling good or still haven’t lost weight after months and feel like there’s an issue I may worry more at that point but patience is my biggest ally in the way of life so far. 😊

These recipes are good for people that are getting bored of a carnivore woe and are tempted to go back to traditional comfort high carb food, particularly in periods of high stress. Chris is showing ways in which you can have celebratory sumptuous meals that remind you of your family traditions while still being low carb and low plant toxins and anti-nutrients. There are some ways that dairy can be reduced or eliminated from many of his recipes by using things like thick flavorful broths (seafood broth are umami bombs) and substituting butter for bacon fat or tallow. I highly recommend Anita from @ketogenicwoman to get dairy-free carnivore recipes

I made lasagna noodles using the Mac and cheese recipe but they came out too spongy so I cut them into strips and put them back in the oven on a rack on low like the spaghetti technique until they were soft and leathery like Al dente noodles. Do you think that you could bake the noodles? Like in a thin silicone pan? I do a pizza casserole this way (not your recipe, but similar).
@ChrisCookingNashville
27 күн бұрын
I think you can. My preference is to do the crepes because I like the texture better and baking sometimes dries the edges so they might need a trim, but it should worth otherwise. 👍🏼
Looks great. I've been making a similar keto or carnivore lasagna - but learned new stuff to try here. Thanks! Am curious. For "pasta" I use a recipe I saw on Keto Twins - which they took I think from Ketogenic Woman. It's roughly 3 eggs, 3 or 4 tbsp pork rind powder, 4 tbs cr cheese, 1 tbs parm. Whiz, pour on silicon baking mat, bake 8 min at 350. You get a "pasta" rectangle - use as is or cut into noodles. Looks like less time and trouble than using a square pan. Have you ever tried baking instead of pan on range? Is pan amazingly better? Also, I'm not sure about using a "binder". I think this comes from - well - we used to use almond flour in many pseudo-bread-pasta things. And that was back when we were keto. For carnivore, I think a challenge was "replace the almond flour with what? Oh! Ground up pork rinds!" And ... I'm wondering if it is actually needed. I need to go look at your manicotti recipe and see if you used it or not. I've made some pasta (or wraps) without any binder, and it seemed okay. But I haven't done enough back to back experimenting to really know if one is really better than the other - i.e. I don't do this kind of fancy stuff too often, and my memory gets fuzzy. As to which is better or which tastes like what. Anyway, thanks again - this vid is helpful!
@johneubank8543
28 күн бұрын
Oh interesting. Shrimp, not pork rind dust. And egg wh powder and gel. I'm guessing this makes a more pasta-like product. What I get, described above, is a tad more "spongy" than pasta. It works. I like it ok and it has the virtue of being easy - and makable with stuff I already have. But to make it more pasta like when I roll and cut it into linguine or w/e, I do have to let it air dry a while. That helps a lot. I put a cream reduction + parm + salt pepper butter sauce on it (oh and garlic) - a lot like an alfredo dish. I'm reminded of that gastro-science pasta recipe that went viral. You whiz boiled egg (one guy did cooked chicken breast) and some gastro chemicals - get a squirt bottle like a restaurant ketchup squirter, and squirt it into a bowl or water that you whirl w a spoon. Never did make those - was tempted but the chems were sold out and also expensive. Is what you make worth the time effort and money for you? Must be. If you've tried the version I mentioned and know it, pls tlel me, if you don't mind, how yours works out better. I am willing to try new things, even if sometimes I get lazy or set in my ways. I'll admit it is intriguing and I am thinking about trying it - your way of making carnivore pasta. Thanks!
@ChrisCookingNashville
27 күн бұрын
I think the best thing I can say is you just have to look at the various recipes I have for pasta (I have a number of them) and see if any of them seem interesting and give them a try to see if you like them or think they’re better. Taste is so subjective.
@johneubank8543

That happens to me...I don't always plan very well. More spontaneous...so I might not have all the ingredients. But, we gotta eat. If I have plenty of carnivore ingredients basics, I just put together what I have. I had the gastic bypass many years ago..so still can not over eat. I'm not sure my body absorbs nutrients either. But, I eat more often. With some precooked hamburger or ground meat in my freezer, I can throw together a bowl of meat, cheese, maybe an egg cooked however. But, then I have to feed my none carnivore Husband...& I think he'd love this Lasagna! I might be able to convert him! 😋
@ChrisCookingNashville
27 күн бұрын
Haha nothing wrong with the “throw it in a bowl” method for dinner either. 😊
hey chris? on the noodle rrcipe for this new lasagna, i compared it to the previous noodle recipe i had alrrady printed (just to make sure i had the right recipe from previous) and it is missing the extra egg yolk in this recipe card. is that a mistake or purposeful? i know you said the recipe was updated, but i figured you meant the lasagna not the noodle.
@ChrisCookingNashville

Just curious why not bake the noodles in large pan and cut into desired sheets? I just was thinking it would be less stinging at the stove time. Lazy? Maybe, lol
@jesusiscomingsoon-

I find whenever I bake my noodles they come out very dry and I have to cut large portions of the edges because of the dryness but when I cook them on the stove top they come out much better. I have a convection oven so it cooks differently

This is correct. Baking them can cook them a bit unevenly and I also find the texture isn’t as good without the direct heat. Just my preference though.
Hey, Chris, I bought the pan from your link. How do I know you will get credit for it?I didn't see anything about your name on there?

Thanks so much! 😊😊😊
Can these noodles be baked like some of your others? I really struggle with the pan-cooked versions

That should work. The edges may need a trim if they get dry but you can still bake them if you prefer. 👍🏼

@ChrisCookingNashville many thanks for your prompt reply (as always 💗). I usually do the tray baked ones with a dish of hor water in the oven (mine is gas, no fan) and that seems to help.

That’s a great idea 😊
Could this be baked in the oven like your other pasta recipe? Just trying to avoid standing at the stove. Lol😂

It can. I’m not as much of a fan of the texture that way personally but if you like it I say go for it. 😊

I figured out why this recipe blows my blood sugar too the moon - the mozzarella has nearly 4 grams of carbs per oz. Using as much as goes into the recipe means you MUST adjust your medication as diabetics.

Different cheese will have different amounts and the filling is always up to your customizations. 👍🏼
Can I make this and freeze it?

Chris!!!!! a bit off topic, but you warned me months ago about mayonnaise... OMG I saw a video on soybean oil !!!!!! I threw out even my Trader Joes organic... yikes. But I cannot find your mayo recipe. I even went to the site. Can you advise. It makes me kinda sick to know I've been downing that for a zillion years. 👩🍳
