Good choice! As a collector you really have to be able to clean the insides of the old binoculars. Otherwise you won't have half as much fun with it..

Спасибо за ваш комментарий! Мои критерии относительно просты: бинокль должен иметь регулировку одного окуляра и должен быть в хорошем состоянии, естественно, с учетом возраста. Но в остальном я очень открыто отношусь к выбору. С наилучшими пожеланиями!

I have the same, but my binocular have in front written like this A.G, what does it mean? Best regards

It may be french army. With old French army binoculars from the time of the First World War, the abbreviation A.G. stands for Artillerie et Genie. I have a video of an Huet from that era which is also marked A.G.: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJ92lad8lcm4nsY.html Compare the type of inscription. If it's similar, it might be French. But then it would be extremely rare. Greetings from the Black Forest!

Are your binoculars from Carl Zeiss? The French company Krauss manufactured these binoculars under license.

Today I received some maringlas marked u.k with the stamp of a clover and the date printed 15 5 16 (it seemed strange to me), the binoculars do not have a reticule. But I think they belong to the British army and that they were used during the first world war. Is it possible that the trevol is the mark of a division, regiment or something like that? The model is not with a reticule or was it removed? Thanks a lot!

Nice find! It's actually Ü.K. which stands for Übernahme Kommission which belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Army in WW1. The numbers are the date when the binocular was registered for official army use. Austro-Hungarian binoculars from that era are quite rare. Is it Carl Zeiss Jena or Carl Zeiss Wien?

@@BlackForestRecon Thank you very much for answering and for the explanation I learned a lot with your videos and enjoyed the places, the binoculars are Carl Zeiss Jena, I bought them for about 20 dollars from an older man without even knowing the model since the man did not put any brand information or model, visually I thought it would be a DF, I was surprised when I saw them when I opened the box! ..., the seller told me that the father of Italy brought them.

@@lalolanda5874I'm glad that I could help you with my videos. 20$ is quite a bargain for such a bino. If the condition is good it's worth more than 100$ easily. And the missing reticle is quite common with these models. I got another Marineglas here that hasn't got a reticle too.

@@BlackForestRecon if the condition is very very good, although I have not restored and cleaned them yet, the case is in very good condition too and is olive green. I have another model for which I would also consult you since it seemed strange to me, I have a carl zeiss 8x40 military, with a grid (from the Argentine army, my country) from 1943. I could not track the model in the usual pages, after much searching I was able to find a unique photo on the internet of some carl zeiss 8x40 military, they are some diestenglas of the romanian army bmk. If you have any information I will thank you, the year of manufacture seemed strange to me (I identified it by the number), it seems strange to me that they could sell to my country during the war.
