    Just becuz Condit 'ran away' from Diaz doesnt mean he lost the fight. It shows that he respected Diaz's power. Ask yourself this: Would you rather be KO'd infront of millions or win the fight by staying on the outside and slowly picking your opponent apart? Condit was more active than Diaz throughout the fight and he was never boring.

    So what you're saying is every fighter should walk forward and just trade until one person falls? MMA is about so much more than that and i think it was a pretty easy decision to give that fight to Condit.

    @alterbyme Condit didn't cower away he knew that Diaz would try to push the pace and push the action and he knew that a big chunk of Diaz's success was swarming so when he felt the pressure coming he would back up throw a few punches and circle out once again game plan he knew his success was keeping him at distance and utilize his his kicks and combinations I hardly call that cowering away

    condit vs gsp gonna be all about the question: Will Condit run fast enough so gsp cant take him down? pure entertainment :) Avoiding getting cornered with good footwork is one thing but literally turnin ur back and running several times is called running. People who compare that too good footwork in boxing dont know boxing - watch some mayweather fights to educate urself.

  • @alterbyme
    @alterbyme12 жыл бұрын

    @streetrage42 I disagree. Each and every time Condit backed his ass up to the cage he was put in a situation where the only option in his favor was to cower away. Diaz was not one put in a situation where he was in danger of getting beat down, Condit, however, was put in several of those situations.

    The problem with greg jackson approach to fights its, is that he does it with the same mentality he would in a street fight when your life its in the middle, his fighters are conservative, inteligent, and dont rush. I think its a valid way of fight. But in a sport context or competition context, doesnt bring much excitment.

    You guys seriously think he wasn't trying to finish? He threw bombs and stuck to the game plan while doing it. If you think he should have tucked his chin and just stood in front of Diaz then you should be able to see the obvious reasons that he has the title shot and you're commenting on youtube.

    @JezzaAKAscarface you have a point Jon did finish Rampage on the ground which is Rampage's weakness so to speak so Jon knew he had that aspect of the fight if it went there but you need to realize that virtually Diaz's has no weaknesses I mean Condit hit that man with two crisp high kicks and the dude didn't budge the point that I'm trying to get across is those two men were about as equal as it gets so good prep and fantastic game planning is what it took to win the fight Condit had that

    Diaz didnt know what to do with an even reached opponent. You banged him up every time he came in before he got his combo off which must have really pissed him off. Every fight he rushes and bangs his opponent that stands there and takes it.You showed many moves, styles, angles. Round 3-5your timing on him and it showed. You never ran you moved out of a corner turned around and came at him. When ever he came he could not hit you.Dont listen to these peeps that think they know MMA!! You the Champ!

    i like condit but the difference between this fight and the cerrone, diaz fight was cerrone and diaz hyped there fight and they both fought like they said they would. in this fight it was the same deal but carlos clearly wasn't there to fight and go for the finish. which is surprising because he shines in those types of fights. He played it smart and got the W. Im just annoyed cause i really wanted to see a good fight regardless of the outcome. This fight wasn't technical, just boring.

    I think its funny people give Condit shit from supposedly running from Diaz but whenever Jon was running from Rampage everyone was OK with it. Look people I don't know if you forgot but this is a sport not a street fight meaning game plans are involved and Condit just executed his game plan to a "T" he took Nick out of his element and exposed how weak the dudes stand up really is and when I say weak I mean one dimensional Condit did land the the more potent strikes and out scored Diaz

  • @silencer5391

    @air246810 you are entitled to that..i personally believe that you aren't taking certain things into consideration. One there were no emotions in the fight..both respected each other. Two if carlos didn't fight the smart fight tonight he would have lost. Three nick is a tough dude. There is no way he would have gotten knocked out..it was a stand up fight the whole time so there was no sub opportunities.it was a great fight in my eyes. It isn't always about finishing. and it was unlikely to happen.

    @LucasOner I'm from the UK so I get the fights free, there'd be no reason for me JUST to watch the highlights. I'm saying that throughout the fight Diaz was ALWAYS at every single part the aggressor, put it this way. If Diaz had of stopped being aggressive, there would have been no fight, at all. I agree that Condit did the smart thing in avoiding, but how MUCH avoiding he did is ridiculous, did you see the flying knee he threw? Usually he explodes, that was a tap.

    it was a joke because i have never seen condit ever fear any1 i mean ellenberger nearly killed him but he kept fighting and kapmann did the same. condit and mcdonald was a war condit kept in his face all the fight and he got straight in there against hardy but from the first second of the fight with diaz u cud see he was scared to exchange. the game plan was run and score points with leg kicks. it is the equivalent of a wrestler just holding someone down. so much for the dog fight he promised

He gets of way to easy. staying of for a year just to fight for the title directly when he comes back, i think he should fight another top guy before condit. its like he is taking time of to study carlos. and then they focus more media on him then carlos and diaz.....it makes me sick, because it not fair.

    @air246810 Thats cool and everything..But Condit threw and landed more strikes than Nick in the overall fight..and I think the loss honestly showed in Nick's frustration during the fight.I don't believe nick did enough..even nick's face was battered..right after the fight the damage was more significant and apparent on diaz. everyone is talking about the leg kicks condit threw but he busted diaz in the face plenty of times. If the fight was disappointing then you can't blame just carlos.

    @LucasOner 4-1 my fucking ass. I'm a big Carlos fan, but he did NOT win that fight, because he didn't fight, he jumped and ran around a lot, it's one thing to say "oh that was a gameplan" but engaging ONCE every round isn't a fight ffs and he should defiantly be penalised for it. Diaz 1/2/5 Condit 3/4. The judging goes on "effective aggression" So Diaz wouldn't get points for that, but Condit should have point taken off for "zero aggression" Hope he comes back to his old self with GSP.
