Carl Martin: PANAMA British Hot Modded OD

Музыка

carlmartin.com/panama/
The Panama is straight up vintage 80's rocking. Think of a hot-rodded Plexi or perhaps a JCM800 and you'll get the idea. It's all in this unassuming little box. One of the best OD/Distortions I've had the good fortune to try.

Hi Brett, I just watched a video from 2013, where Sadie made an appearence. It reminded me of how long it's been since she was in a video. I'm sure she's all grown up by now. Gooday mate. :)

I gotta give it the edge over the Pinnacle. Had a Pinnacle and loved it, but in the video, this sounds better to my ears.

Can you do another video showcasing the edge of breakup tones that this thing offers? I'm intrigued by the what almost sounds like a screaming glassy plexi type of sound from the single coils but it's like, I want to hear it with the tone knob up all the way.. I was considering getting this or some other type of plexi pedal like the Keeley El Rey Dorado, they both seem to do what I'm looking for I believe, maybe slightly differently. It's nice that this goes into full blown shred pretty much.. I'm after super shimmery plexi clean tones that are super woody/glassy. I hope that makes sense, like not warm plexi, bright and woody plexi.

There's no real difference in the guitars except for the humbucker vs single coil in the back, Philip. So you'd want to make the choice based on your back pickup preference as they're both very different as I'm sure you're aware. Other than the one pickup difference, the guitars are pretty much identical. I love them both (but I would say that!).

Im wondering too since i have the mad professor but i havnt tried this one yet. But he has! 😆 according to this video they do sound similar but the Panama might have a bit more snarl to it. MP1 is kinda dark compared to some of my other pedals. I do love it though. Its a great solo pedal with the added reverb.

While the gold plexitone is advertised as being chinese made, the Panama, unlike the Plexitone, is made in Denmark, according to the pamphlet.
