"The Carl Martin PlexiTone, is as the name might indicate an unusual high gain three step rocket of an overdrive. The PlexiTone offers two step overdrive, the crunch channel and the high gain channel, on top of that it gives you an up to 20dB clean boost channel. The crunch channel goes from subtle overdrive to hard rock gain stage, the high gain channel goes from rock gain stages to absolutely meltdown, with loads of gain and low end, and all in a tone that brings the memory back to the early 80’s high gain guitar hero’s. The PlexiTone has as most Carl Martin pedals a built in regulated (+-12V) power supply, to secure the necessary headroom that gives you the great tone"

Still great pedal. Beautiful playing !
For me even in 2023 the by far best sounding and also extremely flexible (Hot-Rod) Plexi pedal ever. Nails the tone(s) even standalone. Not only the tone, also the harmonics sound right. Sold all my other pedals, after I got this one.

I've owned or played so many MIAB pedals, and this one was the best I've come across. That Aspe sounds outrageous...love the sound of those pickups!

Reminds me of the most screaming rig. Back in 1989 I ran a Baby Marshall through a 1967 Gibson tube amp with new tubes my father had replaced for me. you could feel the Palm mute's percussion, playing a bright red Westone Spectrum. We played at the city park on weekends, the rivets on the pavilion would rattle, literally. Notes would sustain for 2 minutes. Or palm muting would make this sort of chuUNG, chuUNG, ChuUNGK sounds.
Smokin'! The Modern Plex segment was really exciting!

sounds amazing. not sure i've heard a plexi sound so good on it's own without an od in front though.

Great playin and video! Is the Amp set at edge of breakup in a clean (channel) setting?
I am really curious about the new carl martin plexitone with the built in rangemaster that was announced a while ago but still hasn't surfaced. PlexiRanger I think it's called. The plug-into-the-wall plexitone is still the best Marshall aiab I've ever heard. I've owned the single channel version side by side with the hardwired power cord big one and the wall power one sounds much better imo. The single ch pedal sounds like a pedal, the wall power dual ch sounds and feels like an amp.

Great tones, but the description was clearly written by someone with no knowledge in electronics. Using a wall plug instead of a separate 9V supply allows the engineers to use better components? WTF?
